"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

I was wondering about that...

At the moment though, I think (and I haven't done enough research yet) I'm leaning towards Zoid's position. I not much of a joiner. You have no idea how much of an aberration this is for me, belonging not to one but two online communities of Browncoats. Guess that says something about the way I feel toward the show/movie/y'all. I have never experienced a fellowship with so many, and it feels damn good.

"Well, here I am."

SPACEANJL

So...a few years back, I was going through a bad period of writer's block, when I turned on the tv and there were two guys fencing, so I stopped to watch and one of them turned out to be bald and strangely hot and I was watching Smallville. And something fanfic went off in my head and out of Lex Luthor's intials came 'AnJL', and 60,000+ words. I had a fansite dedicated to me and everything (v. weird.)

A few years passed, and I was going through a bad period of writer's block, when I saw a film trailer and my nice husband bought me the box set of the series it was based on, and gorram I was a Browncoat. So, having forgotten my old password like a dumbass, I had to create a new account. What with the ship, it had to be...SpaceAnJL. (I was in a hurry) 75,000+ words and counting.

There ain't nothin' heavenly about this body

SIGMANUNKI

Some Sumerian info about Nunki:

http://www.mazzaroth.com/ChapterThree/SumerianInfoOfAnnunaki-Anakim.ht
m

"""
Under the star names of Sagittarius \sigma is Greek letter Sigma with Bold and Underline Nunki which is an untranslated ancient Babylon proper name. The Babylonians thought this star was the heavenly counterpart to their city Ridu, sacred to the god Ea (forms the handle of the teapot with Tau). In the Akkadian language, Sagittarius is called Nunki which means "The Prince of the Earth." The Sumerian King List mentions five cities existing before the Flood; Eridu, Bad-tibiria, Larak, Sippar, and Shuruppak. As you would suspect Ridu is the same as Eridu.
"""

So, a (the capital?) city of the gods, prince of the earth... Well, I found that cool enough to make it my handle those years ago.

And that's pretty much the story.

Anyway, I liked the sound of it and took it as my screen name[although I am not as serene and grounded as she].

REGINAROADIE

my handle is two parts. One simple, and one mult-ilayered.

Regina = Because I live in the booming metropolis of Regina, Saskatchewan. I've been living here for the last five years now and actually consider this place to be my actual hometown, even though I lived an hour and a half away on a farm near my real hometown of Mossbank. People may deride Regina, but I love it. It's like a really big small town, and it has a bunch of things that almost no other place in Saskatchewan has.

Roadie = Three reasons. 1) Because I'm a rocker and think it would be really cool to be a roadie for a band. 2)I love driving and road trips and for the last four months I've been basically living out of my car. And 3) It's just something I'd love to do for the rest of my life. My folks have traveled around the world and it kinda rubbed off on me. And even if I could afford to, I'd rather drive to a place than fly or take any other mode of transportation. There's a mythic quality to being on the road that I love that you don't get with flying.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"There's only one "Return" ok, and it ain't "of the King", it's "of the Jedi."

"Maybe we should start calling your friend 'Padme' because he loves 'Mannequin Skywalker' so much, Right? (imitating robot) Danger...danger...my name is Anakin...my shitty acting is ruining saga."

I, myself, was a huge Trekkie... why we got along so well is beyond me! lol, anyhow she went around our group of friends giving us each a SW nickname. Being that I was the tallest of our group I ended up with Chewie. I hated it! But it stuck... next thing I know its 13 odd years later and everyone still calls me Chewie. My nieces even call me Aunt Chewie, and I wouldn't change it for the world. ;)

Yin and Yang - eastern philosophy for bad and good, and that whole balancing game they play. Er, Seryn is from my email, which is a variation on serendipity, the y is there because my family appears to have a dislike of the letter 'i' and will replace it with a 'y' or even just wedge a y in wherever possible (on a mildly interesting note, my sisters middle name is Jayne, and i was thinking of calling myself 'Jayne IS a girls name' but knew i'd get sick of typing it afore long)

Hmm. I was Tristan before I had a computer; I used it while in the SCA (don't worry, I am no longer a member) and also for Ren Faires afterwards. Everywhere I am online I use some version of Tristan, be it alone or with numbers after it. I honestly think more people know me by that name than by my birth name!
I did not shoose it because of the Arthurian link; I actually liked the various translations: in Welsh, it meant "noisy one" or "laborer" (not sure why the odd pairing); in French, triste means "sad"...so, I am the sad, noisy laborer!

DTUCK

DTuck is an amalgamation of my first initial, and part of my last name. Nothing fancy here.

Though, for some reason, FFF.net was a bit kerflunkered in the early days, so my original screen-name, CitrusBlast, became un-log-in-able.

I use CitrusBlast, or CB, everywhere else.

That came from one of those "gotta pick a screenname to enter a chatroom" moments, and I was tired of inputting my old(er) name of VincentVentrescaWannaBe, so I looked around for inspiration... and came upon a generic soda can on my desk, with the slogan "A Blast of Citrus Flavor!" ... So, I became CitrusBlast.

MORDACIL

Its a mutant, that is the enemy, or a mutant enemy...but Mordacil come from when i used to play starcraft in seventh grade, i needed a cool (to me) name and had jsut finished Tolkiens Silmarillion and saw the Quenya(elvish) suffix/prefix index in teh back, so...mor- = dark, -dacil = victor, you can see the root mor in mordor, morgoth, etc.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one, so I joined starfleet and was stationed at the SGC to fight the covenant, whos gate happens to be down, and through which I must cast the ring from whence it came. It was our last best hope for peace but it failed so millions of voices cried out and were suddenly silent but there was no spoon and also no fate but what we make for ourselves.

Mine started because I used to play a Game called Giants at Uni (only as research into computer simulations, you understand) in which was a character named Citizen Kabuto.

I then Started playing Counter Strike where my name changed to Citizen Suicide, because of my tactics that involved running at the opposing side with a knife.

And then getting shot.

At some point which I'm not particularly sure of it changed to Citizen Pain (probably around the time I actually got good...) partially as a nod to my abillities to inflict pain on my opponents (god that I was...) and partly as a fairly transparent nod to Citizen Kane.

I've gradually dropped the pain part (though it still follows me to this day to some degree), but that's the story of my name.

It's an acronym for something that started back in University about 10 years ago. At that time the Unix systems still allowed the "finger" command, which would display information about a user on the system, such as Name, Address, etc., according to what the user had entered. Can't remember the reason why, but for my name I put "Names are for lesser men", which became the acronym "naflm" because I ccouldn't put spaces into an email address (although I probably could have used periods instead).
