Well, that's arguable, but what's NOT arguable is that there is no constitutional requirement for it. Only for the words of the oath. As for how you say them, you can have your hand on the bible, your hand on the koran, your hand on the torah, your hand in the air like you just don't care, your hand up your butt, your hand up an intern's skirt, or your hand on your c**k - none of it matters, as long as you state the oath or affirmation. Preferably in a sincere manner, but even that isn't a requirement.

I say they should GO FOR IT !

I mean, really, they should spend ALL their time and effort and money on that stuff. Even more than they are now. As much as they possibly can, and then some. Because this stuff's important !
