updated chart. I haven't added MG because I don't know when she's coming.

If she is, we'll probably have to start girl room #2. Or she can stay in Cozen's room part of the time. We'll see.

you lightweight Extra partyin' time, albeit in a cheap and low key way (I thake it that these convention things have those magic hoovers that suck the cash right out of your pocketses?) but thats what planes are for... sleepin it off, thats why they never play decen't movies, or rather, appropriate movies...

I remember on my first trip to the states they were playing American Psycho on the plane over, I decide to watch it, not realising how bad it was going to be, I think the point where I had to hang my coat over the screen was the one with the two prostitutes.... I can cope with things like that normally, I just admire the drapes or something, but the woman sitting next to me looked like one of those cult type women in the hand made dresses, you know, the gingham one with the peter pan collars? My brain is trying to say mormon, but I can never be sure...

where was I? Yes, anyway, she looked highly religious and very scandalised. So I stopped watching and on the way back I think I watched flubber or some other crap.

Planes - they are for sleepin' everything else you can do in one just gets you into trouble.

Hell, they get you into trouble anyway -my mom has started watching lost and all of these discovery channel disaster docs and peering at me anxiously.

Hmmmm, they need a 'ramble' marker...

One little question.

Looking through the D*C website, Any idea when they start posting information on whats actually happening this year? Like what short film are screening or if there are bands playing and who the guests are (there is already a list, but I was hoping that it was yet to be updated with the names of our BDH's!) (do they attend this one?) is there another site with information on whats happening at the con besides the official one?

just a little over eager methinks

Yup, That's me, lightweight. Ask LMD and CMS about New Years. Yeah, there's alot to spend money on, but packing the rooms to split the costs helps. Getting the pass before the 15th helps. And buying your booze by the bottle at the nearby package store helps. Pubbing is good fun, and I'll get a few pints and a few car bombs there, but large bottles in the room...the way to go. Autographs hurt. $20 per autograph, most cases. So it depends who shows and how bad you want their sig. and how many times you want it.

It's way early for too many details/confirmations. We're getting an early start to save $ on tickets and make sure we get a decent room. in '04 Nathan, Adam, and Jewel were there. in '05 Nathan had to cancel to work, Adam, and Jewel returned and brought Morena and Ron with them. Based on their statement about how much they enjoy it, I expect Adam and Jewel back. Others depend on availibility and interest. Of course Adam and Jewel could be working and have to pass. But I doubt we'll have no one show.
The site will continue to update as more guests confirm and as some cancel. The www.dragoncon.org site will have the most accurate listing, though for some reason last year the were sure, Joss was going to show, though they never asked him and he was unavailable.
Don't panic yet. Nearly 7 months to go.

oh, not panicking, just curious!

I actually kinda answered my own question, after I posted that, I decided to look through the picture archives, they had a lot of pictures of Nathan, Jewel and Adam. I now have several more pictures of Nathan Pulling silly faces to ad to the collection (though that one on the back of the mule is still the hands down winner)

I was just curious, a lot of the jargon is hard to understand (like what they mean by 'track' exactly) but it all looks fun fun fun.

I'm happy, and soon my mother will be (she's a big fan of Nathans silly faces too...)

My understanding of 'Track" is : it's like a catagory of interest. there may be a Buffy Track, that contains all the events related to Buffy. A Star Wars Track for them, and a Horror movie track for those interested in that. Firefly/Serenity was part of the TV Sci-Fi track the last two years. Don't know if we've proven ourselves big enough to warrent our own track yet. Another detail to be determined.
I understand Nathan HATES that picture from the mule. Which is sad, 'cause it's great.

Humm... Probably mennonite, or maybe plig (as we call 'em in Utah--short for polygamist ). As good as your description is, I definetly don't wear gingham hand-made dresses with peter pan collars, and I know maybe one person in my church who actually does--hey maybe it was her that you sat next to on the plane!

Too bad about the smut, though. Airplane movies are less than quality. I guess that's why they show them on airplanes! Heh! Amen to airplanes are for sleeping--at least when you can sleep. International flights can be rough.

I new for sure it wasn't mormons, I had a good friend whose family was mormon, and apart from a few things, they seemed alright.

Sorry, I tend to call any religion that dictates the way you cut your hair a cult. (bad me! slap wristies)

Polygamist sounds like a possibility, I used to see them most when I worked in a shop in Victoria Station (a big train station, its the one you go to to get the train to Gatwick Airport or to visit Buckingham Palace)They would come in, three or so women all in these handstitched dresses in gingham or check, sensible shoes, braided hair, and usually accompanied by a guy, invariably dark suited. We figured they were sisters with a husband in tow until one of the guys asked for 9 separate gifts 'for his children' - which, one woman would be able to have, but consider that it was a cosmetics shop (Lush) and not really selling anything sutable for boys... 2 and 2 make...

