I just got mine too! Its got a slight 'cheap' film feel to its packaging, but it's shiny all the same.

Having masterfully converted my sister to Firefly (and Wonderfalls!) she ordered the boxset off someone on Amazon, and he sent her the film, the english version (it is slightly funny looking, I demands a shiny tin!) 4 days ago! so she mails him and tells him, and gets back the reply 'ooops'

but the up shot is she kept the film and got the box set for only £5 extra. Jammy bitch...

but we is watching it constantly now. Sad little geekettes that we be.

why is I talking like this?

*on AUcitizens demise - no fair! I was looking forward to the episode where he appears in an Hawaiian shirt driving a caddi and drinking some brightly coloured cocktail. Then the roadrunner cartoon version of him.

Its just occured to me that Farscape reeeeaaally lost the plot for a while there.

I'm sorry but you have to have respect for a show that has a roadrunner cartoon moment.

You must also always always always respect a show that has a man wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

Idiot Stop it.

oh, not that I don't respect it, I loved the bones of it. (um, that doesn't seem right when typed that statement doesn't)

yes, any tv series that can successfully combine Aeryn Sun and Jessica Rabbit is a tv series that gains my respect.

The Hawaiian shirt wearing respect goes without saying.

Come now! 'Revenging Angel' is Farscape at it's freakishly amusing! No one does weeeiiird eps like Farscape!! Cartoon Scorpy! Cartoon D'Argo! Cartoon Aeryn!!

Such a classic. Almost as good as 'Scratch n Sniff'. Who can forget the infamous in-tights-in-the-window moment?

Oh, just watched THE DVD. Every damned microt of it. And later I shall be taking it round to friend's house so they can watch it, since they never went to see it at the cinema.

I'll let that sink in....

...

Yes, I have FRIENDS who NEVER WENT TO SEE SERENITY AT THE CINEMA.

Makes me wonder why they are still friends

'Sides, they need to see it so the other people in the Serenity RPG game I'm running for them all won't keep spoiling the gorram movie for them!

P.S. Did anyone spot the recent 'Howard The Duck' reference?

So do I, they were always too busy to go to a movie for a few hours. I wouldn't mind but mention something like the Princess diaries and they go and take the kids too.

Howard the Duck?

Yeah, you know the Overlords?

Rel may well have just become one. He stepped into the beam thingy when one was coming in I think. Remember? The Ferris Principal guy got turned into an Overlord of the universe. The little diner was never the same after that.

This Duck reference I do not know.
(fluffy bunnies) I know, and I think it's very funny that we all use it.

Oooo! I love Farscape! I'm converting a friend right now, so I get to watch it with a newb. The 'toon eps rock. Aeryn/Jessica. Tropical Scorpy. You have to push the edges to get to the brilliant, so yeah, some of it was weird, but they took chances.

Going into the light... gotta story, when don't I. I was staying at my sister's, having a slumber party with my niece who had a car accident the day before. First day she had her license, 2 weeks before they moved to Australia, she totals the car: trauma and a very annoyed mom. So next morning, my sis opens the bedroom door to tell my niece 'time to get up'. The hall light was very bright, the bedroom was verydark, my niece gets up, stands there for a sec, says "I'm going into the light now", and walks into the hall. I thought I was going to die laughing. Turned out she wasn't really awake, and didn't remember saying it later when I told her how hard she's made me laugh. Scary and funny!

*Nods* Farscape is an excellent show. A great blend of humour and action. Gotta love Rigel, or 'sparky' as Crichton calls him. Scorpious is an great villain and I loved the ickle DRD's too!

I agree with that.. The show wasn't scared to be experimental, or do its own thing.

....

*Looks at the time.*

Aaaargh! There's not long now until the R2 release of Serenity! I'm pulling my hair out here. I can't rutting wait!!

I wasn't saying Farscape was bad!

thats possibly one of my favorite shows ever, the only one (before Firefly) that I ever collected the series of. I mainly started watching it cause of the 'muppet' element. I wanted to see what they did with the none human(iod) characters, and then I was just lost from the get go.

I loved everylittlething about it, from the barely controlled anarchy to the wierd and experimental style of story telling, the crazy drunken cameramen, the technicolour inhabitants and the bonkers Brom-style villains, and especially the constant snarking and John's honest-to-god-human behaviour. I even managed to deal with the alien sex (nothing against sex, but it makes it a bit difficult to talk to your grandma (who was also a huge fan) about it with out blushing like a knickerless virgin in a wind tunnel) so, not knocking Farscape, in the slightest. I am much with the love of all things Farscape shaped.

Serenity, get the to a video rental place just as soon as you can. Or beg one of your fine countrymen (or women) to part with their sets for a little while. You will not regret it.

You know what? Its occured to me that we are sitting in a pixellated wood... and that I never learned to climb trees as a kid... and that, being pixellated, the ground ain't gonna hurt so much when it rushes up to hit you on the butt.

anybody fancy climbing trees with me?
