DALEK!

That is the current favorability rating of the GOP.

Oh, and the Tea Party's favorability rating when last polled was down to 14%.

The reason they are polling very low is that Republicans are refusing to preform their duties in Congress. Senator Ted Cruz isn't the worst offender. For a more subtle example of sabotage, see Senator Lindsey Graham blocking all nominations over Benghazi. www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/graham-obama-benghazi-appointment/2013/10/28

What excuse is Senator Graham using? That Benghazi will lamentably lead to Charleston Harbor being nuked by Terrorists.

Graham is raising money and his donors in Charleston respond approvingly to talk that Obama will end the World unless he is stopped by brave Graham. Check the Sen. Graham video recorded by Republican party at a fund-raiser:

Another war maybe?

Reagan would have cut and run. Bush would have done nothing but sit and hold a book upside down for seven more minutes.

Revisionist history, at its finest.

Reagan DID strike @ Benghazi, 10 days after the Berlin Disco bombing.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

I strike that accomplished nothing and Reagan did nothing more.

I do not fear God, I fear the ignorance of man.

Yeah, I like the mentality: "Let's strike some people!" I wonder how many in Benghazi died in that strike who had nothing to do with anything? About like how many die in Obama's drone strikes, most likely, so of course we should do more of them!

(I saw the Graham headlines; couldn't even read 'em, he makes me so sick)

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Interesting that Graham should use the "call and response" technique of so many (black) preachers.

Anyhow... Graham is talking about geopolitics, which is good. We should all do more of that. But he's got his facts and timetable all wrong, which is bad. As he describes his nightmare scenario, I smell a lot of IF coming offa than plan.

IF Iran thinks we're weak, and
IF Iran develops nuclear weapons, and
IF Iran gives its nuclear technology to terrorists, then
within a year....

He's conveniently "forgetting" that Israel has nuclear weapons. He's taking his eyes off of some of the more important terrorist-funding nations (hint: It's not Iran)... AFA Jordan is concerned ... Jordan is a monarchy with serious human rights abuses. It's like a landlocked US aircraft carrier... it serves as an American airbase, and has a not-so-secret facility where the Saudis and CIA jointly train jihadists to fight in Syria. So while it may the the last country in the region that "we can deal with" (What about Israel???) it is hardly a "moderate" nation. He uses big ideas to catch donor's attention and make them feel smart... like they're playing with the big boys, yanno? But his speech is about 95% hogwash.

Uh, I was just wondering. When it comes to "what would Bush have done?", what DID Bush do all the time our embassies were attacked, does anyone know?

We all know there WERE numerous attacks on our embassies under Bush, and quite a few people died:
Quote:

January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen associated with Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.

June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber connected with al Qaeda attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.

October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of "Bali Bombings." No fatalities.

February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Several gunmen fire upon the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.

May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed al Qaeda terrorists storm the diplomatic compound, killing 36 people including nine Americans. The assailants committed suicide by detonating a truck bomb.

July 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two people.

December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al Qaeda terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.

March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people, including U.S. diplomat David Foy who was directly targeted by the attackers. (I wonder if Lindsey Graham or Fox News would even recognize the name "David Foy." This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what's considered American soil.)

September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed gunmen shouting "Allahu akbar" storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades, automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed, 13 are wounded.

January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek terrorist group called the Revolutionary Struggle fire a rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.

March 18, 2008. Sana'a, Yemen. Members of the al-Qaeda-linked Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S. Embassy. The shot misses the embassy, but hits nearby school killing two.

July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.

September 17, 2008. Sana'a, Yemen. Terrorists dressed as military officials attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of weapons including RPGs and detonate two car bombs. Sixteen people are killed, including an American student and her husband (they had been married for three weeks when the attack occurred). This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.

Does anyone know what Bush DID do, not what he "would have done" about these? I make that around a hundred people killed, so what did their erstwhile Commander and Chief do in response?

As far as I can tell, none of these people screaming bloody murder and trying to make Benghazi some kind of "impeachable offense" raised a single word of protest, asked any questions about why the administration didn't prevent the attacks or respond accordingly to prevent additional embassy attacks even tho', for example, American embassies in Yemen and Pakistan were attacked numerous times. Why didn't the Bush administration do something to secure the compounds after the first attacks? Why didn't he provide additional security? Why weren't Republicans screaming about it?

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Too many facts will chase the righties away and kill a thread.
