America loves a winner!

Force 10 was released in '78 ?

Why'd I think it was released much earlier ?

Guess I wasn't watching that one.

Oh my. No fancy links like you, Chris but I was watching:

Ice Castles ( of course, sappy love story! )

Convoy ( a sad comment on where I live. ) *shakes head*

Animal House ( friends took me to this )

Superman ( LOVED it! )

Force 10 from Navaron ( went with my folks, my Dad was a particular fan )

Didn't Battlestar Galactica come out in '79? I didn't go look it up, but I think it followed out the gate pretty quickly after Star Wars.

*raises hand* Huge fan of Mork and Mindy as well and my brothers were crazy about The Incredible Hulk.

well then I was watching Battlestar Galactica,Rockford Files, The Tomorrow people, even though it gave me nightmares Happy Days,Mash, Mork and Mindy and Hogans Heroes. My parents also let us watch Kojak, Baretta, and Starsky and Hutch. Actually I didn't see Star wars till it was shown on TV. My parents were anti scifi and fantasy. They only let me watch Battlestar Galactica because It was the only behaviour incentive I responded to (e.g. "If you can go a whole day without having a meltdown or doing freaky things you can watch BG") My dad would drop my brother and I off at the cinema when we were 9 and 10 to see James Bonds and other M rated movies and tell the usher we could watch and they never argued with him. He came with us for Force 10 as the Guns of Navarone was a family favourite. The Muppet Movie came out in 79 but our parents refused to pay for tickets for what they decided was a movie length version of Sesame Street. I just remembered some more: You can't do that on Television Dukes of Hazzard Prisoner (I think you guys call it cell block H, about aussie women's prison) Kingswood Country (aussie comedy) Barney Miller welcome back Kotter The Waltons...and many many more I was a TV Junkie

Never was a "Soap" fan-nothing against it, just wasn't for me. I was probably too young(10) to get the humor. However, it led to Benson, which was one of the funniest shows ever.

I didn't actually see Star Wars until '78 so I guess I was watching that and the only other film I saw at the cinema that year was Watership Down.

On TV I was also watching The Incredible Hulk, Mork And Mindy, Battlestar Galactica, The Tomorrow People, Batman and Star Trek.

Grange Hill also started in '78 which for kids on my side of the pond was must watch TV. It was so far ahead of it's time and portrayed realistic kids in real situations with real problems.

Didn't Battle Of The Planets start in 1978 as well? If so I was also watching that plus numerous other cartoons.

Meatpuppet, apparently you aren't the only one who loves the ol' Grumman Goose. Popular enough that a new company restarted production in 2007, as the new Antilles Super Goose!

Oh Jeez, I had completely forgotten about that show. Seeing the credits brought it all back. Thankyou so much for bringing the memory of it back. And now I've remembered Bring 'Em Back Alive as well with Bruce Boxleitner. I loved those shows.

Growing up, we only had one channel (CBS) so I watched MASH, Hawaii Five-O, Kojak, Cannon, etc. I got to see some of the other stuff that was syndicated like Star Trek, the Six Million Dollar Man and others.

Living in rural VT, we weren't exposed to much. And since I really can't stand Football (American) I spent many a Sunday buried in a book.