Not that I have anything against these people(though those guys are bonkers - one wife will drive you to an early grave, why have three?) But the woman on the plane looked like the sort that really didn't get out much.

I was about to say that American Psycho wasn't smut, cause it isn't, at all. But I'm at a loss for what to describe it as. Its a satire of the 80's material greed culture, Christian Bale once again wipes (the blood off) the floor with his fellow actors, its a very good film, but NOT for the faint of heart...(or for aeroplanes)

Seryn, no worries about the "mo-jab". Absolutley no offense was taken, I assure you.

Pligs in the UK? Humm... very interesting! I totally agree that those guys are bonkers, cuz, well, they are! Your "one wife is enough" addage is the most logical argument for my/our assertion.

I haven't seen American Psycho, and I probably won't--especially if it fits into the horror genre. I know that I'm probably being close-minded, but it's more a way to protect my sanity (horror films tend to seep into my mind--I have a very vivid imagination). Eh, live and let live, right?

Anywho, back to the convention talk. I'll just see myself out of this thread until next week's installment--spare myself the jealousy.

Wacky fun!

Well, there normal butt cleaning, which they do cause, well, they feel that its needed, then theres the other sort, I suppose a better word would have been 'pointed' - where they do it right in front of you, or when you have guests, or on the lap of some guy you are trying to impress, or heaven forbid, on his mothers lap. Just simply because they know you hate it and will do anything in order to get them to stop.

Dogs have a similar trick where they go into your room and find the most embarrassing item of clothing you have (usually something very small and lacy from your underwear draw) and select random guests to give it too. in the middle of dinner.

Thats what my friend tells me any way, she has to westies, who do it all the time. Thankfully our dog is too afraid to go into my room.

Having had both dogs and cats, I can attest to them doing both those things.

And then there was the dog who would get so excited when I'd bring a boyfriend over that she'd piddle on the floor in front of him, and the other dog that liked to go through the bathroom trash during..um..that time of the month. THAT is embarrasing!

My cat once peed on a beanbag chair that a boyfriend brought over to my house. The boyfriend did NOT handle that very well. I think my cat was trying to assert himself as Alpha Male and was trying to show the guy that HE was boss. And I thought it was rather funny, which didn't help things. I bought the guy a new beanbag, but he never got over it. I still have my cat.

Well, I do wear bandanas often enough.

When you tuck the end under as you were describing, all piratey like, I call it a "doo-rag".

I have loads of bandanas in pretty colours. Tie dyed or baticked or with pretty prints. I wear them when I go hiking or roof houses or clean house and want to keep all the little whipsy strands out of my eyes.

A black bandana with the Serenity logo repeated on it doesn't really match much.

Except my Serenity logo shirt.

And my Serenity logo necklace.

And my Serenity jeans.

And my River shirt.

And my Team Random shirt.

And my 2 browncoat bracelets.

Okay, nevermind. I withdraw the "whatever shall I do with my Serenity Bandana?" question.

Sheesh, I've got an entire browncoat wardrobe, don't I?

CALLMESERENITY

I had a whole rennaisance-y outfit once and I used to wear pieces of it to work and school and whatnot. It was infinitely convertable. You can wear the skirt with a nice blouse, wear the corset with another shirt underneath and a pair of jeans, wear the poofy sleeves shirt with a vest (this was back when poofy sleeved shirts and vests were popular. Late 90's.) It was much fun.

Methinks Mai needs a nap!!

'84 and '87 live albums ? together? huh, Sounds like they put, 'Real to Reel' and 'Brief Encounter' together. Which is cool because they were both rather short. Both of course from back when Fish was lead singer. ".Com" has some brillent stuff in it from Hogarth. Glad you enjoyed them.

As for Browncoat wear there are some great fan made sites.
www.bluesunshirts.com
http://www.outtotheblack.com/shirts.html you can the orangey one I wore at new years here.
There's plenty more, and there's like to be many available at the con as well.

Yeah, it was Reel to Reel and Brief Encounter...springs to mind when you mentioned it, hehe.

yeah, they both sounded good, think I liked .Com better, though. I'll definitely be looking to pick it up next time I head up there.

No, I miss her input arounf here. She had mouse problems (for her computer) and was gone for a while. I sent her a pm, and she came back after getting a new mouse. Then vanished again. I'm not sure what's going on now.

So, there you are, having a dinner party, your parents are there, your in-laws are there, the minister and his wife are there. You're all settling down for a nice relaxing evening dinner...
...and then the dog walks in...
