Yup!

I put his food outside so he had to go through the cat door to get it. And he gets a treat if he comes back in. But, he's still terrified.

Even the evil cat walking unadded through the flap and eating his food hasn't enticed him to be brave.

LOL.

It's weird, because he's normally quite brave. He's a bit of a tiger sometimes.

But he's also very upset because the grands just left this morning to go on a trip and they've been packing and I've been packing and then there's this new door and I think he just doesn't handle change well. He spends most of his time hiding in a box.

So he thinks everyone is leaving, and he's trying to pack himself so he can be taken along?

I think he has a fear of abandonment.

Apparently every day at about 5:10 he goes and sits in the window and waits for me to come home. And he will sit there until I come home. If I don't come home, or if I come home late, he gets very very upset.

Isn't that both sad and cute?

Maybe he needs a pet to make him feel better?

Or maybe just some catnip.

I only know how old my kitty was because he was TEENY tiny, could sit in my hand. Just a little orange puffball. And I had to give him special cat milk at first, 4 times a day and wash his little face afterwards because he had a hard time adjusting from sucking to lapping.

He was really too young to be away from his mother, but she abandoned him, poor thing. We think his mother was very young and he was from her first litter.

Anyway, I decided to step the cat door war up a notch. I moved the food and water outside, plus the litter boxes (too many gorram cats!). And I shut off the room the litter boxes were in, so they have no choice but to go outside. Or pee on the carpet, which I really hope doesn't happen.

I was gonna change the topic to something NOT about cats, because I'm so afraid I'm turning into a crazy cat lady. But there you go!

There were some real ugly people making music, but at least it was music.

Quote:

Heinz's slogan for over a century has been "57 Varieties" even though when it was established Heinz had over 60 products. Snopes.com notes:

It was in 1896 that Henry Heinz came up with ["57 Varieties" slogan]. This catch phrase had nothing to do with the actual number of varieties produced by H. J. Heinz, though, which by then totalled over 60 (including plum pudding, strawberry preserve, India relish, olive oil, spaghetti, euchred pickle, currant jelly, chili sauce, peanut butter, and celery soup). Rather, Heinz was riding an elevated train in New York when he spied an advertising placard in the train car promoting "21 styles" of shoes; struck by the concept, and recognizing that catchiness and Heinz resonance were far more important qualities for a company slogan than literal accuracy, Heinz cast about for the perfect number to use for his own company's version of the phrase. Settling on fifty-seven, Heinz soon put the number to work, and within a week the sign of the green Heinz pickle bearing the words "57 Varieties" was everywhere Heinz "could find a place to stick it." He soon ordered the construction of a six-story, twelve-hundred-light display featuring a forty-foot pickle; installed at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 23rd Street in New York City, this electric marvel dazzled New York residents and tourists until 1906.

It is also believed that Henry Heinz was a freemason[citation needed], and 57 was a sacred number of the occult.
