It's Barry's war now and he wants a SURGE. So far only that booger eatter G. Brown says he will help....a little. He said he wanted to pull out the troops during the election, now he wants to send more? OH YOU WACKY LIBS! Don't worry, now that the election is over the war is'nt big news anymore. The big news is what ever the White House and the Democrats decide it will be, then they tell there whores in the press what the big news is. Today the big news is how niffty Barry is doing over seas, even tho he's not doing well at all. He's a photo-op prez.

I clearly remember him saying he wanted to go into afghanistan, you obviously never actually listened to him speak. he wants to pull troops out of iraq, and he's working on doing that, so far he's doing exactly what he said he was going to do.

"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."

I remember him talking about wanting to do somthing about Pakistan, nothing about Afghanistan. Does'nt matter tho, it's Barry's war now, the Democrats and his whores in the press wo'nt trash HIS SURGE like they did Bush's. Also he's pulling troops out of Iraq and sending them to Afghanistan, my guess they wo'nt be home this Christmas either.

Note his pledge to send additional troops to Afghanistan and ask European allies to do more.

He also sez in his speech we're less safe then we were before 9/11, I wonder if he'd say that now that he's da boss?

You guy's bitched about being in Iraq for years when Bush was Prez, but now you're OK being in Afgahanistan for years? How many years? How many dead? Will it be OK to show the flag drapped coffins now that it's Barry's war? Will Barry be condemed when civilians are killed? Do you think the 1st Lady of France would kiss me?

because Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, they had no wmd's, we had no reason to be there, afghanistan is where we should have been focusing all along, and we should be done there by now, but since we've essentially ignored it until now, we have to get the job done now.

and it should have always been ok to show flag draped coffins, every man and woman who serves in the military should be honored. that's true no matter who's president

Yes, "barry" should be scolded if there are civilian deaths, condemned is too strong a word, I don't condemn bush for it either, it's an unfortunate side effect of war, unfortunately war seems to be the only way we humans get anything done.

as for the 1st lady of france you're gonna have to check with her on that one.

YOU make a lot of good points, BUT! I wonder if the anti-war left (The Micheal Moores etc) will cut Barry as much slack? The war was big during the campain and the press (whores) have been playing down, but the anti-war left wo'nt stay quiet long.

To borrow Obama's phrase, we're not against all wars, we're against dumb wars. The war against Afghanistan was fully justified, carried widespread international support and was backed by the UN, as evidenced by the range of countries who have fought there. Had we focused on the task in that country, all the issues we're now facing would be, at the very least, reduced or even eliminated. Instead we have a reborn Taleban and an invigorated Al Qaeda patrolling around the country and parts of Pakistan.

That is Bush's failure.

I was ok with the war in afghanistan when Bush went for it, then he used the fear from 9/11 to manipulate us into supporting his iraq war, and afghanistan got pushed to the side. had bush kept the focus on afghanistan, he would have continued to have my support.

So let me make sure you have this clear, it's not the change in commander that has changed my support, it's the change in location and objective.

ANTHONYT

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I think you will find, if you look back, that Afghanistan was a 'popular war' that almost everyone was solidly behind. The hunger for war and retribution abated significantly with the advent of The Iraqi Menace.

However, no citizenry enjoys fighting any war indefinitely. As time goes by, I expect Afghanistan to lose its special flavor. Those herbs and spices will become bland in the mouth, and people will eventually wish to withdraw from even the once-popular war.

Blood begets blood, but only for a while. At some point people become tired of hemorrhaging.

'...But most of all, does anybody get it that the life and death ecosystems of human existence have already basically ceased to exist? What's over the horizon is too hideous to contemplate. Massively expanding ozone holes, new breeds of over the top hurricanes, global warming which is turning into global "baking", a probable oncoming magnetic shift of the poles which will leave the Earth radiation-defenseless for possibly hundreds of years, the agonizing destruction of sacred rain forests to keep the United States loaded with mountains of hamburgers, the suicidal pollution of not only America's rivers and lakes, but all the oceans of the planet (mostly by the good ol' US of A -- and the rest of the planet bloody well knows it.

The tragedy is not only that Homo sapiens are committing suicide as a species; it's that we're also dragging thousands of other life forms with us.

But Obama gives speeches. Yeah, that helps.

The point isn't that Obama isn’t doing anything. The point is that Obama is doing 10% of what DESPERATELY must be done, but "spinning" that 10% into 90%.

So, where does this leave us? It leaves us with the brutal realism that "putting out the fire" isn't going to come from this status quo President. Maybe the Congress (for a change), but definitely NOT Barack Obama (he still hasn’t “earned” a Presidential title).

So just like the George W. Bush horror show years, the core dynamics of social, biological change are going to have to come from us. The people. You and me and our neighbors -- including internet neighbors.'

I'm certainly not scared of you. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I had a bit of a busy weekend.

The reason I didn't see fit to continue any conversation has nothing to do with the thickness of my skin, but rather the thickness of your skull.

No matter what I say, you ignore it and make some reply to the effect of "you think obama is god and everyone who voted for him thinks identical thoughts" This is obviously not true. Correction, obvious to most people, to you, not so much.

But since you insist, I will make one more attempt to present my stance on Obama and "his war".

On the war, I'm for it, I was for it when Bush started it after 9/11, it should have been our focus for the past 8 years. I was never for the Iraq war, we had and continue to have no business there. So my position on each of those 2 separate wars has not changed at all.

On Obama, yes I voted for him, no I don't believe he's anything more than human. He has flaws like any human, he does things I don't agree with. It's fine for you to hate him, I don't really care, it'd be nice if you gave him a chance, but that's your call.

I've presented this as clearly as I can manage, if you still have trouble understanding, there's nothing more I can do for you.

"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."
