Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

Imagine that the United States (or your home country, if you live elsewhere) was to be destroyed so thoroughly that no one could survive there. Imagine that the UN arranged to have refugees transported to other countries of their choosing, and that all other countries had agreed to take in these refugees. Imagine that you could take only yourself and the clothes on your back. All of your assets and properties were forfeit.

Where in the world would you choose to go? What, to you, is the best place to live and to start your life anew? Why would you choose to live in this place?

******************

I think for my own part I would end up in either Canada or England. The language and cultural barrier would not be severe, and due to the socialist nature of those countries, my basic needs would be met even though I do not have any wealth or assets.

It's ironic that I should find myself saying this, because I don't endorse very many socialist programs. Yet, if I were to find myself destitute and starting from scratch, I think I'd be grateful to have them.

I'd regret the more restrictive gun laws in both places, and I'd find them oppressive, but the increased chance of survival in these environments would force me to be pragmatic.

How about the rest of you?

I would definitely go to Canada. I've been there a few times and it's beautiful. I would just sneak over the border with my guns. I mean if a million Mexicans can come over our border each year, getting into Canada should be no problem. Maybe after a while they would have an amnesty program for us and we could start voting in the Canadian elections. In a few years we would be a big enough voting block we could have the country's name changed to USA 2.0 .

Welcome to what used to be called "the middle class" in the good old U.S.A.

Me, I'm heading to Denmark, Switzerland, or Australia. Maybe Canada.

Australia - no language barrier, mate! Lots of laid-back folk just trying to make it to the next beer-b-que. Cons: Paul Hogan. Kylie Minogue.

Switzerland - Neutral. Aggressively so.

Denmark - Free college, high taxes, but most of your needs are covered, so you're not worrying about tuition, bills, insurance, etc. Your disposable income is actually disposable!

Canada - the only real drawback would be the massive influx of former Americans...

If the prefix "pro-" means "for" or "in favor of", and "con" is its opposite, and if "progress" means "pushing forward" or "improving"... then what the hell does "Congress" mean?

New Zealand IS beautiful...GodZone...

Or , Mongolia...oddly beautiful wild equine culture...

Or , Katmandu , Nepal , on the roof of the world...

Or , Canuckia , near the Yukon Territory...Getting balmier there , it's said...

If one has to live in an odd place , the scenery becomes important...

Someday , Afghanistan will be one of the most beautiful countries in the world...Until then , the native folk might not be so fond of Americans...

Been there done that. Fled Police State USA in 1984, appropriately. Lived in Germany 1 year, England 7 years.

No speed traps or traffic tickets for 8 years. No speed limit in Germany. Cops in UK posted in newspapers that 87 mph was the real speed limit, not the 70 mph posted. That was before the insane Gatso robocops and toll roads. UK cops were disarmed, so much more polite than USA.

Went racing on TV almost every weekend, where I was paid to speed at 150 mph.

Ironically, my job was to nuke USAF bases in UK in controlled demolitions, and nuke Western Europe, with cops ordered to shoot me if I didn't do it. So UK and Western Europe are to be nuked by the White House and NATO.
www.piratenews.org/pentagonwhistleblower.html

So out of the US police state fry pan and into the heart-of-the-NWO hellfire, due to greed for speed.

US neutron bombs are to nuke USA, when the slaves get uppity. Sheeple KIA, assets AOK.

Mexico: Alaskan gas at 45-cents/gallon.

Venuzuela: gas at 11-cents a gallon.

Iraq: gas was 6-cents/gal before invasion #2, now 65-cents/gal imported by Haliburton.

Sure, the language issue might be a little more prevalent, but the fact that I can repair small engines and have long years of experience with European scooter engines is a guaranteed income, especially as the things are much more common there.
(Hell, I even carry a stockpile of Cimatti parts, try finding THOSE anywhere else in the US these days!)

Besides which, the people are a rather self-determined lot, historically and in general practice, and have a much greater tolerance for Anarchists than most of europe.

Can I bring my guns?

If so...Canada or as we will call it, the United States. The question is, where would the Canadians go?

Stay in your own country, we Canadians have our own problems.

By the by, USAv2 would collapse just as v1 is right now.

Time to get my fellow Canuck's to lobby for that big wall across the border. Elections coming up.

Good thing is, we'll get to keep Alaska.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

Sadly, not Canada. I spent some time there, have friends there, but too many damn USers will cross the border. I suspect New Zealand will have the same issue, it's sort of a cult destination among those in the know, along with Costa Rica. Australia has too many environmental problems, the global warming thing is causing massive fires year after year. Why jump ship to a place that's going to burn to ashes and have its own problems, eh ? Maybe Norway, Sweden, Finland or Denamrk.

There ya go! I like the way you think. As we all know here in the U.S., you have to do whatever you can to keep the illegals out! The flood of cheap labor from across your southern border would be the scourge of your nation!
