Priests among 46 Christians killed in Iraq hostage drama
Khalil Murshadi
November 2, 2010

Grieving Catholics in Baghdad marked All Saints Day in mourning on Monday for 46 Christians killed during a hostage drama with Al-Qaeda gunmen that ended in an assault by Iraqi forces backed by US troops.

Throughout the day mourners were seen carrying coffins out of the church and loading them onto vehicles for transfer to the mortuary. Most of the victims were to be buried on Tuesday.

The rescue drama on Sunday night, two months after US forces formally concluded combat operations in Iraq, ended with two priests among at least 46 slain worshipers.

Local Muslims and Christians condemn bloody Baghdad church massacre
By Natasha Dado

According to media reports 58 were killed and 75 more injured after Al-Qaeda extremists in suicide vests raided Our Lady of Salvation Syriac Church in Baghdad, Iraq during evening mass on Sunday

( and others are reporting a slightly different story.. )

Innocent Christians Killed In Iraq In Retaliation For Quran-Burnings In US

Fifty-eight Christians, and a priest among them, who did not have anything to do with a Florida priest’s empty threat to burn copies of Quran, had to die in a mindless attack by Muslim extremists in a prominent Baghdad church.

Those cowards, who attacked innocent, helpless people in the name of Quran, are so ignorant that they do not even know that their religion does not sanction their sordid act, rather condemns it vehemently.

The government of Iraq also shares the blame for this massacre, as Iraqi Christians are rightfully complaining. When the Iraqi swat team went in for a rescue at the church where Sunni Muslim militants had taken the congregation hostage, the authority was not prepared to deal with suicide bombers. As a result, a large number of hostages died when the beasts detonated their payloads.

Point being, Muslims slaughtered Christians, because they tend to do that sort of thing, from time to time, all for the glory of Allah.

*WHERE* did I say that, exactly? There you go again, claiming I said things I clearly never said. Inferring what I never implied, in other words.

As Elvis mentioned, I'm saying I don't automatically take your word for it. I know you like to think you've got a really sterling record for accuracy around here (95% of Americans pay no taxes, Obama's trip is costing $200,000,000 per day and he's diverting 34 warships, etc.), but you've been so wrong for so long that I don't tend to assume you're being honest about anything.

What's funny is that you think you've learned it. ;) BTW, "what so ever" is generally written as a single word, "whatsoever". You continually get that wrong. Along with a whole bunch of other stuff. ;)

In your own words (and I quote): "You're a idiot."

Classic.

The modern definition of "socialist" is anyone who's winning an argument against a tea-bagger.

Where did you say it? By doubting me, that's where.

Moron.

And what - so - ever is written for emphasis, because you are truly a complete and utter pin head.

Now admit that you're wrong about this idiotic comparison to the christian bomber ( ONE ), move on and kindly shut the hell up. Your stupidity is harshing my buzz.

I hate that. I really, really fucking HATE that. I don't know why it gets my goat so when people do it.

I like a good debate. Nothing like a good fight to clear the sinuses and the mind, get a fresh perspective.

But when someone starts inventing shit to put in my mouth and resorting to extreme strawmen, it turns my stomach. Just a hangup of mine I suppose. Just sayin' I sympathize with you.

Thanks for letting me vent.

But I am right, of course, THAT IS exactly what he was implying, and I wasn't putting any words in his mouth.

Ask him what it was SPECIFICALLY that he wasn't taking my word for then.

Go ahead. ASK HIM!

Because other than simply being a dick and not liking something merely because I was the one who said it, he's got no reason to doubt the story which I posted.

None.

Whenever anyone makes an inference, they are doing exactly that, putting words in someone else's mouth that they never actually said.

If the inference is correct, the author agrees. If the inference is NOT correct, the author corrects you. Then it is time to apologize for the misunderstanding ("Oh, sorry, I thought you meant....") and ask the author to further clarify. That's the polite thing to do, anyway.

He can express doubt without disbelieving EVERYTHING in the story. You can doubt God without implying that God doesn't exist. There is such a thing as "Haven't made up my mind yet. I'm waiting for more details," or "I believe some of the claims, just not all of them."

For all he knows, you quoted some parts of the article while changing other parts. Because you provided no citations, no one can check the source.

Critical thinking 101: always question the veracity of any story. Any story without a reference is automatically suspicious.

You shoulda posted a link, dude.

I posted the entire story, as it was written. Not 'parts' of the article. The source is listed right up there at the top. American Free Press. ( AFP )

There's no reason for me to post the link when I copied the story, dude. Kwickie here is just being an ass for the sake of being an ass. He does have that track record.

I have, however, followed up w/ posting the lead part of 3 more stories, links included, to bury this idiotic non issue, once and for all.

I was left in some doubt because you refused to post any cites. And as YOU have a track record of simply discounting ANY coverage that doesn't come from your officially-approved sources (FauxNews, Limbaugh, NewsCorp), you really can't piss and moan too much if others do the same to you. And your steadfast refusal to produce such sources when asked really tends to make one suspicious, especially given your track record of making completely specious and unfounded, unsupported, and unverified claims that turn out to be not only wildly inaccurate, but downright fabricated out of whole cloth. That is YOUR "track record", and you damned well know it.

That you've gotten so defensive about it tells me there's more to this story, and you DON'T want anyone looking past your spin and digging for the real truth, because it will likely make you look even worse than you usually do.
