I'd like two: new Serenity and Water.

Do they come in ladies sizes, because regular shirts just look so terrible on me?

Okay, I know this is a really old thread, but are these shirts for sale? I'd really like a couple.

I was wondering if these shirts are still for sale? I know this thread is pretty old, but I'm still hoping.

I'd be interested in buying 7 shirts.

Could you please e-mail me @ entropy714@comcast.net or IM me @ Spirogyra714 on AIM?

Thank you so much. The shirts look fantastic.

HELL'S KITTEN

Yeah, hi there. I've been getting questions more and more often about the shirts on this old thread, so I guess it's time for an update.

Here's how it was:
I was going to send all the graphics to Alex from Blue Sun Shirts so he could have them printed and available for sale. I was hoping they'd be available in a large range of sizes for both guys and chicks, but I think, ultimately, size availability would be up to Alex.

Then...
...came a recall at work which consumed a good 5 months of my time, and had the effect of bringing all my frivolous fangirl activities to a screeching halt.

Here's how it is:
I'd still very much like to get those graphics to Alex. Unfortunately, as I've explained to several people already, my computer is going through a rebellious stage. Follow.... Severus (C drive) isn't speaking to Jayne (E drive), even though he's perfectly willing to speak to Crowley (D drive) on occassion. Severus has a copy of Serenity (old C drive), but it turns out it's Jayne that has all my shirt graphics. I have a DVD "back up" of Jayne, but since I'm so damn lucky, all the shirt files I want, among other things, didn't get copied over; they're now just teasers, or Phantom Philes, if you will. Nifty, eh?

Here's hoping how it will be:
Once I convince Severus to play nice with everyone else, I'll be able to access that which has been lost to the apparently wrathful computer gods. If still agreeable, I'd be able to finish the graphics and send them off to Alex. If all the stars align, a shiny new thread will be posted announcing the availability of these shirts.

Cheers.

Hell's Kitten -- If you're still keeping track of interest, count me in. I would DEFINITELY want to get four of those shirt designs. And multiples (2 or 3) of each. Assuming they are indeed high-quality shirts, I would place my order today.

The "Water" shirt that Jayne wore with the logo on one shoulder is one I've longed for.

Hopefully you'll be able to get these things done.

Hi there!

I've been hankerin' for these shirts for quite a time, and I think I've got something that might make the process a bit easier. I'm not sure whether this'll be any help to you, but when your Comcast site was up, I was able to save several of the designs.

I currently have - easily available for sendin' via e-mail - The Fighting Elves, Rowdy Play (only the simple front design, with the gun and characters), Soldier, Serenity (the red-and-yellow circle with characters and text) and semi-inverted-color Serenity (for use on light or black t-shirts, respectively), and the "Firefly" Chinese characters and the green-tinted Serenity image that goes with 'em.

They're all in .JPG form, except for the white-background-black-text Serenity design. I can't recall whether they were like that on the site, or if I MADE them like that for some fool reason.

If you want 'em, I can mail them right on over. But I remember you saying something about totally re-doing them so that they looked nicer, so I'm not sure how much help they'd be.

In ANY case, I'd be glad to provide you with them. Just say the word!

Yours truly,
Patrick G.

Also adding my name to state I'm VERY interested in a number of these shirts.

When I initially read this thread and saw the pics, I was in awe and very excited, then I noticed the date on the original post - and quickly scrolled down here to see what was going on.

Anyway, glad there is still a chance :) They're amazing!!!

That's a good idea, but here's how it is: HellsKitten sent me a private e-mail asking for the images, but she mentioned that many of them are out-of-date and have (since I saved them off the now-defunct website) been updated. Heck, the Rowdy Play design has even been supplied to her by a cast member, so whatever she's working on right now must be much better than the one I saved.

And anyway, I wouldn't want to do that without getting HellsKitten's permission.

Uhm... okay, let's see if I can say this without being too snarky. I have cable modem and, except during 90-degree days, my computer / modem is always on. I, however, am not always on my computer. In fact, the majority of my day is spent away from my computer. Therefore, it is entirely possible that when you "AIM" me, I may not be there to respond. And while I'm at it, there is no reason why you should know what's going on with these images since you're not actually a part of it.

That being said....

I really do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm over these shirts and eagerness to get them made. I am flattered that you think my recreations are good enough to own. Really. There would be no greater petty satisfaction for me than to get these shirts actually printed. After all, I've been working on these designs for nearly a year (there are a couple I didn't even get the opportunity to print before the hard drive revolt ). And to be able to have one on a shirt that I could actually put in the dryer after I wash it would be terribly novel for me.

Perhaps this is just an inappropriate outlet for my frustration with the fact that about 80% of my computer files are still inaccessible.

