When and where? I LOOOVE V. Well, the first part. I would love to see a remake that isn't so cheesy in design. The concept is brilliant.

After some googling, it turns out that it may not be a new series, but a new miniseries coming in 07.

Here’s the imdb page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366112/

EW reports it as appearing in 04 however. Since no such miniseries aired on US TV to my knowledge in 04, I’m guess it’s old information, or just wrong. It seems to be consistently reported that it is not a remake, but a sequel. It appears that Singer, Grant, Badler and Englund will be reprising their roles.

I actually thought the miniseries was well done, and the series would probably have worked, were it not for the second miniseries. The series seemed contrived because too many conflicts had been resolved in the second miniseries leading to manufactured excuses to bring the show back to air. A typical example of execs skewing things up due to a lack of connection with their audience.

LOL. I have become more lenient on him since his passing--just doesn't feel right to criticize a guy's heartfelt work too harshly when he's no longer with us.

Like I said, I think he's good--Juilliard alumnus and all. Just can't seem to come up with a good running theme, ya know, like Goldsmith or Williams or Poledouris or Zimmer--the greats. Highlander, to give credit where credit is due, was phenomenal partly because Queen wrote compelling themes that Kamen was able to weave into the score. I felt X-Men was a whole lot of lost opportunity. Die Hard and some of his others are good (he's good enough that I buy his soundtracks)--but again, in the top 3? I mean, would you rank anything he wrote up there with Conan the Barbarian/Starship Troopers or The 13th Warrior/Rudy? Maybe we need to start a new thread to discuss this--hate to hijack this one for a film composer discussion.
