Wow, that's almost kind of zen. Most of the concerns I've heard have been about people who fall in the coverage gap, not about people defrauding the system.

It's an interesting comment on us that this is the first place our minds go - a belief that the healthcare system is terrible (admittedly, it is) coupled with an assumption that people want that terrible healthcare so badly that they'll steal and game the system in the service of their own health.

Considering how much abuse the insurance companies heaped on us all, the pendulum was bound to swing the other way eventually. It'll utterly screw over the economics of it though, I grant you.

When even Jack is complaining about falling in the coverage gap, and he's drunk most of the time and not sure what's going on, then I am led to conclude that's the bigger problem.

Also what about all that stuff people were bitching about the expense to small businesses due to the coverage gap? Come on.

And I don't watch any news, I mostly just feel what's going on in the world through osmotic learning and logic based predictions. Despite this, I'm usually more on point more often than not - at least when I'm not trolling or lying my ass off about something. Like watching the news.

It's called "feeding the lunatic fringe" and it works surprisingly well considering the "fringe" you're leaking to tries to attribute most everything to aliens and sasquatch.

Yeah, I imagine Beck made a killing off that.

So apparently in the century before last there were numerous recessions caused by inflation of gold and silver prices.

HMM gee, I wonder what the ramifications of that are. Maybe gold and silver aren't a safe infallible investment after all? Maybe there ARE no safe investments (real estate was also thought to be a safe investment before 2008)?

Maybe stocking up gold and silver in case the economy collapses is a load of patooey because if it's really so bad the dollar is no longer a standard of currency, gold and silver will be equally worthless because you can't EAT them.

Sorry, I was running out of time.

For the century prior to Obamanomics ruining the US Economy, there was an excellent triggering indicator for significant Bear market. I was highly interested in this during the late 80s and all of the 90s, since I wanted to know when to time the market to avoid Bear. I wanted to partake in Bull, and avoid Bear.
Take the high market closing price of DJIA. Whenever a Bear market is about to hit, it will be predicated by a 15% drop from the high of the cycle. Then, at least historically, there will be a profit-taking bump, followed by the Bear.
During the 80s, before the juggernaut of Reaganomics took full effect, DJIA was at 777.
By early 2001 the DJIA had already hit a high of about 12,000. I think it was about April 2001 when the Dow dropped to about 10,200 - or at least 15% below it's high. I didn't notice until May or June, and at the time I had restrictions on my retirement account with something like a 2 month delay before interfund transfers could take effect. Plus I was away from home for a month, and my passwords were at home. However, I did inform friends and coworkers that a Bear market was imminent. Those that took my advice got out in July. My sellout took effect in August, with Dow still above 10,000. I forget how high the bump was, something like 8%, which I missed out on. By September 10th, Dow was dropping rapidly and under 10,000.

Those who took my advice did not lose the 45% of their life's savings like most did. I got a lot of free dinners in 2002 and 03.

In October 2007 the Rock the Vote Congress' first budget took effect, Dow peaked at 14,000.

You say 'Obamanomics'. Do you mean your 15% formula duznt work anymore?

Back in 07 or 8, I correctly predicted that the price uv gas woud drop below 2$ per gallon and won a bet agenst a fend who had gotten pulled in by the Fox Newz vortex. If you recall, Glen Beck wuz frothing at the mouth with predictionz uv 5, 8 10$ gas!!!

Its not too hard to tell the difference between actual value in a commodity and a bubble. The problem iz that our financial system iz not based on reality, so both bubblez and real stuff can get deflated equally.

Ran out of time again.
At the end of Jan 2008, like 28th or so, DJIA dropped to about 12,460 - or a 15% drop.
Now, the concern for me was, this was now the era of computer trading, and programs. Previously the bump and subsequent Bear took months, but could this all happen in a matter of weeks or days? So I got out around 4 or 6 Feb, and missed out on the profits of 6-8% during Feb and March.

So, me and the friends who listened to me in 2001 saved about 40% of our money (actually, we earned that 40% when we got back in at the bottom of Bear), and rode the wave from about 7,400 up to 14,000 - and then again saved in 2008 about 55% of our money, and again rode the wave from about 5 or 6,000 in 2009 up to, what, 17,000 now?

