Just found this:
http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=7091

Not sure if I like this idea yet or not. I've been watching the Simpsons for as long as I can remember and I would hate to see them put out a lame movie. Though if they did a decent job it would be pretty shiny.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I heard a movie deal was in the works years ago,but this is the first I've seen of it since. I love The Simpsons too, but lately the quality has been dropping, considerably. I found the Tree House of Horrors XV to be pretty weak.

Sadly, I think Troy McClure's prophetic remark may actually be coming true.

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

Yeah, it really was. Disappointing. But I am really excited about a Simpsons movie.

now call me stupid, but what prophetic remark?

i'm 25 now, but when i was growing up i wasn't allowed to watch the simpsons. My dad didn;t like the way they portrayed fathers via homer.
felt they made all fathers look like idiots.

so i've just been catching up on re-runs over the past couple years.

Well, I love the simpsons. or rather loved, i think its slowly gotten worse and worse, I can't even stand to watch it anymore, doesn't live up to the old episodes.

But yeh in relation to homer, i think even though he's not very bright, he's always been a good dad in the end where his children were concerned.

I've heard a lot of people winge about how The Simpsons is going downhill, etc. etc. I've not seen it, though. I still will not miss an episode of the show, and I still consider it the best show on television. It makes me laugh every single time.

While I will concede that Treehouse XV was not as fantastic as past years, I don't think it was "weak" by any means. I enjoyed it very much, and laughed often. And it had a Firefly reference, which made it all that much sweeter.

And if you've been watching the Simpsons for any amount of time, you'll notice that lately the Treehouse of Horror episodes sometimes tend to be a sub-par introduction to the season. I still won't miss an episode, because it remains funny as hell.

As for the movie, there's a lot of talk, but with the amount of animation it would entail, don't look for it for years yet.

It was an anniversary special years ago, and one of my fav Simpsons of all time. As the show was wrapping up, Troy was musing about what lay in store for the Simpsons between now and when they become no longer profitable. (Really wish I could remember the exact quote )

I do remember how the show closed, though....

And now for what you've all been waiting for....hardcore nudity! ( Que KC and the Sunshine band song Shake your booty and roll clips of various characters all nakie...hee hee

Yeah, it was in the credits, where they make all the names Halloweeny -- "Bat Groening" or "James Hell Brooks," for example. This year, one of the listees (I can't recall which, so let's say it was James L Brooks) was listed as "James REAVERS! Brooks."
