Believe me, I know the feeling, despite my willingness to argue it into the dirt and beyond.

I'm up for other topics though, how bout some random stuff... hmm...

Not sure how long they'll have em in stock, but TigerDirect has some damn nice refurbished 17" LCD Monitors for under a hundred bucks, a hi-res of that image you posted would look right nice on one of those - I got one on order as a selfie xmas present cause my ancient 15" SVGA CRT-type kinda retired itself with a pop and a fizzle the day afore yesterday.

Tis the season for padding thy waistline, too - made cookies yesterday, substituting the healthier option of canola oil and 2tsp water instead of butter, of course then I wrecked any benefit by tripling the chocolate chips, but imma hedonist in the kitchen, I am...

And snow ultimately sucks when you have to walk watchman rounds in ten inches of it with a wind chill down to -24F cause the guy supposed to do it can't get his SUV out of the driveway since it came stock with 2WD *eyeroll* and it's stuck good and proper - it was pretty though, coming down lightly in large fluffy flakes all shining in the security lights like that, got some nice digicam snaps of it for my current wallpaper.

Nothin takes the bite out of sloggin through the snow all night like fresh chocolate chip cookies with a mug of Godiva Caramel Cocoa.

You know you want some.

Sick of politics?? Shirley, you jest. Actually I'm sick of all of it! Politics, social issues, economy, oil, Wall Street bailouts, terrorists, pirates, Blagojevich scandal, gay marriage & culture wars, illegal immigration, etc etc etc. Everyone I see and speak with sounds like a zombie these days. No one knows if they're going to have a job next week, so people are holding back their money and becoming introverted & very uncertain of the future. I think most people just want to forget about everything for a spell, and just let Obama come in and try to fix everything. If he does good, well great. If not, I'm sure I'll hear about it.

And it was the same in the Clinton years with the wiretapping and deregulation, bipartisanship, great that means roll over, bitch.
6. A third party minority president? Gotta salute that. And I'd say a damn good one, given the balancing act he's had to play. Ahmadinejad is a Kurd, though his name is arabic. This is because arabs who are a minority about the portion that blacks are here, are generally accepted, but the kurds were accused of aiding Iraq in the Iran/Iraq war. They were accused of the reverse in Iraq, and killed for it, in Iran, just discriminated against. But then 14 years later one is president? That's impressive. Okay, if Obama is a secret muslim, then I'll say we're on a level here.
7. But still, third party? and a small one. The conservative party was involved in election fraud, and so the opposition, (Reform) was slated to win, with their heavy pro-west stance and strong US support, but then in the spring, we invaded Iraq, and by fall, we had destroyed Iraq, and Bush's popularity in Iran (marvel at the concept, but it did exist, he was taking down Al Qaeda, who Iran hates, and taking down Saddam, who Iran hated, and also there was a strong pro-global economy feeling) anyway, it tanked, and with it, support for the Reform Party went down the drain, and so rather than pick the lesser of two evils, they actually went with their own Ross Perot.

I'd say, the Iranian political system? Sure. Bring it on. I don't hate the idea of an engineer president either. He still teaches his class at the university, even while being president.

And, for the last note: As far as having an ayatollah who has veto power (no other power)? Two things:

1. He is an elected official. The theocrats are an elected body, and they in turn elect the ayatollah. He can also be impeached. Much like Nancy Pelosi is elected Speaker. Except she can't be impeached. And more elected than the cabinet.

2. If you discount this idea, bear in mind that the world that the pope has the same veto power in around 100 catholic countries with total population of over a billion followers? And anything in the Ayatollah's past is going to pale in comparison to the pope's. Okay, so the pope was drafted in the hitler youth, and into the army, but he volunteered to be ss at an concentration camp (just against poles this was before the extermination of the jews.) in Poland, a country where he now has supreme veto power? Now try impeaching the pope.

K, nuff said, just wanted to clear the air on Iran. I think there's a ton of misinformation going on about Iran. A nation where yes, women go to college, become scientists, serve in govt, and aren't require to wear head scarved, but often do, but it's usually much more modest, like a bandana. But for the feminists out there who are still in a tiff about this, try this one on for size. I can go out on a summer day, as I frequently do, with no shirt on. I invite you to try it, and see if maybe there isn't a double standard of dress in the United States of America.

While I disagree with it, I know where it comes from: The purpose of the headscarf, which appears in christian sects, especially around here, is to reduce the sexual appeal of women, to prevent lascivious behavior in men. (see Jezebel and hair)

So, does anyone think that the laws banning women from bearing their chests is that dissimilar.
