okay, so..... is drusilla just a loon or is there some method to her madness? was she this bizzare before she was turned or can vampires suffer from senility?

KEEPWALKING

Drusilla was driven mad by Angelus, mostly by killing her famaly and friends over a period of months and sudgesting to her it was God's punishment on her for having visons. The final straw was when Drusilla entered a Convent to become a nun. Angelus and Darla entered the convent, killed everyone other than Drusilla then chaised her from room to room for her to find the bodies. Driven insain from terror and guilt (they all died becourse of her) Angelus killed and turned her, thus making insain for eternity.
How insain is she? Part of what she sees and hears is illusion, a product of her madness, part is visions of current or future events filtered through her madness and part she makes up for fun and to manipulate others. Problem is she may not know which is which.

Wow! That was a very concise and well written description of the best Joss character out there. Some people just don't seem to "get" her.

Greetings,

I think Juliette Landau was an excellent choice
for Drusilla, the ethereal strikinglooks and moves
she can do as well as the accents. As far as the
character goes, yes she was driven over the edge by Darla and Angelus. Before that, she was very
uncomfortable with her abilities, look at the time
period, Victorian Eangland!
When we see her in Buffy and Angel, she has her moments of being other-worldly, but she can put together a plan that is complex and execute it well. Darla's change back into a vampire. I was disappointed that Joss never did more indepth with the character. Maybe in the future, she'll be the one of the Shanzue Prophesies. Just hope that we'll get to see more of her in later Wheddon works. Maybe she'll be the girl with the
blue hair in Serenity or could that be Amy Acker/-

Drusilla was quite pyschic before Angelus drove her mad...
and she never lost her pyschic ability, it just gets mixed in with her general wackiness...

after Dru turned Darla back, and they wiped out all the senior lawyers at W&H (except for Lindsay & Lilah) they were set on fire by Angel...

Darla hid at Lindsay's house for a while,
but Drusilla went back down to Sunnydale to hook up with Spike again...
only to find he had become a slayer loving freak,
so she took off...
for parts unknown.

Personally I still hope she return again, and not just in back story (altho I did love seeing her in Rome in the 1950s...).

Greetings&Felecitations:

I guess I liked Drusilla/Juliette so much
because she reminded me of an old girlfriend, Morgan Sowell-Bottrell. Slender, brunette and
striking. In more ways than one. Joss never did
an indepth arc about Drusilla, all we got were the odd bits and pieces from the other character's perspectives. She was catholic, had a good dose of 2'nd sight and was high strung, but a deeply caring person. She tried to save her family and failed, then was turned. Would have loved to have seen where he would have gone with her...
In the above post, I have no idea who the girl with the blue hair is, was just indulging in
some wishful thinking. Amy has 2 movies due out next year and I've not heard of anything from Juliette...sigh. Would have loved to have seen her as an elf in LOTR though.
In any case, her character had alot of untapped story potential. Hear me Joss??? Have
never been so desirous of seeing another scene in
a movie as when she replied to Darla's question about taking a bath with, "Will you promise to hold me under?" with a gleam in her eye...
