So was anyone else blown away by the season premiere last night? Looks like there's gonna be lots of 'flash-forwarding' until the end. But the biggest surprise they unveiled last night was...

The 'Oceanic 6'??? WTF?

Well, we know Jack, Kate and Hurley make it off the island... any guesses as to who the other 3 might be?

In last season's finale, Kate said to Jack in the flash forward, "I have to get back to him." Who is "him"? I'm gonna guess Sawyer. But, when he walked away with Locke, Hurley, and co., I got the faintest feeling that he may die before the end of the series.

So, there is the chance that she got back together with her husband. Possible return of Nathan to "Lost"? A browncoat can only hope!

While I'm wondering about that with Kate, I'm also wondering if she's still on the run from the law, or if part of the apparent hush-hush deal was that all the charges were dropped and she's now a relatively free woman.

I think the other three might be Claire, Aaron and maybe Sawyer. Everyone else I'm guessing is either dead or they themselves have become Others, with John becoming their new leader. I think that's what's going to happen with John.

And yes, more flash forwards. I was always more interested in what would happen to them after they get off the island. So this new angle has really stoked my interest in the show from a mere "OK, whatever" to "I now have to know what happens next."

Well in the new episode yesterday in the flash forwards, they kept talking about leaving "them" behind. So, there are more that survived, but only six got off the island. I imagine Rose and Bernard are still there because the island took her cancer away. (I hope so, I love them!) And if Locke is still living, he would be there too.

But one person who needs to leave the island in a hurry is Sun because she's pregnant. So, I hope she got off the island with Jin before it got too late into her pregnancy.

Btw, did anyone catch the Star Wars reference in the previews for next week?

Is it "I'm here to rescue you"? The Lost writers seem to be major Star Wars fans - lots of references.

As to Kate's "him," I'm hoping she's referring to her husband. I could stand to see a little more of our Captain on Lost.

Speaking of dead, what about the funeral that Jack went to in the last episode of last season? Any thoughts as to whether that person may be one of the six?

No clue on that. Maybe Ben? Be the only person I can think of who if he were to go back to the mainland would have a funeral that only Jack would attend.

I thought it was Locke, but in the paper article about the funeral, it says that the person was from New York. Could it be Michael? He was from New York.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I am a huge fan of Lost, consider it to be the best show since Firefly (not better than, mind you).

I love the new direction they are taking the show. We've already seen so many flashbacks that there is little new we could learn about the characters pre-crash. Now that the producers know exactly how many episodes they have left, I am sure the next three years are going to be some awesome tv.

I only have guesses as to who the Oceanic Six are. We know about Jack, Kate and Hurley already. I would hope one of the others will be Sun, so that her pregnancy can come to full term and she will survive, but that does not mean Jin will be with her. Desmond's vision that involved Charlie's death indicated Claire would be "rescued," but we have reason to suspect the boat people do not have the best of intentions regarding the Losties or The Others, so just because they pick her up does not mean she gets off the island permanently. My most reasoned guess is that the Six also include Sun, Sayid and Sawyer, although I don't think it is Sawyer who Kate is with now, but rather Kevin (Nathan).

As for who was in the coffin, it's either Michael, Locke or Ben (or someone we have not met yet).

It saddens me to say, but the person in the coffin could be Hurley. We don't specifically know whether Hurley's flash-forward takes place before or after Jack's, and it appeared that Jack really cared about whoever was in that coffin. For me, that rules out Ben, Locke and Michael. Just my $0.02, though.

But no one else showed up for the funeral besides Jack. If it had been Hurley I see no reason Kate's reply would have been "Why would I want to do that?" or whatever it was she said when Jack asked her about it. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to remember Hurley and honor him. Jack's flash-forward in last year's finale was definitely later in the timeline than Hurley's in this newest episode.

Oh, it was definately before Jack's flash forwards. Jack and Hurley were talking about him growing out a beard, which he really didn't have at the time. And, I think also that Kate would have made an effort to make it if it were Hurley's funeral.

Also, that coffin was fairly small. And unless Hurley decided to get his stomach stapled before he died, I don't think they would have been able to fit him in there. My money's on Ben.

Speaking of Hurley, is there anyone whose a little disappointed that Hurley's not as much of a comic relief as he was a the beginning of the series? Yeah he still gets some laughs now and then, and even in this ep when he got excited when the cop told him he could send him to a mental institute, or when Charlie's ghost smacked him. But his thing is the whole "I'm cursed by the numbers" plotline and is a bit of a sad sack. Which can be great at times, but I still would like to see more actual humor in the show, since the show does tend to take itself way too seriously. Part of the reason I love HEROES so much is because it actually has humor in it. And even though Hiro is the quote unquote comic relief that does have a lot of serious shit happen to him, he never loses his idealism and excitement over what's happening around him. He still yells "Flying Man!" when he sees Nathan.

Also, when HEROES screws up, they do admit to it and try to fix it as soon as possible, whereas with LOST, they always fall back on the whole "it'll all make sense in the end" excuse.

I dunno. Still psyched for the seven remaining episodes.

NEEDY

The road to Hel is paved with good intentions

I LOVED the opening episode, I really didn't want it to end

Although I hate to say it, I did think that the "he" that Kate had to get back to might not be Sawyer or her hubby, but her son. Son? What? I hear you cry. But if she does indeed get pregnant by Sawyer (sperm count is five times the normal on the island!) then the him could very well be her own child.

As for the coffin, my bet's on Michael. Listening to the Lost panel at comic con, Harold Perrineau said something about the newspaper article mentioning the man was from new york and had a son. Someone also said the name in paper began with a J, but I'm guessing after what Michael did, he may very well have used an alias.

All guessing I know, but in the finale when Jack goes to the funeral, he's asked if he's a friend or family, and he replies "neither". I'd say this fits with Michael who, having made many enemies because of his betrayal, would not have any of the losties show up to his funeral.
Why Walt wouldn't be able to make it though is another question

LWAVES

Yeah the first episode was great.

I'm one of the fans who actually likes the fact that they don't give you the answers. Yes I want answers to the major stuff by the time the show ends, but I'd also like some stuff to be left open, or have enough clues left that you figure it out on repeated viewings when your brain isn't puddled trying to work the main plots out.

"I have to get back to him." -
My main guess would be Sawyer, he wouldn't be too happy if he found out Kate was seeing Jack, however innocently it may be. A son is a possibility, especially if you go with the idea that Sawyer doesn't make it off the island. Too early to say yet.
I don't think she's on the run anymore either, it seemed too easy for her just to turn up at the airport.

"Desmond's vision that involved Charlie's death indicated Claire would be "rescued," but we have reason to suspect the boat people do not have the best of intentions regarding the Losties or The Others, so just because they pick her up does not mean she gets off the island permanently." -
Exactly my thought when it was first mentioned last season. Des never said they got rescued and he never said she got off the island, just that they get into a helicopter. They could get out again a few minutes later.

The body in the coffin is an odd one.
The non 'friend or family' mention could mean a few people. It's small enough that it could be Walt's and Michael may still be on the island.
Ben is an obvious one, he could possibly have been in New York with his Dad before going to the island and that would explain the newspaper article.
I don't think it's Locke, I think he'd sooner die than leave the island.

And a new point:
When Hurley saw Jacob's cabin and the face/eye looked out, anyone think it looked like Christian Shepherd, Jack's Dad?

Yeah I didn't really notice that at first, I just assumed it was the jacob that was glimpsed before. But I think it was on the UK podcast one of the hosts made a similar comment then I remembered... John Terry (who plays Christian) was listed in the credits for the episode, but didn't appear any where else. So I'd say pretty definitely it was him
