August 4, 2517 11:56 A.M, Local Time News from Bellforge (City on Beaumonde)

When criminals and traitors start running out of room to breath, they always turn on each other. That’s the running theme with an incident that occurred just yesterday in the City of Bellforge (A large city on Beaumonde). At 3:14 P.M Local Time, a group of individuals were seen arriving in the Industrial Sector on the trading outpost of Sebastion Longstreet. Mr. Longstreet is a former General of the Independent Planetary Coalition during the Unification War, who has since turned in his command of the rim military into a fruitful command of the regional economy. The particular group of individuals came disguised as prospective merchants, but were in fact a group of armed militants known as “The Phoenix Fire”.

A relatively small organization, “The Phoenix Fire” has been listed as a Anti Federal Militant group, who have been involved attacks on Federal officers in mining towns in the Georgia System. After the precedent set by “Black Sand” in the sinking of the “I.A.V Dominion” this passed April, it seems they were inspired to start their own wave of terror against the Union of Allied Planets.

The group arrived on Longstreet’s Trading Outpost hoping they could get his support in favor of their organization, hoping his wealth as a trader and his prestige as a respected officer could get more to join their cause. Unfortunately for them, the now loyal citizen of the Alliance was not on the Trading outpost that day.

Suddenly, a burning shuttle fell from the sky! A ball fire that seemed appear like an asteroid, but slowed down just before it touched the ground. From out of it several more members of the “Phoenix Fire”, but the shuttle was not alone. Behind it came another ship, only this one was loaded with members of another Anti-Federal terrorist organization. Yes, you guessed it, the shuttle was filled with militants of “Black Sand”.

A firefight ensued on the landing pad of the trading outpost, which echoed a scene not viewed since the signing of the Peace Accords in 2511. The greatly outnumbered Phoenix’s ran for cover, hid, or held their ground, whilst innocent workers desperately tried to get away. After only a few minutes police arrived at the scene, but only secured a perimeter as the situation was far more then local police were prepared to handle, and called for assistance from the military.

The Black Sand militants retreated back to their shuttles and ran off into space, while many of the Phoenix’s remained on the surface of the planet. Many managed to escape before Alliance Aircraft roared overhead. "The Desman Battlegroup" Commanded by Johan Richter secured the area fully and began to search for those responsible. After a thorough effort which lasted several hours, the Alliance Soldiers had captured a dozen men and woman from both Black Sand and The Phoenix Fire, including Phoenix leader Roberta Sticht.

According to Federal Officers, interrogation of Roberta Sticht was closer to a game of ‘Question-Answer’, as she did nothing but talk, even at times going into far greater detail in regards to the question asked then was expected. She explained that the reason that Black Sand had attacked them was in retaliation for them having stolen a large amount of equipment from the Terrorist organization, including several very hard to obtain “Ghost Suits”, which utilize active camouflage technology to make the wearer almost invisible. How Black Sand managed to obtain these items is still a mystery, but fortunately all of the valuable “Ghost Suits” were secured.

The owner of the compound, Mr. Longstreet, declined to be interviewed in regards to the event that occurred on his trading outpost but issued this statement.

“The war is over, and it’s time to move on. It disappoints me that so many can’t understand that, and feel the need to disrupt the lives of people that just want to live their days in peace.”

Perhaps the General’s words will be heard by some of those militants still choosing to live on the fringe of society looking only to destroy everything that has been built. It is likely most will not, but fortunately the Alliance is still cracking down on these terrorists all over the Verse’ and keeping us all safe, and it’s likely no one will have to worry about having their lives disrupted by the Phoenix Fire, ever again.
