No better feeling than this. Win the Super Bowl, and destroy the 'perfect season' of the Pats. Great game, glad my guys won :)

Great game. I've only recently developed a real interest in the game and this was the first Super Bowl I've ever sat down and watched all the way through. I went in hoping the Giants would win but figuring that the Patriots would. I'm glad I was wrong. They fought hard the whole way through and earned that win.

Is it just me or was Belichick walking off the field kinda an lame thing to do? I get he just lost a possibly flawless winning streak but come on support your team buddy. I'm not a seasoned sports fan but to me that looks like a poor loser.

And why do people always rave about the commercials? Only a couple were even funny. The rest were either ok or just plain stupid.

Belichick is notorious for being a bad loser, and seeing as how heavily favored New England was before the game, it probably made this loss really hard for him to swallow.

I agree about the commercials this year. They were mostly pretty poor.

I do feel bad for the guy though. He seemed heart-broken afterwards. Doesn't excuse leaving the field though.

I like the Patriot players, but Belichick is a bum. He showed no class in winning and less in losing.

I guess the Packers really were better than the Pats. In the giants last game they could only tie Green Bay in 4 quarters, but against NE that was enough to beat them.

Belichek was just ticked off he wasn't allowed to cheat with spy cams like te rest of the games.

Congratulations to the Giants but can a team be considered 'world' champions when you don't actually let the rest of the world play?

There's a Scotsman on the team; Lawrence Tynes is his name. He's one of the kickers. But, yeah.. I've always been confused by that terminology, when it's only set in one country. O.o

Anywho..

I'm REALLY pleased for the Big Blue Posse. Last season, they had so many injuries, Eli had seemingly lost his mo-jo, and I was screaming at the telly most matches. (Mostly at Eli Manning.) I'm still cringing at that match they had with Chicago last year. Longest yardage for a TD, my ar**. *Shakes fist.*

It's quite a turnaround this season though. They've worked hard to get back into a good rhythm, and smoothe out the problems on and off the field they had last year. (I think they switched the coaches around for this season? Albeit, behind the scenes?) The rookies have done well this season, and I think that's helped Eli (and the team) to an extent.

It was a close match. Congrats to the Big Blue Posse!

The best thing about the NY Giants winning the SB? How dumb all the sportscasters looked throughout the playoffs.

Giants vs. Tampa Bay - every single sportscaster picked TB to win. They were wrong. Giants vs. Dallas - every single sportscaster picked Dallas to win. They were wrong. Giants vs. Green Bay - every single sportscaster picked GB to win. They were wrong. Giants vs. the Perfect Patriots - yep. They did it again. 100% wrong.

4 games in a row, and no one gave them a chance, not one. You'd think after the 2nd or 3rd win someone would have said 'gee, you know, this team is pretty good, and they might win'.

I can give the Giants a lot of credit for winning their games but this wansn't a great game by any stretch. Up until the last 5 minutes it was the most boring Super Bowl ever. In fact this entire playoff season was pretty damn boring due in large part to the Giant's style of play. The only highlight for me was the Seattle/Green Bay game in the snow. No I'm not Green Bay fan, it was just a lot of fun to watch.

They are known as Super Bowl Champions.

"world champions" is rarely or never used in Footbal. Baseball yes, football no.

Sticking to a methodical gameplan can seem boring, that is unless it makes you win. Yesterday's game was a classic confrontation of a determined defense up against a record-setting offense. The Giants game plan was brilliant, and their execution was flawless.

There are a lot of football fans that are not happy unless the game ends 41-38 and the teams are marching up and down the field.

These are usually the same fans who can't appreciate a 1-0 baseball game for the beautiful pitching performances.

And also the reason why soccer will never be a popular professional sport in the US.

Just dropping in to say one thing.

I don't give a good gorram about football, the championship, who wins, who loses. So I'm one New Englander you won't hear ranting and raving about the Pats' loss - now I need to go find the other one. So if anyone had a notion to razz me and mine about it, you needn't bother. I've got better things to do yesterday and today.

I am a giants fan even though I had grown sort of cold to football in my old age, but I will admit that I was one of those few who while I was rooting for the Giants I didn't really believe they could do it.

Great game! I'm a defense guy so it wasn't boring at all to me. To me, the most boring Super Bowl was the one where Dallas beat Buffalo really bad. (Twice in a row I believe?) but one was just a blow out by halftime. There were 3 lead changes in the 4th quarter in this one! Even though it wasn't high scoring, I was on the edge of my seat, cause I knew either team could strike at any moment.

I'm not a Giants fan, but I do like Eli. (I'm an Ole Miss fan). I absolutly hate the Pats, so I was glad to see someone feed them some humble pie!

Oh, and to the Browns fan...you've got a great team to watch now. Congrats! I respect all the Brown fans that hung in there with them. Of course, you'll understand if I don't pull for them with you. I'm a Steeler fan that bleeds black and gold!!! ;-p

This win was especially sweet for me as I've been a NY Giants fan since I was a kid. (grew up in Brooklyn, NY). I was there through the terrible Scott Brunner years, was in heaven for the first Phil Simms Super Bowl, and nearly had a heart attack when Norwood attempted (and missed) the FG against the Hostetler-led NY Giants in the 20-19 nailbiter against the Bills.

They were blown out against an exceptional Ravens defense a few years back, and I wasn't sure how long I'd have to wait to see them back on the big stage, but Eli (and especially the defense) came up huge. Looks like Tiki picked the wrong year to retire.

I know how you feel. I remember losing Super Bowl XXX to the Cowboys. That was a terrible feeling. I knew the Steelers had won 4 in the Bradshaw era, but I was beginning to wonder if they would ever win one in my lifetime! All the AFC Championship games we lost were heartbreaking. We could go far in the playoffs, but never far enough. Then Big Ben came in and went 15-1 his rookie year. The next year...Super Bowl victory! I was on cloud nine!

I remember the Giants/ Bills game. I was going for the Bills cause the center, (Kent Hull), is a friend of my family. I know people make fun of them for going to the big game 4 years in a row and never winning, but I always say to those people, "They went 4 years in a row!!!" That's amazing!

"World Champions"? What other countries play what is internationally known as American football? If it were something like soccer/football, baseball, or basketball, then I could see the purpose of the title "world champions".

On the other hand, I'm glad the Giants won. I watch my friend's brother lose $200 over it. Haha! Call me mean, but this guy has a gambling issue and needs to learn a lesson. With this type of person, there is no real other way to teach him besides letting him hit bottom.

It is precisely because no other countries play the sport (well, there was NFL Europe, but let us kindly forgot that disaster) that 'World Champion' is accurate.

The team that wins the 'World Series' in MLB is called the 'World Champion'. But considering that team doesn't play any of the dozens of other national teams that exist around the world, it really is a misnomer.