But under Obamanomics, the market is no longer a US economy, and may never be again.

You say 'Obamanomics'. Do you mean your 15% formula duznt work anymore?

Correct. Except it was not "my" formula.
Obamanomics has destroyed the American Economy. The Markets used to be an indicator of the economy, the tail wagged by the dog of economic power. Under Obamanomics, the US economy is the tiny dog being wagged by the giant tail of markets - we now hear that huge changes in the market, tripping the market circuit breakers over and over again, are caused not by some real world event, but somebody burped in Athens, and then another passed wind in Amsterdam, etc, etc, etc.
Under the cycle from Mar 2009 to I think it was July 2011, the peak had dropped to a 15% trough on July 2 of that year (maybe it was 2010, I forget now). Under the 100-year formuls, that would have been the onset of Bear, but under obamanomics, it has become a false flag.

Smart or dumb, I don't have $ in gold. For what ever that's worth to anyone.

It only took 7 2/3 months to admit the truth?
And in the past 2 weeks, kpo has not rushed to point out how you were correct, that he was wrong, that this thread really is unbiased, and points out the conservative actual real predictions are valid instead of merely propping up his fake predictions?
Oh, wait - he did not, it had to wait for a reasonable person to post this obvious truth. Another opportunity for the libtards to claim balance, fairness, non-bias is squandered.

America loves a winner!

What never ceases to amaze me is , no matter how many times they're shown to be factually wrong - WMD in Iraq ( there were ) , if you like your plan, you can keep it ( no, you really can't ) , Benghazi was about a video ( it wasn't ), 7 million sign ups by March 31st ( which was the bare minimum they were expecting ) the Left continue to get it wrong and to fail.

Miserably.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

I'm just a red pill guy in a room full of blue pill addicts.

And another thing: When uber-libtards McCain selected Sarah Palin as running mate, I evaluated if he might die soon enough after being elected, so I could justify voting for her in spite of him. I judged that he would not have enough likelihood of dying, so I could not vote for his ticket. I was right. Same with liberal Romney after selecting Ryan. Both of those tards are still among the living.

It seems safe at this point to predict that Russia will suffer a recession next year. There's also the serious possibility of a financial crisis there...

It's not personal. It's just war.

So, no need for any incursions into Ukraine then, right ?

I'll make a conditional prediction.
IF the DJIA (Dow Jones Industrial Average) drops to 15,257; then I predict that there will be a bump up to between 16,155-17,050 which might take a week or month to occur, and then at some point (weeks or months) after bumping up to 16,150 or so, it will drop far below 15,000 for an extended period (months or years).

I think there's a significant chance there could be a major international incident caused by a Russian military plane (or some other vessel) flying aggressively near to or in Western airspace, in the next year.

Signy, on Greece:

The current troika-friendly Samaras government is in a throw-down with Tsipras (head of Syriza) over whether to accept Samaras' choice of President. If the Parliament doesn't agree to Samaras' choice, new elections must be held - elections which Syriza is likely to win.

Signy on the ruble crisis - http://fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=58918

Several predictions, including these:

"The one thing that Putin is NOT going to do (he says) is waste his foreign reserves on propping up the ruble."

"In the end, it's anybody's guess what happens to the Russian economy and finances. Or the USA's for that matter. Too much depends on political decision made a top levels, this is not an area that can be predicted by economics. My crystal ball is cloudy; I'm taking a wait-and-see approach."

That last one isn't really a prediction, but it contrasts well with the confident predictions by some of us that Russia will have a recession, and probably a serious one.

It's not personal. It's just war.

Signy - "Russia is not bowed down under a huge debt ratio. Their fundamentals ... both economic and financial .... are fairly sound, probably even better than the USAs after years of "quantitative easing". A 50% drop in the price of oil should lead to a 20% drop in the ruble (because oil and gas aren't the ONLY components to the Russian economy), not 50%. That's why I believe this is politically-driven and is already reverting back to something financially sensible."

I predicted that there would be no new Ebola cases linked to the doctor in New York or the nurse in Maine.

Looks like I nailed that one.

It almost seems like following the proper protocols negates the risk of contracting Ebola, but nobody on the right wants to talk about that now.
