Firefely represents a vision of what our future could be if we take a series of steps now and in the near future. It tells me that even in the 26th century, humanity still hasn't escaped the trap of trying to govern everyone at once with a single power...and the pitfalls that come with trying to govern an entity not suited to its cognitive powers.

Still...it's also mighty shiny entertainment;D

here is what Firefly means to me: It does not mean a brilliantly written and acted TV show and movie, nor some of the most richly drawn characters ever, even allthough it was all of them.

To me Firefly means a philosophy, a way of life. I invite anyone to look at my log entry "Browncoat Solidarity". i have enjoyed the praise of my fellow Browncoats for my various fanfics, and I love giving everyone a good time with my work. My last two fics ( Annabelle and Reconsider Me) have been me projecting myself into numerous characters as I try to sort out a pretty miserable situation in my own life, complicated far beyond what even the stories are.

The level of support I received from people I don't know, and probably never will know, except in the fact that we are all wearing brown, has been nothing short of awesome.

That's what Firefly means to me.
