Ever have those days when you begin to wonder exactly what you might have done to piss off the powers that run the universe ?

So that's what, FOUR tornadoes, an earthquake, three flash floods, eight severe thunderstorms and a partridge in a fuckin pear tree....

Makes me wonder if one of them pissed off Baptists has gods cellphone number or something - one of them lightning strikes last night was within 20 yards or so of me, and given how bad a shot that old fart is, made me wonder if someone was aimin at me, yanno ?

Ouch! Sorry Frem. I could say "that's what you get for living in such a dangerous place", but that would be a Californian's prejudice. We rarely have anything that causes trouble--well, around HERE anyway; other places they have lots of lightnight strikes which start fires, etc., but we got it whipped around here. The occasional flood (like every few years) only hits a small area.

Our storms knock down trees, but nothing to the extent yours do!

We got 'quakes, of course, but they only affect a smallish area and only rarely do we have big ones that do any real harm.

So you have my sympathy...having seen the path of a tornado on TV, it's pretty mind-boggling!

We have an intersection in Milwaukee that had a major fire a couple of months ago which destroyed four businesses, one of them considered a city landmark, and the other day a sinkhole, at the same intersection, swallowed a car and sent the driver to the hospital. Beginning to think we have a hellmouth.

My friend's house in Eagle, Wi. was missed by a tornado, but managed to get $30,000 worth of damage plus the lose of fifteen trees.

We lost power Friday night. The apartment manager thought he knew how to open and close the garage door manually. Now it is jammed shut. Can't get out of garage even though electricity is back. Dah.

Yes Fivver, I'll not dispute that Ann Arbor is full of lunatics and too many of em in it's Gov - this whole area is busy trying to scourge out a serious corruption problem as we stem the tide of slime flowin out of Detroit.

But with the smaller townships, politics can get downright crazy, down the road a ways in Sumpter, no one is gonna be forgettin Elmer Parraghi aka Elmer FUD (cause his very name invoked Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) any time soon, not after a knife fight which resulted in mututal restraining orders between him an an employee in the same freakin office building, or when he held to a Canadian trash-import deal over the wishes of 98% of his township cause HE was makin money off it - resulting in a recall vote where more people showed up to vote him OUT than ever did to vote him IN - and don't even get me started on Comcasts interference in Farmingtons elections...

Nor is anyone gonna forget my little foray into local politics any time soon, especially as given how badly it's been bungled since I moved, a couple folks have expressed interest in dragging me back!
I mean, what DOES it say about local politics when the guy running on a Supervillain/Evil Overlord platform is voted in via overwhelming majority ?

Btw - I named one of the Bunnies out at site three "Fivver", I originally thought he was stupid cause he kept following me, not normal bunny-behavior to move TOWARDS a threat...

Then I noticed that he was the one who didn't get eaten cause the owl eating his buddies won't come near me - and so named him Fivver since he had way more brains than a bunny generally does.
(And yes, referencing Watership Down.)

Anyhow, more of the same tonight, fun fun fun...
Site three has underground lines, so thankfully we almost never lose power, at least.
