Just said my first words to my first Niece the other day.

For a slacker, that was more than somewhat cathartic...

She is a beautiful 8lb/3oz baby girl.

She has the darkest blue eyes you've ever seen but, sadly, the doctors say that in a year they'll be brown like mine. (From my experience though, doctors have known to be wrong before).

I've been riding solo for years now with nothing to really care about, but somewhere between hello and goodbye that little girl charmed the hell out of her Uncle. Most of the time she just slept, but when she woke up she stared right into my eyes while both of her tiny hands gripped my pinky and pointer finger of my left hand.

I really have a desire to pick up the Guitar again now. I'd love to be able to play music and show her how the old folks did it before auto-tune and dubstep.... ;)

Would love to watch her sing this while i played guitar one day... :)

Aww, she's a cutie pie. You'll have to come up with a nickname for her that only you use. I always like doing that with kids that way you can razz them with it when they are teens

Do both parents have brown eyes? Is that why the docs think they'll be brown?

What a beauty! Congratulations.

I'm working on my second granddaughter, she's a big kid now, 5 months and trying to sit up, wants to GO!, and manages to relate to her Grandpa.

Nothin' better than to hold her when she's fussing and sing to her, rock her a little, and have her go quiet and then go to sleep. I don't think it's a criticism of my singing...

I LOVED holding her the most when she started fussing. I admit i got a little tense, but i stood up and started rocking and she just stopped fussing.

She's SUPER SMART!!!!

Pacifiers don't fool her. My brother put on a little show and kept trying to feed her a pacifier for about a minute until sis came out of the bathroom. I shouldn't laugh, but it really was the funniest thing. She would try to suck on it for a split second and then she'd spit it right out. Over and over. No fussing or crying.... She was just above that BS....

I don't know the meaning of life by any means, but i get a little vicarious peak into it now...

No matter what stupid and immature shenanigans i might get myself into, I now have somebody to try to maintain a certain level of maturity for.

Gotta come up with a name for her for sure. Right now she's just the never ending feeding/sleeping/poop factory for my bro and sis. :)

I won't say her name here, but it's really the most beautiful name I've heard. The first and middle name flow like poetry. I feel bad about our blue-collar-italian HARD last name because of it. Beauty-Beauty-Rock.....

On the topic of Neverending Poop and Rocks and whatever.....

Oh yeah... She and her friends are going to watch the crap out of this and The Goonies. :)
