Nope. My meaning was crystal clear. The reason you're upset is that, once again, I owned you.

Figured you'd be use to it by now, Ginger.

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

A concern of the GOP is that the people aren't informed enough to understand their policies, while a fear of the Dems is that the people ARE.

And the delusions just keep flyin'...

Actually it's you who was owned. Rue owned you the second you asserted that every single person in the entire world "knew" that Saddam had WMD. That's almost as stupid an assertion on your part as the one that 95% of Americans pay no taxes!

Sorry, Mary, but you've been schooled yet again by your betters. You should be used to it by now.

I never said every single human being on the planet. You're laughable too literal. About as absurd as Obama saying 95% of all Americans will get a tax cut.

You two are so completely and utterly owned.

How much imposition? What may seem bright and crystal to you is murky to me. I can think of lots of ways to impose... But I'll have to get back to this later.

every person; everybody

BTW- even your more limited statement "Everyone on the Hill" isn't true. Dennis Kucinich, Barbara Lee, Sheila Jackson Lee, Chuck Hagel, and Warner all expressed serious doubt about those so-called WMD. Many pushed hard for investigation BEFORE we went to war.

God, rapo, you are one dumb bunny.

I love how you twist yourself into a knot, trying to make an issue and start a fight over the most innocuous and trivial of things.

I think you've got a wee crush on me.

I'm sure you can. I'm talking about actions that physically intrude on another person's freedom of action, or bring harm to their person or property (or directly threaten to do so). I'm NOT talking about vague secondary or tertiary effects of an action - like insurance rates going up, or property values going down, etc...

“Shadow Fed” Casts a Shadow Over the Solvency of the U.S. Banking System

By Shah Gilani
Contributing Editor
Money Morning

It’s called the “Shadow Fed.”

And it’s the next potential hot spot in the ongoing financial crisis. But few outside the Federal Home Loan Bank system, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) the U.S. Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury Department are remotely aware of the problems that are smoldering.

The Federal Home Loan Bank system, a government sponsored enterprise like Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE), has been called a shadow Fed, and is another part of the”shadow financial system” that’s been a central player in the ongoing financial mess we’re continuing to battle.

With several of the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks now losing money, their impaired ability to lend to their member banks or pay dividends may increase financial-system stress and insolvency. That has the Fed and the FDIC very worried.

And with good reason.

The FHLB system allows member banks to borrow cheaply, to use proceeds for purposes other than originally intended, to mask regulatory capital inadequacy, and ultimately to leverage U.S. taxpayers by adding to the burdens of central bank and the FDIC.

Ironical...The 'Federal Reserve' Shadow Bankster system has a 'shadow' of its own...

A 'shadow of a shadow' ?
Is that what is meant by 'transparency' in Government ?

'...Fiscal irresponsibility is now a calamitous cycle that poses a bigger threat than al Qaeda and its plans to attack the United States with a weapon of mass destruction. David Walker, the Paul Revere of a total economic and financial collapse on the present course, says the United States has a fiscal cancer "that is growing within us." And "if not treated, it will be catastrophic for our country." Cliches about growing our way out of it now ring hollow. But other cliches have America running on empty and about to go over the cliff.

The National Debt Clock in New York ran out of digits as it raced past $10 trillion to $10.7 trillion and still rising. IOUSA explains the first perceived crisis with national debt took place after the Revolutionary War, and that revolutionary governments took action under George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Budget deficits and national debt remained under control through many years, even during the Civil War, World War I and World War II.'

Not sure what you're getting at, but to answer the question, no, as long as it's to pay for legitimate functions of government, but that's seldom the case these days.

Couple things for Sarge to consider:

1) Property value going down DOES harm someone's property - and very possibly their life. Ask Wulf what life's like in those really low-value areas, and then tell me no one's been harmed by such effects.

2) Who gets to decide what's "legitimate"? Personally, I consider disaster-preparedness, volcano monitoring, and hurricane tracking to be MUCH more legitimate uses of my tax money than, say, a B-2 bomber or an F-22 Raptor, both aircraft without a mission in today's world. And I consider college education for everyone American who wants it to be a much better investment than Wall Street bailouts. So who decides what's legit and what's not?

Mike

The "On Fire" Economy -
The Dow closed at 10,587.60 on January 20, 2001, the day GW Bush took office. Eight years later, it closed below 8000 on the day he left office - a net loss of 25%. That's what conservatives call an economic "success".
