COUNTDOWN: 8 DAYS TO SERENITY R2 DVD LAUNCH

Where have all the ideas gone?

I've been brainstorming my second fanfic for a week now, but I'm still not certain where it's going. I feel short on creativity... though since I generated the whole of 'New Prospects' in the space of three-and-a-half weeks, maybe I'm still all written out from that.

Whereas 'New Prospects' had a very linear timeline - necessarily so, since I wrote it one chapter after another - I want this next 'fic to jump around a little more, a la 'Out of Gas', so having a clear plot structure set in place will be all important. That's the plan, anyway. I even have the first few pages drafted, but it all feels quite rough, and I'm not sure where to take it. I know only that it's going to be set during the Firefly series canon, will see our BDH go to a mining moon, and will revolve primarily around River and Simon.

Ah, well. Think I'd better watch a few episodes and see if they give me any inspirations. Some people seem to be able to conjure 'fics out of thin air - I'm not one of them, and it's mighty frustrating!
