sounds kinda interesting. What are disaster recover tapes? what kind of work do you do? I've finnished IMing my friend and have gone back to transcribing word for word (though thankfully not phonetically) lengthy interviews with kids who stutter and their parents for my honours thesis. now that's boring.

I'm scribbling stuff for my self-designed RPG (today: working on the "Equipment" boilerplate and some complication tables, determining how I'm gonna handle wounds/medicine/healing).

This afternoon I'm gonna do laundry and work on a script that I'm intending to sell (it will be done by Friday).

I work in a Main Frame computer shop, for the Federal goverment( DOI ) We do daily, weekly and monthly file backups and they have to go 'off site' for storage incase the computer system dies,...we have all the data to go to IBM Headquarters and run our business from there until we get our systems back up and running. Because we do financial processing we must do this, its the law.
Hope that helps,...your job sounds very interesting too.

Hey Fillygirl yours sounds like an important job. My stuff will be interesting...once I can start analysing the interview data and seeing how it compares with info about the impact of other communication disorders on kids...it's just all the pre-analysis data collection that's brain taxing...takes me ages as I have memory processing probs(I hear or read stuff and random bits of it permanently disappear into the deep dark depths of my mind) and I have motor dyspraxia which affects my typing and writing speed.... makes for some fun times :-)

I'm studying ADH and tubular reabsorption, and endocrine regulation in mammals. Then I'm off to mutilate ('scusi.. incompetently dissect) a smelly dead piglet. (Aren't you glad you asked?!)

I'm currently taking a moment to finalize the paperwork before Fall registration, and checking email. Turns out the college needs a meningitis waiver before they'll let me play. I can print it out at the library.

Ugh! I had to get a whole series of shots and health checks to study speech pathology coz of our prac work in acute settings and community health...not fun as I'm moderately allergic to many of the vaccines...I had to go two rounds of Hep B's...as I seem to have a natural Immunity to the disease, so I had twelve hep b shots over two years and each one made me sicker than the last. Scuse my ignorance but what's ADH? and does tubular reabsorption relates to kidney function?...I wasn't very attentive during human bioscience lectures that didn't specifically relate to the head and neck. we didn't have to disect anything...more's the pity, our cadavers were well preserved and conveniently predissected they all looked the same and unreal as they were more than 5 years old...didn't stop some of my classmates keeling over though.

We don't get cadavers until med school. We're lucky to get mammals.

Sorry: ADH= Anti Diuretic Hormone. Yes, renal tubules and reabsorption of water therein. (How your kidneys put water back into your blood stream instead of letting it go.)

I had to get the Hep B series too, as I'm a nurse. I haven't heard of giving someone more than the needed number of doses of vaccine in a two year period. Two rounds should only be 6 doses, not 12, and I've not heard of people needing more than 4 if they miss one by a little bit.
Were you getting them all from the same place?!

Sometimes people don't carry a titer even after disease or vaccination. Apparently the amazing case of chicken pox I got when I was 8 never happened so far as the doctor's office was concerned 15 years later.
I'm still confident that I've probably got natural varicella immunity.. I just can't necessarily prove it on a blood test.

If you really want to learn something cool, look up how birds breathe. That is some wild and fun stuff!

ooops! My mistake 6 not 12 in two years. have had 12 in my life time.serology from the first 3 (in the last 6 I had) came back showing no immunity, so then I had the next one...no immunity and the next one same thing and finally showed some immunity on the 3rd shot of the second round. tedious. I had the same problem years ago when i started working for community services. prior to having the shots I'd been bitten savagely on two seperate occasions by clients with hep B and although tests showed no effects/contamination I went and got immunised just to be sure. I get pretty sick from them so I hope they last a while. I've had chickenpox 3 times despite immunisation!
Birds are freaky on so many levels.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I'm watchin Mythbusters. I think I'm close to seeing them all at this point.
If it were earlier in the day and I wasn't winding down so I could sleep, I would have been colorizing black and white photos. Rather, I was. It's late.
