Seems absolutely plausible to me. Something about the video must make it clear who the source is.

Providing the tape was for the purpose of giving the Times Verifiable corroboration. They reported the story.

It's hard to imagine why they won't release the video. They must have their reasons. Just because it purportedly has Obama toasting a Palestinian-American who advocates death to Israel, with Bill Ayers there for the festivities as well, hardly seems like a reason to not release it. Nothing wrong here, move along.

When they reported it in April they thought Hillary would get the nomination. The paper endorsed Hillary, and she won the California Primary. They printed the story because it was newsworthy at the time, meaning it would hurt Obama and help Hillary. Now with a week to go they know the video would be damaging to Obama, so it's not newsworthy. They do not have to release it, and they won't. They really have high journalistic ethics there.

I don't know why they never released the video. Maybe they can't due to copywrite issues. It doesn't matter anyway. The lines are drawn, and very few are left "un-decided". Most people don't seem to care about any negatives involving character and judgement. That is of course unless it's Sarah Palin.

Personally I think Obama is a liar. He's lied and misled about all his nefarious relationships, and the "press" doesn't seem to care about any of it, only Palin's clothes. Every time Obama is confronted with an accusation of an inappropriate relationship, first he denies it, then he abandons it, it never happened. Then his supporters say it doesn't matter anyhow. Fine. I'm sure we'll have a great country with a leader who doesn't know the bad guys from the good guys. Of course, in the world of Liberals, the bad guys are the good guys, and vice-versa. Stupid is as stupid does.
