Paris Hilton, the star of the Action/Adventure "One night in Paris" has an energy plan, no joke. Go to www.drudgereport.com
It's just a watered down vertion of T. Boone Pickens plan, but it's better than B.O's. As you may know B.O's plan is to make sure everyones tires are inflated, and there motors are tuned. BRILLIANT! Maybe Paris is'nt as dum as most think? Also have you heard the new B.O. joke? He says; I just flew in from Chicago, boy are my ears tired.

Her energy plan is also a lot better and a lot more detailed than that wrinkly old dude's. :)

Essentially her plan is to do everything...including drill. In other words...the Republican Plan.

Still she looks better presenting it.

And to think...Obama wants to take all her money and give it to the poor. That aint right.

The real, real, real, real sad thing is that she's just about as qualified as McCain - and FAR more likely to live for four more years!

If the prefix "pro-" means "for" or "in favor of", and "con" is its opposite, and if "progress" means "pushing forward" or "improving"... then what the hell does "Congress" mean?

You're confusing "Just drill until all the oil in the world is gone while you talk about other options and why they're not viable" with this "Do everything, including drill."
Easy mistake to make, I'm sure.

On a serious note, I have always wondered what the big deal is about actually combining the plans of both parties when it comes to a lot of things. A lot of them talk about it, but none of them seem willing to do it. Tends to make things a matter of choosing which side disgusts you less often. Just so happens I tend to agree more with the side that disgusts me less, but I never say that makes them perfect. I leave that up to the other side

You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.

I thought her bit was funny as hell.

But she did make one BIIIiiiig mistake. (And hey, given who it is, that's not all that bad. So far she's got a better track record than McCain.)

Drilling won't "tide us over" - it'll take 20 years before the benefits of drilling are realized. Assuming of course that the oil companies will actually drill their leases, though so far their record on that is pretty piss-poor; that they'll sell oil to the US and not to say, the Chinese who might be willing to offer up more yuan; and that they given the US refiners a price break, because, after all, if they charge the international spot price then where's the benefit to the US ?

On second thought, not only will drilling not tide us over, it won't give the US any break at all. Ever.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Hmmmm... Some high points of Obama's energy plan (taken from the Obama website):

Quote:

Obama’s comprehensive New Energy for America plan will:

Provide short-term relief to American families facing pain at the pump

Help create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future.

Within 10 years save more oil than we currently import from the Middle East and Venezuela combined.

Put 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars -- cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon -- on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built here in America.

Ensure 10 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25 percent by 2025.

Implement an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050.

ENERGY PLAN OVERVIEW:

Provide Short-term Relief to American Families
• Enact a Windfall Profits Tax to Provide a $1,000 Emergency Energy Rebate to American Families.
• Crack Down on Excessive Energy Speculation.
• Swap Oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to Cut Prices.

Eliminate Our Need for Middle Eastern and Venezuelan Oil within 10 Years
• Increase Fuel Economy Standards.
• Get 1 Million Plug-In Hybrid Cars on the Road by 2015.
• Create a New $7,000 Tax Credit for Purchasing Advanced Vehicles.
• Establish a National Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
• A “Use it or Lose It” Approach to Existing Oil and Gas Leases.
• Promote the Responsible Domestic Production of Oil and Natural Gas.

Create Millions of New "Green-Collar" Jobs
• Ensure 10 percent of Our Electricity Comes from Renewable Sources by 2012, and 25 percent by 2025.
• Deploy the Cheapest, Cleanest, Fastest Energy Source – Energy Efficiency.
• Weatherize One Million Homes Annually.
• Develop and Deploy Clean Coal Technology.
• Prioritize the Construction of the Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline.

Reduce our Greenhouse Gas Emissions 80 Percent by 2050
• Implement an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050.
• Make the U.S. a Leader on Climate Change.

Oh my goodness - it doesn't begin and end with inflating your tires! How can this be? Could the Republicans be spinning his message, or misconstruing it somehow? Impossible! They'd never do anything like that!

Of special note: Alaska natural gas pipeline is given priority. Efficiency is prioritized (giving tax breaks to people who buy EFFICIENT vehicles, instead of Bush's brilliant idea to give breaks to people who buy the most INEFFICIENT vehicles). RESPONSIBLE domestic production.

I disagree with him on the windfall profits tax. There's no need to enact a tax on the oil companies to give checks to citizens. This would only lead the oil companies to increase prices at the pump to keep pumping dollars into their own wallets.

And I'm not sure how he's going to pull off the cap and trade stuff on greenhouse emissions.

Yeah, shouldn't have attempted the colloquialism. It was intended to be a contraction of "Did y'all"... how "dum" of me. :)
