Everything.

Don't you see? It's a commandment. Live simple, be what you want to be, who you want to be, with the person you want to be, and live free.

Live free and carefree because you never pay mind to anything that gets in your way.

Nevermind.

You wanna know the really scary part ?

Goofy as he/she sounds, and despite his/her overblown and theatrical presentation - there is, in fact, hard evidence to *some* of those claims.

And probably more than you would think.

I know the guy/girl sounds like a nutter, and isn't even close (in my sole opinion) to acceptable levels on fact-checking, confirmation or verification of source material, but if one ever gets bored enough to sift through the stuff and cull only that which can be scientifically, factually, court-of-law-standard 'proven'....

How much of it can be will scare you.

Just someone sounds a bit loony doesn't necessarily mean they're totally off the deep end - I've never cared for PN's presentation and methodology, since both are indeed admittedly more than a bit off-kilter, and rational discussion doesn't seem to be an option, but in more cases than you'd think, he/she is working from a pretty respectable amount of courtroom-quality evidence.

Now if only they'd quit presenting it like a tabloid....

As I mentioned to Jen some threads back, I've had a semi-professional interest in dynamiting the ponds of pedo networks since 1993, so some of this stuff isn't even news to me.

I mind, and I mind because I care - it's the curse of the compassionate.

When PN first showed, I tried to appeal to him not to Jazz it up with jingoism and race attacks, exactly because I felt he had a 'Jerry Fletcher' handle on what was really going on, but that character from Conspiracy Theory seems calm compared to PN! I think I've only seen 4 or 5 posts from him that were possible to take entirely seriously.

Yes and if I walked outside pointed out a cloud and told you it was a klargon death squad invading earth to turn the Human race into mutant rabbit-slave-people doesn't mean that the cloud ceases to exist.

It does mean you shouldn't listen to a word because I would be a crazy moron who should be in a hospital.

As it is with PirateNews.

That is what is required for a conspiracy theory, that is what has always been required. They need truth in order to flourish, they need hard facts on which they can build their theories.

One of the problems with that is that it makes it so that when you talk about certain things you get lumped in with the conspiracy theorists meaning that pretty soon only they talk about those things and after a while people stop believing that these things even might be true, thus they never check them and in spite of hard evidence the claims are believed to be false.

-

It seems to me like this would be very easy to exploit.

I always thought that if I took over the world in secret I'd take over the tabloids, and publish absolute truth in them about everything I was doing directly between a story saying the UN was covering up the entrance to hell and that the Pope had a baby by aliens. (I like the religious ones, so funny.)

Apparently I'm not the only one who thought that, the game Deus Ex, one built around conspiracy theories, has a tabloid that reports the real truth about what is going on in such a way that it invalidates it. A watered down version of what I'm talking about might go like this: "This virus is not natural" which is true, "it was created by the black hole aliens," which is false, the result is that now anyone who claims the virus is unnatural is associated with alien conspiracy believers.

Maybe the association is hard to create after the fact, but if the first time you heard someone say the virus wasn't natural was the article that said it was of alien origin you'll probably associate the two, especially if that was the first time anyone said it wasn't natural because then you can say that the story originated with the tabloid.

Of course it can work for stuff more mundane than genetically engineered viruses, in general if you want people not to believe it just break the story in a tabloid.

Thats why I firmly believe that PN is some sort of "Distractionist" plant here to make us all laugh at his "theories" so that we dont look for the real truth inbedded in amongst the crap.

And a damn fine job he's doing too.

Ah, but one must unearth that kernel of truth to build the theory around, first.

And that, in a nutshell, is why I have no issue with slighty (or in PN's case, more than slightly) screwball people grinding these axes.

Dig *enough* dirt, and you'll find paydirt.

Of course, at some point you have to do your own filtering, sourcing, and cross-exam, but when you have some idea of what the scope of the issue is, it's a hell of a lot easier to do.

Beats the hell out of dredging the sewers of the internet yourself, you think about it.

Most conspiracy theories can be boiled down to a single question, which, if answered, will determine the fall of the rest of the dominos.

Cases in point.

If WTC7 was indeed 'pulled' (demolished) as has been admitted and reported - when and how exactly were the charges wired ?

How many bullets struck Kennedy, and what caliber was each of them ?

Who placed the additional charges found inside the building in Oklahoma city, and when ?

The problem is that folks don't boil it down, and go for totality of evidence (which, if circumstantial, still doesn't amount to a damned thing) rather than the core issue.

For myself, I favor the one shot kill.

And if in response to a very simple question, no straight answer is forthcoming - that in and of itself says a lot.

