'Moments of intense violence, sporadic humor, and loyalty all wrapped up in a "Parental Discretion Advised" box. Revelations aplenty in this episode. *Bows to the producers* You've done it again.'

'This show as everyone else easily notices gets better each week. I have NEVER watched a show that outdoes itself every time you think it CANT outdo itself. Firefly is simply put the best show to ever get off the ground and flying in my opinion.'

'Each and every week Firefly surpasses the previous episode with more action, more drama, more revelations, and more excitement. "War Stories" flat out continues the tradition and we FINALLY get to see Wash and Zoe close up.'

Below are unanswered questions from the episode.
Why does Jayne carry Vera for the firefight, but not use her?
Niska , what in space happened to him?
HELP!!!!!!! My room mate messed with my VCR. I did not get War Stories. Will some one please give me a detailed synopsis. Thank you
When Wash says there are too many husbands, does he mean Mal or Zoe?
so, does jayne get shot? it does not appear that he is wearing armor (like zoe in serenity).
Is anybody besides me creeped the fzck out by River shooting three guys dead with closed eyes?
To WildheavenFarm- Wash says 'what this marriage needs, is one less husband!' He's being entirely serious so I think we can be pretty sure he is referring to Mal here as being the other person that Zoe gives her loyalty/devotion to in addition to himself.
When we first see Niska again, he is torturing someone (partially verbally with Sun-Tzu) but the face of this guy looked familiar. Is that Keith Richards (of Rolling Stones) on the torture rack? I have searched the web for this hoping not to ask a stupid question, but could not find anything, so I thought I would ask here. Thanks, Kirk
Someone ***PLEASE*** Explain to me why he didn't kill Niska!!! Jim.

Below are speculations about events or items in the episode.  These speculations are subjective.
I bet you that this episode continues the Jayne saga. Either a "war story" about Jayne will clear up reasons for his latest corruption in "Ariel", or he will be pushed further away from the rest of the crew. As it stands, I can't imagine Mal accepting what happened and moving on, he will deal with it further.
According to the script preview,
Mal and Wash are abducted by Adelei Nishka, the mobster from Train Job.
They seem to be discussing their relation with Zoe.

I think there's going to be lots of flashbacks on Mal and Zoe's involvement with the Serenity military campaign.

I'm guessing that War Stories will be the source of the half dozen scenes or so in the Firefly intro sequence that haven't yet appeared in episodes. Like in Buffy, the intro is made up of clips from the show, and certainly no clips are made *just* for the intro, so they all have to come from somewhere. Yay!! We get to see Mal firing that big-ass twin-linked .50 anti aircraft gun!!!!

Below are notes about events or items in the episode.
The ear that was sliced off Mal's ear now rests in an Altoid can.