For each graphic that you see on my shirts, I spent at least a week perfecting them as best I could, not to mention all the money I spent on shirts, ink, and transfers to see if they actually look like they're supposed to once they're on a shirt. For each graphic. I put a lot of time, patience, and effort into these shirts all due to the fact that I love Firefly and once thought I could share these things with others who had the same appreciation for the show. For you to suggest that someone just take the files that I once offered for free and hand them over to someone so he can sell them... well, that's just a bit annoying to me.

The lovely MrPaco is correct: the images he got from my old website are definitely first generation graphics; some of them are, in my opinion, pretty crappy compared to the "final" versions I was working on. It would actually embarrass me to know that someone would pay money for them. He's also correct about the crew supplied graphics, but I can't elaborate on that.

I planned to finalize these graphics and get them to Alex so he could make them for you guys at whatever price he thought reasonable, since it's his time, materials and equipment. That plan hasn't changed. It's just taken longer than I ever anticipated. It may be that the files are gone forever. If that's the case, I shall mourn them deeply and start all over by scanning what I've already produced.

If you find that the waiting is absolutely intolerable, I can only suggest that you spend your time to make your own graphics, for I have no magical powers that can quickly make data reappear from an unreadable medium; that's what I'm paying the professionals for.

To everyone who's expressed interest in these shirts: I am doing my best to get things fixed so I can get the graphics to a printer. I have bookmarked this thread in the event that it gets burried, so once the shirts are available, I will make it well known so no one misses out. In the mean time, why not check out Alex's site, www.BlueSunShirts.com, and maybe he can provide you with a groovy shirt to your liking.

Cheers.

For those of you following the contuing saga of Hell's Kitten's Snarky Hard Drives (yes, they are, in fact, as irritable and short-tempered as I am)... and, I guess, for those of you not following... I have Jayne (E drive) right where I want him and I'm in the process of seducing him to get what I want. In other words, I have my recovery software running in hopes of getting at least some of my files back.

I actually started recreating a few of the designs, but found that I am actually quite a bit more impatient than I had originally thought. Hence the desperate coaxing with the recovery software. Hopefully progress will be made this weekend. 'Course, with my luck, bluesunshirts.com will probably disappear from the face of the planet and I'll have to start looking for a printer all over again. I hate computers. As always, I'll keep you informed as soon as there's anything worth saying.

The time of reckoning is nigh! I've been making sure to keep some money set aside for when the day came that I could purchase these beauties.

Good luck in your noble endeavor! I know how obnoxious it can be for a computer to turn against you. 'Course, the first time it happened, it was because I decided to shuffle around a carpet wearing socks and deliberately give the PC an electric shock, but let's not get into that situation. Ah, youth...

And while I'm at it, I apologize for entering into this situation publicly...I probably should've just e-mailed you instead of mentioning it forum-wise. But, what's done is done, and "what's done" is thankfully no real damage. I hope. ^^;

Cheers yourself.

PPS: I don't mean to sound greedy, but is there any chance of you producing one of these so-called "Death Fish" shirts? Here's the pic, in case you dunno what I'm talking about: http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=2098

Apparently there's a back image as well, something like this: http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=2314

True, it's been done by TenthCrewMember...But it's only available on Zazzle, and I've been led to believe that self-publication sites like that (and CafePress) produce rather sub-par products. So, I guess I was hoping you could make your own high-res design and have it screen-printed professionally, like with the rest of 'em.

Just a thought!

Good, good, keep bugging. Bugging triggers remembering.

My hard drive with all the graphics is sitting on my computer. ON, not IN. Still searching for decent software to do recovery as the last software only gave me very few bits, and most of those the bits I didn't need or want.

In the meanwhile... I've been recreating a bunch of the graphics: "trouble maker" (movie version), "fighting elves," the cast & crew shirt, the Blue Sun logo and the official Serenity logo. The pin-up girl and "enjoy" designs are next... maybe then "perfect cat." We'll see. I'm fearing that these things won't be done in time for large production for the movie, but as I said, we'll see.

Cheers.

Hell's Kitchen!

First of all, I just read what happened with your computer. I'm so sorry to hear it. Believe me, I know how frustrating it is when you've worked long and hard on something and you think you might have to start all over (things are just not quite the same!). I send biggest wishes that you will not have to do that.

Thank you for doing your best to recapture your designs -- I know we all wait with bated breath, not just selfishly because we want shiny Serenity shirts (of course we do ), but also because your designs are the BEST! Please update us when you're ready, because I'm sure happy to wait and order when you are.

