As a proud libertarian I am of course staunchly appreciative of the U.S. constitutional amendment that recognizes Americans' fundamental human right to self-defense.

So, I of course like a woman that has the common sense to appreciate that as well.

Hmmm things ya learn. I've been buying small guns. Now I am questioning myself. Yes women have told me I have small hands and a needle dick etc.... But in response I just tell em it's ok I have an ass like a sewing machine. My Indian name is "Turtle Head in a Briar Bush". Well I am just gonna get me a Dirty Harry gun show them ladies something big. Ya know women aren't being feminist for carrying guns its their right. I just believe men are deballed today. Then you have the animals who prey on the weak. If men would be men and protect women you would see a drop in crime against women. And women need to remember you need a man in the house as the sheep dog. But if you rely on 9/11 for help you'll be dead. With diversity today you have short and slender men as cops. Also women as patrol officiers and they can't cut it. They won't move without back up. SO it is a good thing that these moms, sisters, and daughters are attending the NRA convention in Arizona.

I saw a few places where I could pick up an old Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum for around $389. I love the big Smith&Wesson N-frame revolvers. New, they are pretty expensive, but used ones start at around $450. Some think the old spur type hammer is primitive, but I think they look cool. They shoot like a dream, and because of the heavy frame, recoil is tolerable. I see they're even making them in .41 Mag again, a caliber that has never quite gained the popularity it deserves. I like carrying a stainless Model 657 in my trunk for a backup piece, just in case I need to shoot through to engine block of a Mack truck.

No grenades. Too much boom-boom tends to bring the feds knock-knock-knockin' at your door. I'm a stickler about making damned sure that every single weapon I own is 100% legal and above-board. That's why I freaked when I thought I'd inadvertently gotten myself into a mess with an illegal Norinco MAK-90. Turned out mine was NOT one of the "evil third-hole" models, but it was a scary few days trying to figure out whether it was or wasn't, and how to dispose of it if it was. I'll have to have a look at them. I love the old Ruger models - I had to "work my way up" to getting to shoot my Dad's .44. This was back before Dirty Harry came out and made the damn thing famous. I figured they'd be close to a grand, so never really looked at them, until I kind of stumbled across a place that had several for cheap. Now I'm interested. And I don't have a revolver at the moment, so it's just one more thing to look into.

Smith also makes an N-Frame revolver that shoots .45 long Colt, the old cowboy round, as well as .45 ACP, the auto round, using clips that hold the rounds by the ejector rim on the cartridge. Also function as a pretty neat speedloader, since you don't have to release the loader.

They're big, though, like all N-Frames. If you don't have a pretty big hand, though, they're still purty, lol.

They even come in that new fangled stainless steel, heee!

Hell, BK, I'm gonna have to check out the N-frames. My big old hands have a hard time with puny li'l "normal" guns. My trusty Ruger P85 9mm feels okay in my hand, but it's about as small a handgun as I can comfortably fire. Tried my buddy's .380 LCP, and it's so tiny it was actually hard for me to use.

'Course, I really SHOULD pick up a .22 first. Hell, it's about the only ammo cheap enough to practice with any more.

But I *DID* actually see a few prices come DOWN this month, which may be a good sign...

If you've got big hands, the N-frame is probably the way to go, if you like revolvers, As I recall, the N frame from Smith is available in the Model 19, which is .357 mag, the model 29, or 'dirty harry' model, which is a .44, there's a .41 mag, and then the model 25 which is Long COlt, and the 25-2, which is .45 acp. Those are the ones I can recall right off the top of my head.

The regular model 25, with the Long Colt .45 round, is probably the most expensive to shoot, since the .45 long colt 'cowboy round' is hideously expensive.

Anyway, most are available in a variety of finishes, including nickel, which I wouldnt reccomend, and stainless, which i usually would. If you've got a p-89 then you know the beneifits of stainless.

Anyway, the N-frame is rugged, and strong. I don't have one, but I had one long time ago, in the ,45 acp. Old 625-2.
