Below are unanswered questions from the episode.
Wouldn't the authorities notice a Firefly-class transport hovering beneath an island? At the very least, wouldn't the island have some sort of security system for warning?
What WAS that tattoo on Mal's right hip?
I think the tatoo was something to do with the independents. I *think* (and someone please correct me if I am wrong) that Tracey (from The Message) had a similar tatoo as well. I cannot recall Zoe ever having one, though.

Below are speculations about events or items in the episode.  These speculations are subjective.
How many other war veterans will Mal run into?
when mal and saffron are escaping the mansion, they leave through the same door they went in. when they first come out, you can clearly see that the door is painted brown on both sides and the door latch on the inside is one of those push bars that spans the width of the door. when the shot moves to the police chasing them, the door they push on that is (presumably) being held shut by mal, you can see that the door is painted white and it has only a small door handle on the middle left side. just a little goof. :)

Below are notes about events or items in the episode.
Bellerophon, in Greek mythology, rode Pegasus.
The Bellerophon was also the name of the ship that lands on the Forbidden Planet, or the one that Morbius used to get there, I'm not sure which off hand!
Bellerophon is also the name of the British ship on which Napoleon surrendered.
The Bellerophon was the name of the ship that brought the colonists to the Forbidden Planet. The surviving colonist's name was Dr. Morphius.

Sorry for the correction but I'm a stickler for such things.
Notice when Serenity approaches the trash shoot. Shuttle 2 is clearly still in it's berth, despite the fact that it has already disembarked with Mal and Saffron aboard.
Bellerophon is also the name of that behemoth of a ship that Capt Dylan Hunt and crew encountered in 'Andromeda'...the one that doesn't have FTL propulsion...
In the scene while they are editing the trashcans memory to direct it to the desert you can clearly see WINDOWS running on the screen on the side of the trashcan. http://photobucket.com/albums/b13/evilmetoo/?action=view¤t=vlcsnap-331773.png

posted a screenshot of it on this photobucket account :)
The tattoo is real. I listened to a radio interview with Nathan Fillion; he said it's a peace symbol and some Egyptian hieroglyphics. Not sure about Jonathan Woodward's, but I assume it's real too.
Was it just me, or did Saffron seem a lot better endowed in this episode in comparison to her appearance in Our Mrs. Reynolds?
