current count: 3 pairs of headphones, 2 amplifiers, and a DAC...this is getting mighty expensive

Top 3 recommended to get you started. 'Brave' (play it loud with the lights off) 'Marbles', and 'Clutching at Straws'.
Enjoy!

I work surrounded by fashion victims, so although they can't get even a single postcard out even after a year, our museum show guides consistently show up halfway through the season and the lifts haven't worked since three weeks after we opened, they all have the latest ipods and gadget paraphrenalia(sp?) before the soldering has even cooled.

And not a single one of them has the origional, they've all had to go back for repair and replacement.

so i'm not buying one any time soon.

I was eying up a creative zen thing though, something tells me it will make nine hour of flying pass a little quicker....

I can think of things that would make a nine hour flight pass more quickly...

...Though the chances of finding a Rabbi and at least one live Chicken on a plane are fairly remote.

Thing is iPods are so easy to use, the others are just kind of also runs.

But the others work which is a big bonus.

Ooh, I've been away so long that I acutally had to log in on my home computer! Wow!

Now, to get away from all of this con talk...

Yesterday morning I was listening to one of my favorite radio talk shows--as I am want to do in the mornings--and a film critic guy was talking about this casting call he went to. Some comic dude (the creator of Spiderman, I forget his name) is hosting reality a show on the Sci-Fi channel where contestants compete to become the next super hero! How cool does that sound?! So, a question for everyone: If you could have ONE super power what would it be?

This one really got me thinking... Talk about embracing the innner nerd! But I'll save that for later.

Wacky fun!

yeah, I also read several reviews that said they were pretty reliable, and the specs match up even though the creative ones are actually cheaper most of the time.

Of course, unless my credit score dramatically improves, or I get a hugely overpaid job, I'm not gonna be getting one of them before Atlanta, but maybe if I save up afterwards.

My Superhero power is always, always has been always will be, Flying. Love the sensation of flying, I'd be the happiest human in the known universe if I could fly under my own steam. I wouldn't care if it was Superman style pointy flying or flying with wings or even grafted on mechanical wings a la China Mieville 'Re-made' style. Just as long as I could fly.

Though Wolverine style healing powers would be fine and dandy.
I'd never want to be a mind reader, but good perception so I could work people put from their actions would also be cool.

But flying flying flying all the way.

I had this really cool dream once where I was on a spaceship and we turned of the artificial gravity and I was floating. I could feel all the sensations and it was great.

I was just starting getting into the Lucid dreaming thing as well, so I had some control over what was happening. I was quite disappointed when I woke up.

Ha!

you just reminded me of one lucid dream I had, the only one, crazily enough also one of the very few to feature a recognisable face. Te'alc from SG1 was teaching me to swing on vines in one of those big forests that they have in SG! land, and I was swinging, then I was flying and I could control where I flew. It didn't last very long, but it was fabulous.

For several weeks after wards I repeated the routine, same food, same bit of book, same tv show watched before bed, but it never happened again.

The only other bit that could have been lucid dreaming whas wher I was talking to one of my guys and made my self reach out and hold his elbow (why his elbow I don't know) but i've never been eble to do it since (anything lucid I mean, not just grabbing elbows)

Its not so much the affect on skin or whatever, i've heard of that sort of thing, I even had a chocolate massage bar thing when I worked in lush. Its the immersion thing that worries me. No matter how hard I try I can't get past the squishiness.

OK, I can see i'm gonna have to get graphic.

I agree with you about flying. I absolutely LOVE the sensation, but I would prefer it if I could fly without the help of wings. The one catch I have is that I'd like to have Rogue-esque powers where I could give people my ability to fly instead of suck away their powers. Sharing is so nice.

And JH and LMD, of course you can have black and purple light sabers--who'm I to say no to you?! I'm not George Lucas (thank goodness, although all that money would be nice!)and even if I were I'd still say you could.

Oh, and I want to wish CMS and JH a very Happy Ren Faire weekend!

What is Shatterpoint about? Is it part of the Star Wars genre? Yes, I'm giving Star Wars a genre of its own.

Also, do Jedi get to choose their color, or is it assigned to them? Is it like some karate thing where you gradually work your way up to the green light saber (isn't Yoda's green?), or do you just graduate from apprentice to Master? Humm... I'm not all that familiar with the whole Star Wars thing, I just watch the movies.

Wacky fun!

The thing I love about pirate fashion is, for their age they dress like rock stars! Rags to riches and everywhere in between. They wear what they like and they don't care if they a breaking the rules, after all they're pirates.

"Arr, matey what be ye thinking of me hat?"

"Looks silly."

"The I best be havin' yer guts fur garters then."

""Well on second thought it does accentuate your profile and compliment your eyes."

"Arr good lad, may just kill you tomorrow instead."

You can start a pirate costume on a shoe string, baggy pants, loose shirt, head scarf, earring, eye patch, a dagger and a belt. Accept for people like Bartholemew Roberts, (the Original Black Bart and Dread Pirate Roberts) all pirates started off poor. As you go you can make your costume more and more wild and exspensive. Dressing as a pirate at a Renn Faire is very freeing. You don't have to respect the nobles. You're a brash young turk and the world is yours for the taking. You can do what you want and it's cool. The thing is that historically there have always been pirates and I'm guessing there always will be, so long as there is unpoliced waters or space to navigate.

Ah, can you imagine it? Free reign to let loose all those insults you've been storing up for so long, and wear whatever the hell you like and be 'sniffed' at by scandalised stuffy types (not that you get many actual stuffy types at a faire, but you know, acting...) I just need to move to places where they have these things.

Don't pity me for once I was just like you!

Well I was never a woman, not to my knowledge anyway, but anything is possible, specially with these bastards running things...

I'm watching that ghostboat thing on ITV, it's weird. It is weird isn't it? It's not just me.

Well I know I'm weird, but I was talking about the program...
