Does anyone know if it is possible to find scripts for episodes 11 to through 15, preferably with translation of the Chinese expressions?

Using this numbering scheme:

01 SERENITY Pt 1
02 SERENITY Pt 2
03 THE TRAIN JOB
04 BUSHWHACKED
05 SHINDIG
06 SAFE
07 OUR MRS. REYNOLDS
08 JAYNESTOWN
09 OUT OF GAS
10 ARIEL
11 WAR STORIES
12 HEART OF GOLD (unaired)
13 OBJECTS IN SPACE
14 TRASH (unaired)
15 THE MESSAGE (unaired)
Lost Ep: DEAD OR ALIVE (unfilmed)

Not sure where you will find ep 11 (War Stories) or ep 13 (Objects in Space).

You will find the full script of ep 12 (Heart of Gold) and so far 4/5 of ep 14 (Trash) linkable via the main page of this very website. Chinese translations included in the script body.

Haken posts new Acts every Friday. Eventually ep 15 (The Message) and the script of ep 16(?) (Dead or Alive) will be posted.

Here's the schedule:

"Dead or Alive" isn't really a "lost" episode. The term "lost episode" usually refers to an episode that was filmed, but never aired. "Unfilmed Script" is more accurate.

A similar situation occured with the second episode of "Angel", witha potential script entitled "Corrupt." The WB thought is was too dark, and gave it the red light two days before filming would've began. The script was then cannibalized and used over various first season episodes, and although the exact plot wasn't used, a simlar-in-many-ways storyline was used in the real second episode, "Lonely Hearts."

I am a big Cheryl Cain fan, and I immensely enjoyed reading the brilliant teaser for "Dead or Alive," although since it was never filmed, it would be silly to pretend it actually happened (as if it was an episode; not in real life, obviously).

Question of Interest: Does anyone know anything about the four scripts written after or around the same time as "The Message," that FOX never picked up? Are they floating around on the Internet somewhere?

Isn't that some kind of contradiction? Easter's all about 1 god right?

Unless we're making up some Firefly easter gods??? Oh! Nice. Can I be one?

The original order of "Firefly" was for 13 episodes. Then FOX decided that before giving any more eps, to see scripts before they approved them; an initial order of four scripts, then 2 more later, totaling 6. Then FOX gave the go ahead for only two scripts, and then the series was cancelled.

I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere on the news archive on this site, and/or the official site.

In any case, there were four scripts written for FOX to approve that did not get picked up.

Okay, I've found this:

FOX Orders Two More Epsidoes Of Firefly
Posted by News Admin on Monday, November 18, 2002 10:37
Source: The Official Firefly Message Board
TIMES READ: 1189

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOX has ordered 2 more episodes of 'Firefly' from the 3 scripts previously ordered. Looks like FOX is going to take another look at Firefly's pickup in another month or so.

BTW, I've confirmed this. As weird as this may sound, it's definately legit.

So after those two eps were picked up, 3 more scripts (or possibly another number) were ordered, unless I'm totally confused and am just making that up. Anyways, there's at least one complete script written after or around the same time as "Trash" and "The Message" that will hopefully make its way onto the Internet, the DVDs, the TV, or some other format.

LJC

I remember reading an article, I think either off the newswires or at TV Guide. Back in November, 20th Century Fox ordered 6 additional scripts beyond the initial order of 13. Of those 6, two were produced ("Trash" and "The Message" hence 15 scripts--"Heart of Gold" was part of the original order of 13).

So that means potentially 4 more scripts do exist (most likely at least 2 were ready--as they didn't know production was going to halt until December, and had production not halted with "The Message", another script would have been prepped to shoot the next week) that we know nothing about.

I would sell my sister for those scripts *sigh*

Ostara is nearly concurrent with Easter, so there's plenty to go around, dependin on what ya choose to believe.

Doesn't change the fact that all those easter goodies are real shiny, especially when you raid the shelves and get it on deep discount three days after...

BuffyScripts sometimes disappears, but it has all the shooting scripts under "SHOWS" - "Firefly": http://buffyscripts.net

EDIT: Links to all the scripts and transcripts can be found on Browncoats.com at:
http://www.browncoats.com/main.php?parent=3e56e357cf606

The Safe script doesn't include the major changes (including a lot of the Chinese) made to it after the episode was "done" but Joss and Tim weren't happy with it. And the scripts often give only the original English without the Chinese translation.

And of course there are fan transcripts on Whoa. Good Myth.: http://firefly.shriftweb.org/index.shtml

I'm fairly sure the expresion referers to the gods of easter island, not the easter we chocoholics all know and love.

Anyway I agree this missing scripts must be released, after all fox's heinous cancellation of such a great show mid-season, especial a first season leaves far too many mysteries, what were they doing to river and why, who realy is shepard book, etc. and any offical script that might shead light on these mysteries just cannot be kept offline.

Nope.

Eostre was a goddess and she was a spring goddess too. She was the original easter goddess. Christianity stole her template and over wrote it. So there are offferings and sweets and bunnies and stuff around the time of Eostre which were bolted onto the resurrection.

I am wondering about ol Shepard Book myself. I would really like to know what his ident card says.

Does anyone (perhaps someone who has original scripts) know whether or not the subtitled "eye-dent" card was a phoentic transcription error or a really cool element that the writers actually intended to be there. I noticed the "eye-dent" when watching the subtitles when Book was taken to the Alliance hospital.

No, it's "ident." The subtitles are just showing pronunciation for some reason. They also had "high-larious" in OoG and Nathan's Canadian "BORE-owed" (borrowed) in OMR.

So, I’m not the only person left who gets to have a great big laugh as the Christians celebrate the resurrection of their savior with a bunch of pre-Christian fertility symbols?

Don’t through flame, it’s not nice--I just had this dress cleaned.

Easter is good. Ostara with the bunnies and red eggs and other various fertility rituals and symbols is good. Together we have multi religion based fun with chocolate!
