Hello everyone! I just wanted to say a big hearty "Hello" to everyone. I've been a Firefly fan for a while but just recently decided to reach out to the community. I've been a lurker on these forums for a while and finally wanted to join up and speak up.

A little bit about me: I'm a pretty normal guy but I'm secretly a closet nerd (I'm a huge World of Warcraft player, Linux user, SciFi channel fan, etc...I'm a serious nerd :). I've seen a quite a few forum posts of people like me. I've never been so incredibly enthralled in a television show before. When I found Firefly a year or so ago I watched the series at least 10 times. Since then I've found myself watching the series about once a month.

I'm active duty US Navy (and have been for the past 9 years) and I can completely relate to the lifestyle that the Serenity crew has. I love it. I love the closeness and camaraderie, I love the crew drama. I love how accurately it portrays life onboard a ship (well minus all the crime :).

Anywho, thank you all for taking the time to give this a read. I look forward to chatting with all of you.

PS, I have a "Shiny" sticker on the back of my car and have yet to have anyone acknowledge the Firefly reference.

Glad that you finally signed up, what took you so long :) There are a great group of browncoats here. Friendliest folk on the web! Got our differences, sure, but when it comes to Joss Whedon’s Firefly, well we pretty much agree with what you’ve already posted.

Also, welcome Deebop! I just cleaned and organized and restocked the supply closet, and we've got a shiny new virtual Browncoat for ya ( no more re-used ones, people were starting to wonder what we did with the people that were wearing 'em before...)

We hope you'll come back often and give unique input. Also, if there are any other lurkers out there I SEE YOU, you might as well de-lurk and come outta the cold and get your 'Coat as well...

Ice-planets have been re-stocked as well. Got a deal on an assortment of fifty flavors, all now arrayed by color in the bottom of the cooler. Stash your gear in a locker, then come up to the galley for a questioning of the buffet. We've fresh bao, wife soup, everything except mangos at the moment.

Welcome, I de-lurked about a year ago myself.

I know the feeling. I have a Firefly T-shirt with the good ship Serenity on it. I recently wore this shirt in a very public place all day, and had only one person indicate to me that they had any idea what the picture on the shirt was about.
