I don't think anyone here is a nazi, just because they think Isreal is making a mistake. Calling someone a nazi in modern times, to me, feels like it cheapens what halocaust victims had to go through.

Except for genuine neo-nazis and skinheads, have to be able to identify those dumbasses so they don't try anything again or hurt people in some misguided attempt to live up to their twisted ideology.

There's been some name-calling from both sides, I guess it's to be expected when a fiery argument starts up. I don't think it's meant to be personal, is it? Imagine if we didn't have these people to argue with, our days would be a lot more boring, and we wouldn't be so nearly finely honed.

Let me tell you who it isn't helping. You.

Here's my position on Israel, completely independent on my position on Palestine:

Ohlmert is an ass. He's an unmitigated ass. He's wanted for (maybe convicted of?) rape, embezzlement, and a large number of killings. This man is the low of the low. If a junta in some African country were looking for an a**hole to be their own local Mugabe and oppress the people, they would reject Ohlmert because he was too degenerate.

You know who agrees with this? 97% of Israelis. And that's not saying anything about Palestine.

Here's what's not helping Ohlmert: Ohlmert. He is behaving in a manner to which he and the rest of us have been accustomed to: as an ass. Forget Palestine for a second: He is completely ruining Israel's reputation internationally. No one wants to do business with them, no one wants to ally with them, no one wants their kids there, or their troops, hell, not even the US Govt. Ohlmert is such an ass that Bush, who himself is a spectacular world class ass, and the biggest friend to every petty dictator who ever wanted to blame America for everything, because he has made the US look so bad, even Bush thinks that Ohlmert is out of line. And Bush is the most zionist president the US has ever had.

Here's what's not helping Israel: Israel. Why? Because they haven't gotten rid of Ohlmert. I think 90% of Israel's problems could probably be solved with a well placed piece of friendly fire.

Now, Hamas. Here's my thoughts on Hamas. They crept in, with foreign support, as a replacement terrorist group when the PLO put down their arms and went for a political peace. Why did palestinians start supporting Hamas? Because the PLO attitude towards Israel was a strategy of appeasement, one which never works. So they never got their peace, and Palestine got nowhere, so Hamas became change they can believe in.

Hamas has a big problem though: Hamas. They are their own worst enemies. They encourage attacks, discourage peace and ally themselves to regimes that will not recognize Israel. They should be in the US talking at the UN, to the NYT, on the daily show, making friends in muslim minority nations on western Europe, looking for western sympathy. Instead, they have their heads up their asses, hurl bombs at everyone that comes near, and stick with people who have zero influence over Israel.

Okay, now, look back, at the two of you. If you keep lobbing bombs at one another, you will possibly damage each other in a way that will make you both look like rubble, but the very act itself makes you look petty bitter and hostile.

If you hurl invectives at someone else, repeatedly, do you think that anyone else on the forum looks at those, and takes them literally and then thinks less of that person you just insulted? Or do you think that they look at that and say, well that was bitter and hostile?

Think about it. And take some time. Take a long time, and think long and hard about what your saying and what effect it is having.
