America loves a winner!

Per investigation by the Sun-Sentinel newspaper in Florida.

More than 30,000 Florida felons who by law should have been stripped of their right to vote remain registered to cast ballots in this presidential battleground state, a Sun Sentinel investigation has found.

Many are faithful voters, with at least 4,900 turning out in past elections.

Another 5,600 are not likely to vote Nov. 4 — they're still in prison.

Of the felons who registered with a party, Democrats outnumber Republicans more than two to one.

1. There needs to be tighter control on who does and doesn't get to vote.

2. Amazing that it's Florida again, after the last 2 incidents.

3. I think the underlined part speaks for itself.

Yeah, but one has come to expect it, it'd feel weird if Florida didn't fcuk things up somehow.

Well, if you've got proof that there's been deliberate tampering by election officials in favour of the Democrats, do tell.

Wanna see me be politically incorrect? Most of the prisoners are probably not white, so there'd be a significant lean towards the Democrats whenever prisoners get included in the electoral roll.

But granted, there's weird stuff going on all over the country again (in favour of the Democrats and the Republicans). I said this after the 2000 vote, I said this before and after the 2004 vote and I'll say this again: It's about time that the UN sends election monitors to the US, because American elections are neither free nor fair.

Which is something both Dems and Republicans know, well enough.

The very LAST thing this country needs is for the U.N. to step in and run OUR elections. If that ever becomes the case, then this country is finished.

Let's put it like this: if it were any other country that had such a dubious recent record when it comes to conducting national elections as the US has, the UN would already be there, with the US's approval.

That’s not true. The UN has never stepped into any election of any nation which has a tradition of liberal democracy like the US.

Only to monitor the development of a democracy. The US democracy is developed. Any intervention by the UN into US elections would be totally unprecedented. It's not going to happen - that's not what the UN is for.

And you’ll find that most developed democracies have similar discrepancies. It’s a product of the size of the numbers not the system. When you’re dealing with millions of votes, cast generally by hand, often by people of all ages and backgrounds, it’s rather amazing that we rarely have more then few percent discrepancies.

I think it's generally accepted that the US democracy isn't as developed as it claims to be, and while UN observers would be unprecedented, that doesn't mean that it's not in everybody's best interest to have them have a good look around.

McCain's the oldest presidential candidate ever and that doesn't imply he's the best candidate ever. And part of the original point was that the level of development of democracy in the US has seemingly been regressing over the last few electoral cycles.

According to who? No one can determine that that the US democracy has regressed over a “few electoral cycles.” And whether it has or hasn’t it certainly doesn’t mean that the US liberal democracy has become defunct. Talk about kneejerk.

But the founders never intended it to be a liberal democracy , It was founded, and to some degree still is a Representitive Republic .

Democracy in that the citizens have a say in their government, but not a DIRECT voice in how the Gov't is run.

So you're saying that the voting irregularities of the last two cycles were actually standard procedure before? This'd prove the point that the US democracy isn't as developed as it claims to be.

That’s true. The US is technically a Representative Federal Republic. But the concept of liberal democracy is an ideal which most free nations hold. That’s what distinguishes the US which is technically a Republic from Iran which is also technically a Republic. But the ideals that Iran bases it's Republican values on are theocratic, and not liberal at all – so the two nations are almost polar opposites, even as they technically have the same type of government.

Well, in 2000, it was the Democrats who designed the butterfly ballot, who decided to go WITH the butterfly ballot, and then it was the Democrats ( Gore ) who sued to recount only a few precincts, not the whole state - That goes the the Democrats

In 2006, I believe, it was fully a Democrat issue in the primaries. Again, that goes to the Dems.

Dollars to donuts, this one is the fault of the Dems as well.

There's more than twice as many felons in the Demorat Crime Party than in the Republicon Crime Party.

"The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy. There does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent, in the way the radical Right believes the Communists act. In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups, has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups, and frequently does so. I know of the operations of this network because I have studied it for twenty years and was permitted for two years, in the early 1960's, to examine its papers and secret records. I have no aversion to it or to most of its aims and have, for much of my life, been close to it and to many of its instruments. I have objected, both in the past and recently, to a few of its policies (notably to its belief that England was an Atlantic rather than a European Power and must be allied, or even federated, with the United States and must remain isolated from Europe), but in general my chief difference of opinion is that it wishes to remain unknown, and I believe its role in history is significant enough to be known."

an ancient Phoenician and Ammonite god, to whom children were sacrificed by burning.
-Webster's New World Dictionary

"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people."
