CABRIDGES

I'd like to start reading through the fiction posted here, but I'm afraid I'll drown!

Can anyone suggest the "must not miss, shoulda been an episode" stories that I have to read?

Let me know, here or through e-mail. Meanwhile I'll just start at one end...

Thanks!

PHAEDRA

I'm a big Hawkmoth fan, pretty much anything s/he writes will be supurb. The stories are short and have a beautiful lyricism to them. There's also the Schism by Cosismic Fugitive if you want to have nightmares. Lastly Kispexi and Admobelle (sp?) are both extremely talented and prolific.

Hope this helps.

Phaedra (a bad luck name)

The Man They Call Soul...

I could humbly suggest my series of fics, starting with the "Destiny" series and currently continuing with the "Vengeance" series. If the reviews are any indication, I think you'll enjoy the story. Here is the link to the first chapter if you are so obliged:

I have to agree with Phadra. Anything by HawkMoth is good. CosmicFugitive if you want a good scare. Kispexi and Amdobell are very good as well. Others that I know off the top of my head are KaySky and GuildSister (Her Blue Sun series is excellent!)

I hope you enjoy them all!!

(Oh, and please don't get offended if I didn't mention anyone's name or their fics! I did say off the top of my head, didn't I?)

Edited to add: Oh, and Phaedra's really good, too!

There is a lot, isn't there? Have a hard time keeping up with it all my own self.

It kind of depends on what you like to read, if you're strictly canon, or willing to go on the wild side a bit. If it's canon you're interested in, then I'd like to add the following:

SoulOfSerenity is writing the second part of his series. You should start with his "Destiny" series first.
You can find him here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/showprofile.asp?u=3958

ANYTHING by Sarahetc. She's a big time explorer of Zoe and Wash's relationship and wrote a lot of work that could easily be taken as background for the real thing.
You can find her here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/showprofile.asp?u=2071

Is it okay to toot my own horn? On of my reviews said they thought the "Heartbroken" series was an episode. Actually went looking for it on the DVDs till it occurred to them it was fanfic. One of the best compliments I've had.
Part 1 starts here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=295

CANTON

Hotpoint's "Death or Glory" series is a must! It is my personal favorite fic. . .out of any genre, and it's still going. You won't regret checking it out. (it continues with Wolf Pack, Here Be the Dragons, and Horse, Foot, and Artillery).

Thank you!! That's the other name I was searching for! And, of course, I can't believe I didn't include Channain. I am shame faced...

I'll toot my own horn a bit, if only because I just got started on my first fanfic series (No Destination) and I'm always looking for more feedback.

As for the "can't miss" fics, I'm really diggin' Amdobell's stuff right now. Shadow War by Manwithpez was pretty interesting, too.

Gotta read Tara O'Shea's stuff--she also publishes as LJ Constantine. Especially "That Old Yeh Shen" and "Lex Talionis." Amazing writer. You may need to find her stuff at her own site--ljconstantine.com

Maystone is great too; not sure if she's here or at fanfiction.net

If you like Mal angst, try my two--"Going Home" and "aftermath."

REGINAROADIE

Well, there's always my stuff that I like to pimp. THE SERENITY GIG, BLUE HAND BLUES, YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN, the two SHOTGUN TAM stories and three stand alones.

I absolutely have to give a shout out to my gal pal KaySky. Her stuff is some of the most entertaining stuff you'll ever read.

LJC's stuff is very dense, but very well written and thought out. And my fave old author who's gone now, was Harriet Vane. Her TIES THAT BIND series is one of the best series I've ever seen. Could serve as a treatment for one of the movies, actually.

Also, there's "Risk Anything" by starrbaby and posted on 2/14/05 in which Jayne briefly steps into Simon's shoes. There are two stories by liquideyes in which Simon deals with the news of Zoe's pregnancy. "Into the Sunlight" by Ragdoll and posted on 2/11/05 shows the Serenity crew in a modern day high school environment (this is a story that SCREAMS sequels). And one of the earlier stories I always liked, and my favorite holiday themed story, is "Christmas on Serenity" by Corrielle that was posted 12/22/02.

That's just stuff off the top of my head.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?
