Since there's no Firefly this week, who's watching baseball?

October is a terrible month so far. There's sports nearly every night, new Buffy, Angel and when it's not pre-empted by baseball, Firefly.

This isn't too big a deal for me since I like sports, but many don't. Okay, I don't know if "many" don't like sports but a few. That might be more accurate.

Anyways, anyone here watching baseball or other sports? I love baseball and seeing the Minnesota Twins in the playoffs, after talks of contraction earlier in the season, is great. Plus it's nice seeing the Cards in the playoffs and I hope they can pull it off against San Fran.

I'm also going to be overdosing on hockey. One of our Canadian sports networks, TSN, is airing something like 73 or so hockey games on TV this year. Plus there's the double headers every Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada on CBC and the occassional Oilers/Flames game on Rogers Sportsnet (another Canadian sports network).

Thank goodness there's no Firefly on tomorrow since the Montreal Canadiens are playing the New York Rangers. Hope the Habs can win! Check that, the Habs are GOING to win!

Of course there's also NFL on the weekends...

Anyone know where I can get a cola IV unit?

Not me. I know some people like sports, but every night seems too excessive to me. Thought I cann't complane about this friday, I was going to miss Firefly anyway.

HJERMSTED

While I'd much rather have a new Firefly, I AM paying attention to the playoffs this year and will probably watch them tonight.

I'm very happy that both the Braves and the Yankees were eliminated in the first round this year. All four of the teams who advanced to their respective championship series were the underdogs of their first round match-ups.

With the exception of Barry Bonds on the SF Giants... all of the most expensive players in the league get to stay home and watch four teams filled with mid-level (for baseball) salary earners battle for the World Series. You gotta love that!

If baseball is not your thing but you're home around 7:30 with nothing to do.. I highly recommend the brilliantly animated Samurai Jack on Cartoon Network.

Thanks for the suggestion. But we(my family and I) only get five local stations and one is in spanish(We can't speak spanish). If I wanted to see an animated show I'd have to get up at 6:00 on Saturday and watch something made for little kids. When ALL four of our stations have sports on them and they kill all of my shows for 4 weeks, I get annoyed.
