I think the Brain quote is from Pinky and the Brain. Kind of a catch phrase for Pinky.

It ussually went something like this:
Brain: Are you pondering what I'm pondering Pinky?
Pinky: Wuh, I think so, Brain, but if we didn't have ears, we'd look like weasels.

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!
You should never give powers to a leader you like that you’d hate to have given to a leader you fear

Thanks, Mattie!

But it's not a Family Guy quote, and it's not a Real Pinky and the Brain quote, either. It's a Private Joke that I couldn't expect you to get. But if some TREE folk thought long and hard about it, they just might figure it out.

And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

I am SO lysdexic! I can't believe that I read Brian for Brain. GOSH! How embarassing. It was fun, though, listening to my brothers drive my dad crazy with Family Guy quotes--it makes me feel better about doing the same thing with Firefly quotes.

Wacky fun!

Mattie: I'm so dyslexic, I had to go back and make sure I hadn't accidentally typed Brian instead of Brain!

I've never seen The Family Guy (mostly cuz I didn't have cable till not too long ago.) but I am told it's quite hilarious.

And don't be embarrassed! I think nearly half of us on this thread are dyslexic. We're all a bit crazy, though.

I have to agree with you and LMD and say that Family Guy is quite hilarious, too. Some of the best lines I know come from that show. Absolutely HI-larious!

These Chains - Marillion (Radiation)

Everything crashed
His wife left him
He lost all his money
And most of his friends
He lay awake all night
Lonely and desperate
Contemplating starting again
These chains are all your own
These chains are comfortable

Four in the morning
Sat in the kitchen
Keys on the table
Went out for a drive
He didn't know
Where he was going
Didn't know
If he was alive

The dawn was breaking
A new day was rising
Shadows creepin' over the fields
He watched the pink light
Steal across the horizon
He realised
He saw with new eyes

These chains are all your own
These chains are comfortable
This cage was never locked
Born free but scared to be
This cage was made for you
With care and constant attention
This cage is safe and warm
Will you die and never know what it's like
Outside

ha! theres a new add campaign in the Anne Summers store, outline of that ape to man evolution picture (like citizens ape to desk jockey picture) but the final picture is a rabbit, with the slogan 'better than man'.

It kinda made me smile, until I realised I was walking past a glorified sex shop with a goofy smile on my face...

Awww....
They're just for fun. Won't hurt, well, not in the bad way. And I didn't find Marillion until around 10 years later. They're completely safe and not connected to the origin of my ummm.. interests. So, yeah it's just me, love .

Honestly, I don't know the origin. Fear not. Just because the ideas have filled my head and I've collected a few tools, doesn't mean anything. I have yet to find the right person to play with. I just think that becoming familiar with the use and manipulation of physical bonds is helpful in overcoming the psychological ones placed upon us by "sociatal norms". Which is more wrong? Society saying pleasure is bad? Or a freak like me saying there are multiple paths to it, and they can be fun to explore?

Wait there's a Buffy sex shop? her full name is Buffy Anne Summers. *goes to look up this Anne Summers shop* Oh another place to order toys....

Sorry.

No, fine, always made me giggle slightly that Buffy (as is Buffy wasn't strange enough) shared her name with a chain of 'toy' shops in the UK.

Did Joss ever explain in and interview where he got the name Buffy from? I would be intrigued, if it wern't 7 in the morning.

It's a handy tool for writers, when they want to name their characters. I sometimes use it to name original characters in fan fic.

You name your guitars? Have you named them after any of the BDH's?

No, my first guitar was a red acoustic and I named it Kyrie, which means Redheaded in Gaelic (or so the books say). My baby Taylor is named Faith, and not after the slayer. I haven't named my electric yet. Nothing's come to me. I'm always open to suggestions, though.

Well what can you tell us about it? Strong? Subtle? Bright? Fiesty? Tempermental? Moody? A real show off or sort of a wallflower? You name the instrument for it's personality.

I know, and I think that's why I haven't quite named it yet. My guitar and I are still getting to know one another. It's a complex instrument. It's more than it seems. I bought it used, so I don't know where it's been, or what it's done in the past. It was taken good care of, though, that's certain. But it's a very reliable guitar with a nice clean sound. A good guitar, not showy, but pretty in a subtle way. I get a lot of compliments on it, though.

(I'm sure the non-guitar players think we're crazy for discussing guitar personalities, but it's the same for guitars as it is for cars. Each has their own unique personality.)
