America loves a winner!

10. State senate papers. In the 2008 primary, Obama criticized Hillary Clinton for not releasing papers from her eight years time as First Lady--but failed to produce any papers from his eight years in Springfield. “They could have been thrown out,” he said.

9. Academic transcripts. His supposed academic brilliance was a major selling point, but Obama (by his own admission) was a mediocre student. His GPA at Occidental was a B-plus at best, and his entering class at Columbia was weak. Can he prove his merit?

8. Book proposal. Obama’s literary agent claimed he was “born in Kenya”--for sixteen years. His original book proposal exists--biographer David Maraniss refers to it--and seems to have embellished other key details of his life. Yet it has never been released.

7. Medical records. In 2000, and again (briefly) in 2008, GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain released thousands of pages of his medical records. Obama, who had abused drugs and continued smoking, merely provided a one-page doctor’s note.

6. Small-dollar donors. In 2008, the McCain campaign released the names of donors who had contributed less than $200, though it was not required to do so. But the Obama campaign refused, amidst accusations it had accepted illegal foreign contributions.

5. The Khalidi tape. In 2003, Obama attended a party for his good friend, the radical Palestinian academic Rashid Khalidi. The event featured incendiary anti-Israel rhetoric. The LA Times broke the story, but has refused to release the tape--and so has Obama.

4. The real White House guest list. Touting its transparency, the Obama White House released its guest logs--but kept many visits secret, and moved meetings with lobbyists off-site. It also refused to confirm the identities of visitors like Bertha Lewis of ACORN.

3. Countless FOIA requests. The Obama administration has been described as “the worst” ever in complying with Freedom of Information Act requests for documents. It has also punished whistleblowers like David Walpin, who exposed cronyism in Americorps.

2. Health reform negotiations. Candidate Obama promised that health care reform negotiations would be televised on C-SPAN. Instead, there were back-room deals woth millions with lobbyists and legislators--the details of which are only beginning to emerge.

1. Fast and Furious documents. After months of stonewalling Congress, Attorney General Eric Holder asked President Obama to use executive privilege to conceal thousands of documents related to the deadly scandal--and Obama did just that.

In addition to the above, Obama and his campaign have lied about many facts about his past--his membership in the New Party; his extensive connections with ACORN; and his continued relationship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, among other examples. Obama’s own memoir is filled with fabrications. And now he is lying about his opponent’s honorable record in business. He--and the media--have no shame.

How many of those things has Romney released?

Have you seen his college transcripts?

His record of "missionary work" that ensured he wouldn't be drafted and sent to Vietnam, even though he was a vocal supporter of the war?

Where are all his private papers and correspondence from his time in the Governor's office?

Where are his medical records?

And where are his tax records?

Have you seen all of his marriage licenses?

How about his birth certificates?

That's a non-issue today.

If we can pretend that somehow we don't know who is and who isn't a natural citizen in a world where the CIA knows our favorite foods and how we want them prepared, birth certificates mean nothing.

My youngest brother could easily make one for me if I was an illegal that wouldn't be questioned by the public so long as the government didn't investigate it.

There are records of Obama, one way or the other, just as there are records of every single person living here that ever paid dime one into the tax system at any point in their life.

Right on, Mike. In order for the claim to have any validity, it needs to be shown that Romney DID release all the same things Obama's being accused of not releasing. Does anyone know if he has? If he hasn't, that entire list, and this entire thread, are irrelevant.

You can't just toss out a bunch of stuff and try to make it relevant to something which IS relevant. Obama's birth certificate was totally unnecessary, and that's the comparison some here are trying to make. Whether any of the other things you've listed are relevant or not, you can't hold them up as some kind of refutation of the necessity of Romney disclosing his tax returns unless Romney made each of them public and Obama did NOT. Until such can be proven: End of story, as far as I'm concerned.

ETA: Omigawd, I just noticed: IT'S BREITBART! No WONDER it's written like it is...good gawd, Raptor is the one with no shame! I would no sooner put something up by Ed Schultz or someone his equivalent...good lord Raptor, surely you can do better than that.

Just that last one is a blatant, flat-out LIE. Obama hasn't lied about Romney's record in business (whether it's honorable or not is not for us to decide), in fact he's PRAISED it repeatedly. He's said that Romney was connected to a firm which outsourced American jobs...that's a fact, period. Even if he wasn't active in Bain between 1999 and 2002, Bain owned businesses which outsourced BEFORE THAT.

Beyond that, Breitbart would have to PROVE there's some kind of "continued relationship" with Ayres and Wright (which I don't believe there is), as well as that Obama's memoir is "filled" with "fabrications".

Ach, why bother; Breitbart was the worst kind of slimebag, ranked right up there with Limbaugh. His legacy is obviously being carried on, but nothing they have to say has ANY validity unless they can prove it, in my book.

But the Obama campaign has certainly criticized Bain's actions for outsourcing jobs. Not that those particular criticisms have stopped Obama from spending the money.

...“President Obama has based his entire reelection campaign on a vicious, dishonest assault on Mitt Romney’s business career. The real question for President Obama is this: if Bain Capital is so bad, why have you taken nearly $120,000 in donations from them?” said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul. “President Obama’s actions are the height of hypocrisy.”...
...According to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks Federal Election Commission data, Obama has collected $118,121 from donors who list Bain as their employer between June 2004 and May 2012. The period covers Obama’s bid for the Senate and his presidential campaigns...

So, Obama has been PROVEN to be a hypocrite. If his position is that it is bad for Bain to make money, it is just as bad for Obama to accept and spend that money.

Geezer, are you sure you want to go on calling yourself "nonpartisan"? I can keep pointing out that it's not true, if you like, but you really should be honest and admit the truth.
Quote:

That doesn't make any sense; it doesn't relate to any money Obama "spent". As to taking money from Bain, first off, I can't imagine any candidate going over where their donations came from in minute detail. In the second,
Quote:

from donors who list Bain as their employer

why does taking a donation from Bain EMPLOYEES make him a hypocrite? It's actually amusing...as I said in the post where I originally quoted that, doesn't the fact that Bain employees chose to donate to Obama say something pretty negative about the company for which they work?? Unless they've donating to both, which makes the point moot, they appear to be backing Obama, not the head of the company for whom they work!

Good one, Cuda. They're out and about, and snapping at everyone!

Nah, Mike...McCain's choice was made for him...against his wishes, I'm betting. Last Hurrah, he had to play by their rules, stupid as they were. It's cute, but just a political snark, in my opinion. It was safe to give McCain his tax returns because he knew, as a fellow rightie, they wouldn't go any further, that's all.
