Turner Classic Movies

The original Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman will be aired. Movie features 1950's bad girl Yvette Vickers in one of my favorite sci-fi 'b' movies. Aloha!

Guess I'm the only one old enough here to care about these things. Well, it was glorious!. TCM aired it in letterbox, and I watched it on a 70" screen. Miss Vickers sizzled even more than I remembered from my last viewing about 20 years ago. Her cafe dance was mesmerizing. The whole thing, mega-cheez and all, was just so great to see again. She died in 2010. Her movies, including HUD with Paul Newman, will keep her young forever.

It's not the age, since I'm likely close to you in that regard. But you do admit to it having "mega-cheez," and some of us might be a bit lactose intolerant to some of that.

Well I am a big 1950's B movie junkie. I'd rather watch one of those old sci fi or horror flicks than anything else. As for Yvette Vickers, she was very special. Stephen King, in his book "Stephen King: On Writing", cited her as one of his movie matinée idols. Some of the B movies were great, and some weren't. But a pretty girl never hurt.

ETA: Every time, it amazes me, she's NOT EVEN WINDED, boy howdy.
Mind you, this is also the lady who wore OUT Fred Astaire on the dance floor, too.

So sad that the date of her death can only be pinpointed to the year.
