TIMES READ: 560 Northern Lights AND STARS photographed by space shuttle PIRATENEWS John Lee, executive producer

Quote:
The shimmering waves and swirls, caused by charged particles colliding in the earth's atmosphere, are usually observed from the polar regions, yet rarely seen from above.
But astronauts travelling on the International Space Station and during missions on board space shuttles have shown that nature's light show is clearly visible miles outside the Earth's atmosphere.
Ooops. Somebody didn't get the memo. No stars are allowed in space. Apollo said so.
Quote: "The coolest thing for me is hanging by a window just after sunrise and watch the stars in the big black dome of the sky as the Earth moves underneath. My eyes are really glued to the outside. It is just absolutely amazing, magical, wonderful thing to do that." -Dr Kawpana Chawla, famous last words, slowly cooked in curry sauce on Columbia Space Shuttle http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3734518559578754313
"You are in the blackest black you could ever imagine. I have reached the statute of limitations on a secret of the space program: How do you... go to the bathroom? Then you hear 'bloop, bloop, bloop, blooooop. I never did find out what that was. Where's my huggy pillow?" -Captain Ron Evans, US Navy, serial killing Vietnam veteran bomber pilot, Apollo 17, died of "heart attack" on April 6, 1990 (aged 57)
"Walking on the surface of the moon was really a lot easier perhaps than we had even been led to believe. The horizon clearly curved away in that rather smooth part of the moon chosen for our landing site for Apollo 11. The sky was black as could be." -Colonel "Buzz" Aldrin (alcoholic), July 20, 1999

I've been resisting and resisting, but I have to say it.
You are completely off your nut.
You are posting this:

and saying... that Apollo said... that there are no stars in space? Because they also talk about how black the blackness is? Even though space is demonstrably full of stars that are kind of just hanging there in that blackness?

His gripe is that in photographs from the moon, you can't see the stars in the sky on the "day side" of the moon, "proving" that they really didn't go there.
Just like I can "prove" that we're not really here on Earth. After all, you can't see the stars in daylight photos here, either!
But you're right - PN *IS* off his nut. You won't find a finer example of the American lone-wolf conspiracy theorist anywhere on Earth.

Apollo 11 press con ference:
Quote: Sir Patrick Moore Knight of the British Empire (BBC's Sky At Night): "When you looked up at the sky, could you actually see the stars in the solar corona, in spite of the glare?"
Lt Neil Armstrong: "We were never able to see stars from the lunar surface or on the daylight side of the moon by eye, without looking through the optics, I dont recall when photographing the solar corona what stars we could see."
Col Buzz Aldrin, alcoholic: "I don't remember seeing any."
Astronomer Sir Patrick holds the world record for the longest running TV show in human history, 45+ years. That's his reward for asking this trick question, "When you look directly at the Sun, did you see stars?"
The correct question for an astronomer is, "What stars did you see on the dark side of Earth and the dark side of the Moon, and why didn't you reset exposure and aperature on your camera to photograph stars at night, or bring a telescope?"
On NASA TV Channel, NASA always turns off space shuttle cameras on the dark side of Earth, to avoid showing the spectacular stars that would prove Apollo was a lie. That lie is slowly falling apart, just like USA.
