Did anyone visiting Ireland happen to lose a chihuahua? And a woman in her early 30's?

I'm working about 10 minutes away from a Garda (police) station in Store Street, Dublin city. Last Sunday, a woman walked into this Garda station. She was dressed in black and was carrying a chihuahua dog. And she had no idea who she was.

She's been under psychiatric care since, but the Gardai here have launched an appeal for help as they are no closer to finding out who this mystery woman is. She seems to have a Candadian or possibly an American accent. She's also able to speak French. Physically, she's tall - 5'10" - slim, and has hazel eyes and collar length brown hair.

She has three tattoos. Two are described as "Arabic style writing" - one on her left upper arm, the other on the back of her neck, and the third is a Celtic design on the back of one of her legs.

The full story can be found here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/7029011.stm - So pass the word on to anyone you think might be able to help. Thanks!

Good grief, DTH!

On reading the subject line on the main page
I thought this might be a joke about our (US)
dear Paris Hilton and her well-known chihuahua
Tinkerbell.

But it's for real.

Please keep us up to date.
I hope her family can be found.

I wonder if they checked the dog for a microchip?

I hope they figure out who she is soon.

Geez, I didn't think about Paris Hilton. We're fairly sure it's not her though

As for the dog, I think checking for a microchip would have been one of the first things the Gardai would do, so I'm guessing that turned up diddly. Good suggestion though!

Bright idea to check dog (and human, FWIW) for
chips.
I'm pretty sure it's not our girl Paris, DTH,
but a snap of the dog would help. Tinkerbell
might have run away from all the publicity.

I'm still wondering what happened to the mystery
man who was found in England (I think) who played
the piano quite well and otherwise didn't know
a thing. Been a long time since I first heard
that story.

Last time I was in Ireland I found a women in her late 20s. But there were no tinny dogs involved.

If I had to get lost, Ireland is one of the places I would like it to be. Hope they figure it out.