"The goofiest conspiracy theory ever, is that there are no conspiracies."

Also, a lot of times things taken for conspiracy are no such thing at all.. think on this, crabs do not march in lockstep because they are organized or cooperating, they do so because the way their primitive little brains work, that's the logical path, and thus they all follow it.

Politicians, when ya get right down to it, ain't much different than them crabs, you see - dumber than a box of rocks, and all following the same path, so if you find twenty of them takin bribes from the same set of guys, that's not a conspiracy, that's cause they're all friggin crooks.

If being stupid, selfish and malicious is a conspiracy, then the whole planet is at one point or another guilty of such.

Just some random thoughts on the matter after too much coffee and not enough sleep... call someone else's cab today, imma crawl into bed and have a coma...

Thats true. Take his claim that President Bush is a pedophile who has sex with Condi Rice. Turns out, there really is a person named Condi Rice and a person named President Bush.

Everything else in the story he made up or copied from tabloids.

PirateNews needs a warning label...read at your own risk.

>>Everything else in the story he made up or copied from tabloids.

Given the amount of out and out bullshit foisted on us in recent years by the so-called primary media, how is their credibility any better ?

Of course, it was them, rather than the tabloids, that broke the story originally, not that it matters.

Also, you don't get an FBI Agent (Gunderson) and a Congressman (DeCamp) involved on such an issue, and discuss it with the director of the CIA (Colby) on something without substantial factual basis - nor does it go to court and ultimately result in a judgement against those accused (Feb 27th 1999 - Warren Urborn), without some damned good evidence.

Made up issues do not result in suicides (Hunter S Thompson, Craig Spence) or arrests (Rusty Nelson, Larry Franklin) when brought to light either, all of these are proven facts, documented heavily with courtroom quality evidence sufficient to wholly convince Judge Urborn to lay the smack down.. and if you doubt said judgement, go look it up yourself.

Or jam your fingers in your ears and pretend not to have heard like you usually do, I do not care.

On one end of the spectrum, you have well-meaning folks like PN who do not do sufficient sourcing and crosscheck, but are indeed working from an existing body of evidence - and then there's the folks on the other end, who just cover their ears and chant when presented with any evidence worth a damn.

Somewhere in the middle is where the truth usually lies, but folks with an axe to grind (and I mean both of you, specifically) is too blinded by their "side" or agenda to really care.

We seem to have different words for tabloids.

Tabloids over here are mainstream news; they're real news, if presented in a trashy overly involved way. A tabloid over here would say:

Evil Terrorist Leader Killed by valiant coalition raid

Where as a newspaper would say:
Terrorist leader suspected dead after coalition raid

Same thing but Tabloids like to add a lot of bias, tell their readership not just what is happening but also what to think about it. Like FOX news and to a lesser degree CNN actually.

What you call tabloids we call joke newspapers. I bought one once, I was 12 and being naïve I thought things had to be true before they could be printed in a newspaper and sold. So when I saw the headline “proof that the Loch Ness monster exists!” I thought wow, and even though it was in the world enquirer I bought it and read it.

Took me about three sentences, despite my naivety, to workout it was all bullshit. Not only did the World Enquirer not have evidence of the existence of the Loch Ness monster, it didn’t have evidence to prove that the monster was in fact our Alien overlord.

Conspiracy theories have to have a lot of truth in them, it's how they tie that truth together and how they make huge leaps that are too great to be called even leaps of faith that makes them not worth reading.

A politician broke a law once which is final proof that Commie-Nazi-Alien-Jews have direct mind control on all politicians.

I have to dissagree with the idea that PN is well meaning. You cant (in my oppinion) be well meaning while claiming that everyone in the world except you is a Jew and that all Jews are Satanic, genocidal maniacs and that all Mexicans are cannibals and all doctors are delliberately trying to poison us, etc.
As has been said many times before on other threads, if PN simply presented his arguments in a rational way, for example:
"Heres an interesting link, go take a look and discuss"
He would find many more people in agreement with him than even he expects.
As it is, well... you know the rest.

It's interesting to note also, that he seems to be getting very similar responses on that other site to the ones he gets from us. Seems we have Sheeple everywhere.

We do indeed, I actually knew that but didn't think to mention it for some reason, maybe because I have this assumption stuck in my head that people can tell how American I am, which may or may not be true. I have no idea why I think that, I can't tell where others are from, maybe it's the spelling. Sometimes I feel like whenever I spell a word in the way that is proper here but not elsewhere everybody else looks at their screen and rolls their eyes.

Oh and we do, all the time...
