I noticed that we have some threads for other shows on here that we like (Heroes, Battlestar Galactica), so I'm hoping that I can start a SOUTH PARK thread since season 11 has started up again.

Of all the seasons they've had, seasons 6 and 9 are my favorites. Like I think that they have the strongest seasons in terms of episodes. Season 10 was OK. I marveled at the leaps in animation they had, since there were eps that had actual particles for snow, making it look realistic instead of the spitballs they had in the first few years.

But so far with season 11, they had some good stuff. Last weeks ep was kinda funny with Randy and the whole "nigger-guy" deal and Cartman beating up a little person was some good shock humor (plus I loved the POLTERGEIST joke they made). But this weeks ep "Cartman Sucks" was just so funny adn wrong at the same time. Of just how merciless Cartman is towards Butters and how it ends up backfiring horribly, like in the "A.W.E.S.O.M.O." episode. And the whole gay camp thing Butters was sent to really hit the whole hypocrisy of such practices on the head with the different boys all killing themselves and the flaming pastor and the utter confusion that's heaped on these boys. And through all of that, it all just rolls off of Butters like water on a duck's back. I always liked Butters since no matter what abuse is heaped on him (and Lord knows that the only constant in his life), he just keeps a positive attitude and doesn't let it bog him down.

Fave quote of the ep was at the very end when Cartman shows the infamous picture to the class.

"Yes. This is shot at a 5.6 aperture using a low light filter. You can see the grain from the high speed film, there's sort of a penis in my mouth right here, and the low depth of field keeps the background soft."
"Eric, what the hell is this!!!"
"What this is, is a statement against the war in Iraq. It's wrong that we have our troops still there. It's WRONG!"

Oh God. THE SIMPSONS is running on fumes, but SOUTH PARK just gets stronger with every year.

Yeah, this season's off to a good start. Hopefully they can keep it up.

They've been on an upward swing lately, since season 9. Not saying it was bad, but compared to how great seasons 5 - 7 were, it was off the mark.

This season's opener ("With Apologies to Jesse Jackson") has got to be one of the funniest openers they've ever had.

Still though, I'm amazed that the show's been on THIS long.

I just bought the Team America DVD...

Sweet Boneless Christ that's funny!

Haven't laughed that hard in like... ever!

I'm trying to memorize the lyrics to We're Gonna Need a Montage since I've got that tune stuck in my head now!

Is there a Team America thread?

SINGATE

Butters absolutely kills me everytime he talks. Don't know episode names because I haven't been watching regularly in a few years.

1. The episode where his mother tries to drown him because she finds out her husband has been having homosexual liasons is hysterical.

2. Who could forget the greatest villain tandom ever, Professor Chaos and General Disarray? Not to mention his minions.

3. Butters at the kennel after taking a throwing star to the head.

That's all I've got off the top of my head. Completely agree about many of the side characters deserving their own show. Two of my other favorites are Towelie and Tweak. Talk about the odd couple.

The first one you mentioned was in the ep that was devoted purely to Butters. Fave line in the ep was "Wow, honey. You've painted the entire house...three times already!"

Last weeks ep was a bit blah. The only bits I liked was when the Lice President said "If the planet was conscious, it would feel this!!!" Shoots his gun into the ground, then cuts to Craig walking dwon the street and go "Ow!" nonchalantly.

Biggest laugh was at the end when it was revealed that the new lice colony that has survived for generations was in the pubic hair of Angelina Jolie. That made me laugh to no end.

Tomorrow night's episode is supposed to be a lot better. It's supposed to be a spoof on 24 that involves Hilary Clinton and Cartman as Jack Bauer. I can't wait to see what they do with this one.
