Uh-oh...now y'all have done it. He's on a roll. ;)

But actually caffeinated beer already exists. In the US, Anheuser-Busch has BE (it's actually B to the E power, but that's hard to write on the board here). It tastes like Budweiser mixed with Red Bull. A-B also produces Spykes, which is a caffeine, ginseng and guarana malt beverage that you can add to beer in flavors like chocolate and mango. They serve it at the beer pavilion at Sea World here in Orlando.

And Jimi--I think the pyramid rotates according to how tired or sober you are. *g* Or at least it does for me.

I'll try to remember to put one back for ya, they'll be at the SEBC table this year for a fundraiser. And the flaking just makes it "vintage", you know!

Yeah, I saw that...I showed up in several little shots in DTI in addition to the interview sections. I'm just everywhere...kinda like a fungus...

OH, and what's up with this gorram hurricane????

It's now looking like it might be headed MY way! We're hoping it will hook further south, and we'll miss it, or go further north, and we can get out of Dodge before it makes landfall, because Mark says he is NOT driving up in a hurricane (we have a compact car..can't say I blame him there -- we did it two years ago in a 15-passenger van with a professional truck driver, and that was scary enough!)

All fingers, toes, and paws crossed here for this thing to go wide (sorry, Gulf coast!) or hook severely right and miss us and everything in the SE. My mom will be here babysitting the dogs, and although we're in a no-evacation zone and nice and high, I really don't want to leave her here by herself with a hurricane headed this way either.

Here's hoping I make it to D*C!!!!

And in a funny, we were watching the weather channel this am and as it was ending, I was trying to choose between two nail polishes and I said, "So, the Dragon*Con color of the week is..."

and Mark replied, "Ernesto Scaredy-Cat Yellow?"

And then a bumper came up with all the little red hurricane flags and I said, "No, Hurricane-Flag Red!"

Gotta laugh, or you'd cry...

Yeah, I have seen the B^e and one called Sparks, never heard of the Spykes. In any case, mixing the watered down taste of Budweiser with the not so pleasant taste of Red Bull sounds outright disgusting to me. I plan to make a sweet stout, using lactose as a sweetened as previously mentioned, and it should be %7-9 alcohol when I am done with it. Now all I have to do is find caffeine in volume so I am not stuck crushing up No-Doze pills.

Spykes is surprisingly good. The chocolate flavor is good in a dark lager. I like them because you can shoot them straight or drop them into a lager/beer.

The sweet stout sounds good. :)

Got another day or so to work out what's happening, but if it doesn't intensify too much, we might even start up a little earlier to try to get ahead of the worst of it. You may find us napping on couches in the Marriott lobby sometime Thurs. if our room isn't ready yet!

We'll miss you Adam.

If it comes down to it I might be able to put you up, so long as you don't mind kids and cats and probably sleeping on the floor. I'm right off of I-75 on the way up. Lemme know soonish so I can clear it with the wife, cuz I have to work Wednesday night 4-11:30 and I would want to be here when you arrived.

Well, it sucks all to hell that Adam had to cancel. Got to be happy for the man though as he is cancelling due to work. Man's got to feed his family and meet his commitments, and that ain't nothin'.

We'll just have to drink one for him browncoats.

About the Thursday trivia contest: will it be right at the Browncoats table? Should we gather up chairs and arrange them around in a semi circle, or will people gather up elsewhere nearby?

That's too bad about Adam, but you know he had to have a good reason to cancel, because he's loved the past two appearances. Heck, he was able to rearrange his schedule one time so that he could at least attend part of the con. Definitely liked to do all he could to see the fans.

We're going to play the trivia contest by ear. If we can accomodate everyone around the tables, we'll pull up chairs and have at it there. If we seem to be out growing that area, we'll migrate to a lounge area. Sound good?

And just so you all know, I updated the list of Serenifly events on the yahoo group. Lot's of changes since they added some panels and moved some panels

So excited now. I'm going to be completely useless at work tomorrow...

Ok, also, it looks like some times have shifted and made saturday very busy.

Also of note. The Bedlam Bards! with be at the Art Crawl from 5-10 Friday and Sat. I plan to see them Fri. after the evening panel and dinner perhaps. as Sat has become busy (panel Wake, Shindig setup, Shindiggery!) Might catch a bit after the wake, as I think it's more of a stop by than a hang out.

Well, I'm packing now. My flight leaves at 7 am, and I should be in Atlanta by noon. See you there!

And yes, KarenKay, it honors my honor to be considered an honorary SOB!
