Waters (along with Rep. Frank) participated directly in pressuring the feds for OneUnited’s piece of the bailout pie. She personally contacted the Treasury Department last December requesting $50 million for the company– and failed to disclose her ties to the bank to them. The government ended up coughing up $12 million in TARP funding for OneUnited — despite another government agency rapping the bank in October 2008 for “operating without effective underwriting standards and practices,” “operating without an effective loan documentation program” and “engaging in speculative investment practices.”

Thing is, they only seem to actually get PROSECUTED for it when they start touching those unspoken "Third Rail" items, like how we seem to be Israels bitch (Waters, McKinney), or big bank misconduct (Spitzer), or abuses from former administrations who still have people in power (not just Bush, but Johnson, Nixon, hell, even Kennedy's hangers on did this) - stuff like that.

So this is less about partisanship than about rocking boats that there's some kind of asshole-consensus not to rock, you see.

You ever think that's one reason that Congress is happy to install folks who are obviously corrupt, that it gives them a leash to control the fuckers ?

Mince, I'll take a stab at this. I am typing slowly. All black people are corrupt. They have not evolved enough to pass on instant gratification, hence the rampant crime, drug use, and illegitimate children. They can not think past NOW. They have no ability to plan for the future. This is an evolutionary change that whites, latinos, and Asians had to develop to live in areas that required planning. You could not sit by a fucking watering hole and wait for prey to just walk up. You had to plan on food for the winter. Not eat it all when harvested.
