i didnt watch the show when it was on tv, infact i just discovered it when the sci-fi channel started advertising for it. so i rented the series from blockbuster, and was devistated that there wernt any more seasons after i was done. i cant wait for the movie to come out, good thing it isnt too far away. i wonder how many of the plot lines from the series will be resolved in the film. the dvd interview said that they might start it back up on tv after the movie. i could die happy if this happened, thats how much effect it had on me. i dont understand why Firefly never took off. the only thing i can think of is that its just ahead of its time.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on a return to TV. Among other reasons, Joss has said in more than one interview that he doesn't really want to come back to television. But all the actors are optioned for two more films, if Serenity does well enough at the box office. That's our best bet for more tales of the 'verse.

i just saw the interview on the dvd. well that would be alomst better. i really liked the plots and writing. i also thought that it was a really good idea to make a series based around a Han Solo type character. awesome, i dont know why it hasnt really been done before... has it? i cant think of any other tv series or even movie that is about galactic smugglers.

Welcome, bbrod! I know how you feel 'cause I got hooked on the show about 2 years ago, bought the box set and watched it over and over. And every time I finished I got mad, like seriously ANGRY that there was so much about the 'verse that I'd never know. Reavers? Shepard? River? and 10,000 other things that so obviously would go somewhere one day. Now we have a movie and I can focus my primal rage at more deserving stuff like improper cell phone usage, tomatoes and ocelots.

I am planning on growing a big black moustache. I'm a traditionalist.

mrs. reynolds, ya, i cant take watching them too much because of that. it really sucks, every time i just think about how great it was put together, and why in the WORLD was this series not liked by enough fans for fox to keep it going. i just dont understand. the movie (or a couple of them) will be nice i guess for sense of compleation, but i really hope they bring it back on TV. it could happen[smile].

I had a similar run in with Firefly as did you,bbrod. My friend gave me a copy of the DVD and I could not stop watching, until he told me that there was no more epis. so i could not bring myself to watch the last one. I was pissed as Hell to find out that Fox had played a hack job with the way they aired the sequences. Its not at all fair to this show to have been canceled when it had so much potential. Baywatch has run for years on sylicone and bleach, I could not imagine how long this show would have gone with real meat to the story. Death to Fox... Bring back Firefly now!!!