By the way, these are the shirts that I'm interested in and would definitely purchase, should you be able to do them:

1. Ning2jing4 "Serenity" (new logo from the BDM)

2. Wan2 Nao4 "Rowdy Play" (Jayne's shirt from "Jaynestown")

3. Shui3 "Water" (Jayne's shirt near end of Serenity)

4. Zhan4 Dou4 de Xiao3 Jing1 Ling2 "Fighting Elves"

5. yellow Wan2 Nao4 new "Trouble Maker" shirt

Let me know what happens next! Thanks!!

Warmest Regards,
Sherry

[(1&2) A nearly exact replica of the shirt given out to the cast & crew; Adam's wearing it on the DVD during his song. The front has a picture of Serenity and the back has the new characters for "firefly."
(1&2) Shui3 "Water" - Jayne wears this shirt near the end of "Serenity." The logo is actually on his left shoulder. This is the toughest shirt by far to make and doesn't photograph all that well.
(3) Yong3 "Soldier" or "Brave" - Jayne wears this in several episodes, including "Ariel" and "War Stories."

I don't know how to answer that question. I was never able to "make them available" in the first place, but on the other hand, I am still trying.

My hard drive is still being punished (sitting in a corner on my desk), so I've begun re-creating all the graphics. Luckily I made myself enough shirts that I have some really good starting points.

I'm toying with the idea of giving up on the whole idea of getting them screen printed, and moving towards just making the designs available so you can iron them on your own shirt. Who knows.

On a positive note (only in my mind), I had made a movie style "Trouble Maker" tank top for myself and wore it to both Dragon*Con and the LA Serenity premiere (Fan Fest, actually). Both times I wandered into Adam and he loved it; said it was spot on for accuracy. (I'm still giggling like a little fangirl cuz of that.) And Chris Buchanan and Loni Peristere both liked it, too...! So, um, that's a helluva positive feedback, eh?

Anyway, as lousy as I am with this whole "communication" thing, I'll continue to try to keep you all updated.

Cheers.

Aww, I was really hoping they'd be available screen-printed. Everything I hear about iron-ons is fairly negative...and I don't know of any place that'll print up a design without having to make bulk orders of shirts. Do you know any places like that?

please don't give up! if the longevity of this thread proves anything, it's that the interest for high quality screen-printed version is very strong!

My friends and I recently printed up some shirts for our community group, and even though there were only about 50 of us, we got a silk-screen (single color, double sided) print for about $14. It might be an investment, paying for the shirts and then selling them off, but if proper track of the preorder counts is kept, there is little chnace that you would be stuck with surplus. If needs be, ask for payments right before the shirts are printed to help defray the cost (that's what we did).

please don't give up! We (and especially I) have faith in you and a desire to own your show-accurate creations!

Yes! Please don't give up! I still really want a Water shirt! I'd send you the shirt myself if you could get the design put on!

Have you ever considered someplace like CafePress or similar?

Also have you thought about contacting the Blue Sun Shirts people and asking them where they get their shirts printed up?

Personally I would NOT be interested in an iron on. They flake off too easily. But I would totally be interested in a Jayne T-shirt collection. The other thought it. I know by me there are printing companies that do shirts and others tuff. My office ordered shirts last year, we ordered maybe 20-25 shirts and they didn't cost us more than $5 a piece. I am sure that if you ordered up 25 of each of your shirts (5 each of sm, med, lg, xl, and xxl) that you could get rid of them in a heartbeat. Even if you can't get rid of them here, you can on ebay! Plus if you have a good demand the screen printing company keeps your design on file, and then you can get it printed whenever you want.

The cost of screen printed shirts depends on the number of colors and screens needed. The Blue Sun shirts would be super cheap, the Pin-Up girl not so much, but to tell you the truth I think people around here would be willing to pay a good $20-30 for a high quality reproduction shirt.

Just my 2 cents.

BlackEyedGirl: All of your suggestions sound brilliant, except for the CafePress thing...I've never seen them myself, but I hear tell that the printing on their t-shirts is fairly low-quality. Plus, there's a very limited choice of colors, and they're all light or pastel.

If anyone can provide testimony to the contrary, of course, it might be a good plan.

The Bumpty Dance is your chance to do the bump.

I already expressed interest in your venture a couple of times a while ago, Hell's Kitten, but I just wanted to add that I would now kill for a movie version "Troublemaker" shirt. So, good luck with the recovery/recreation of the graphics!

I'm interested in the following
Top row 1 (new Serenity) & 4 (Rowdy Play)
2nd Row 1&2 (crew shirt and blue sun)
3rd row 1 (water)
and the new movie Rowdy shirt. Which ones will depend on price. I have some friends without .net access so I suspect once we have prices and sizes there will be multiples of most of these.

Out of interest how many screens would we be talking for these designs. I do know a local firm that does this kind of work. If I had some idea as to what you need I might be able to get you a quote.

I want 'em all.

Take my name, take my cash. Don't go for CafePress trash. I don't care that they're not free. You can make these shirts for me
