Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

We've been hearing it for ages: "Tyrant Obama" (David Mamet), "He may think he’s a king" (Bachmann), "imperial presidency" (Cruz), "America's first dictator" (Beck), "socialist dictator" (Republican Texas Rep. Randy Weber tweeted from the House floor that President Obama is a “Socialistic dictator” while waiting for the State of the Union to begin. “On floor of house waitin on ‘Kommandant-In-Chef’… the Socialistic dictator” Weber tweeted Tuesday night at 8:09 p.m., approximately four hours before Obama’s speech was set to begin. http://dailycaller.com/2014/01/28/congressman-calls-obama-the-socialis

),.

How about some facts?

"50 Signs You Watch Too Much Fox News" #51: You think Obama is a dictator, king, tyrant, socialist dictator, but can't explain why.

For you to make a valid comparison, you'd really need to know the impact of the executive orders for each president, not just the numbers.

Looking at Reagan's for his first year in office, he was mostly revoking previous executive orders. In fact, some of his later revocations of executive orders were for his own orders that had completed their tasks.

Here's documentation on Reagan's, Bush's, and Obama's executive orders.

Good info. I wonder which of these the wingnuts consider to be so tyrannical?

Is it:
Establishing Federal Capability for the Timely Provision of Medical Countermeasures Following a Biological Attack

Or maybe its:

Half-Day Closing of Executive Departments and Agencies on Thursday, December 24, 2009

or

Increasing Participation of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Federal Programs

or

Establishing a White House Council on Automotive Communities and Workers

Maybe:

Removing Barriers to Responsible Scientific Research Involving Human Stem Cells

Who knows?

Yes it is. Too bad all you can do with it is cherrypick.

True, the context is as important as the number of XOs. What purpose did the XOs serve each president that issued them.

Of course, extreme conservatives automatically assume the worst about Obama.
Without actually stopping to consider the facts they fly off the handle and flat out accuse him of being a tyrant.

The XOs he has proposed are relatively low key and striving to help Americans live a decent life. Minimum wage, asking for businesses to consider the applications of the long-term unemployed; yeah real "King" stuff. But it's a brilliant move on the part of the president in an election year. If the republicans continue their inaction, heads will roll at the polls.
