The crown prince of Bahrain, whose government gave more than $50,000 to the Clintons’ charity and who participated in its glitzy annual conference, wanted a last-minute meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

U2 rocker and philanthropist Bono, also a regular at foundation events, wanted high-level help broadcasting a live link to the International Space Station during concerts.

In each case, according to emails released Monday from Hillary Clinton’s time as secretary of state, the requests were directed to Clinton’s deputy chief of staff and confidante, Huma Abedin, who engaged with other top aides and sometimes Clinton herself about how to respond.

The emails show that, in these and similar cases, the donors did not always get what they wanted, particularly when they sought anything more than a meeting.

But the exchanges, among 725 pages of correspondence from Abedin disclosed as part of a lawsuit by the conservative group Judicial Watch, illustrate the way the Clintons’ international network of friends and donors was able to get access to Hillary Clinton and her inner circle during her tenure running the State Department.

The release of the correspondence follows previous disclosures of internal emails showing a similar pattern of access for foundation contributors, and it comes as Republicans allege that Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, used her perch in the Obama administration to trade favors for donations. Clinton and the foundation have vigorously denied the charge.

Putin wants Trump so SIG does his bidding. I keep telling you SIG you are wasting Putin's money here. No one is buying what you are selling. Please don't try and tell me you haven't noticed you and 1kiki in every thread stand alone in what you post. That everyone else challenges what you say because it is untrue.

Putin's New Weapon, a Propaganda War

Putin’s Alice-in-Wonderland can be wacky, mind boggling, irritating, disgusting, cynical, and incorrigible, but underlying it is a sinister narrative of an alternate reality, cleverly designed to promote Putin’s goals and head off effective Western actions.

The internet troll army’s selling of the Kremlin’s parallel universe to the Russian people and to a skeptical Western audience is a matter of life and death for the Putin regime. If the Russian people do not buy their story, Putin loses the high “ratings” on which his regime rests. If he cannot convince his Western audience, Europe and the United States will take actions that spoil his Novorossiya ventures and threaten his regime. Trolling is a high stakes business that Putin takes seriously and the West must not underestimate.

Germany’s Angela Merkel described Russian President Vladimir Putin, after a phone conversation, as “living in another world.” Like Merkel, we, who write on Russia’s War on Ukraine, have all had our rude introduction to Putin’s “other world.” In his parallel universe, the aggressor is the victim, strangers appoint themselves “premiers” of nonexistent “republics,” hundreds of soldiers mysteriously perish in border exercises or “on vacation,” a certified nationally elected government is a “neo-Nazi junta,” and hundreds of tanks and heavy weapons crossing borders are optical illusions.

A 2015 BBC investigation identified the Olgino factory as the most likely producer of a September 2015 "Saiga 410K review" video where an actor posing as U.S. soldier shoots at a book that turns out to be a Quran, which sparked outrage. The BBC found among other irregularities that the soldier's uniform is not used by the U.S. military and is easily purchased in Russia, and that the actor filmed was most likely a barman from Saint Petersburg related to a troll factory employee.

The Washington Post is an American daily newspaper. It is the most widely circulated newspaper published in Washington, D.C., and was founded on December 6, 1877, making it the area's oldest extant newspaper.

Located in the capital city of the United States, the newspaper has a particular emphasis on national politics. Daily editions are printed for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The newspaper is published as a broadsheet, with photographs printed both in color and in black and white.

The newspaper has won 47 Pulitzer Prizes. This includes six separate Pulitzers awarded in 2008, the second-highest number ever awarded to a single newspaper in one year.

There are many, many problems with hillary. She breaks countries and starts wars wherever she goes. Right now, she and obama are drumming up war fever JUST TO WIN THE ELECTION. Never mind that it's not against some small hapless country full of brown people that most voters can't find on a map. No, hillary and obama are aiming a Russia, a fully capable nuclear equal. I wonder if they've considered that the Russian response to their war-mongering might be something they can't just turn off after the election.

hillary as a president would have zero power to keep her many, many empty promises. And she knows that, but it doesn't stop her from making them anyway, because people really are that gullible. So, why not? But even more than that, hillary herself doesn't believe them, as the leaked documents show. hillary is an empty husk of a person when it comes to integrity.

hillary is completely corrupt, mixing state power with personal gain, as the leaked emails about pay-to-play as Secy of State and her toadying speeches to GS show.

And there's the billary issue - co-abusers of women and children, equal, if not worse than anyone else on the campaign trail.

But the BIGGEST problem with hillary is her finger on the nuclear button. Having left Iraq, Libya, Ukraine and Syria in unfixable smoking ruins, and unable to admit or even understand that she was wrong, surrounded by her equally deluded neocons in the State Department, military and CIA who also think a nuclear war is winnable, deaf to warnings, she'd turn her attention toward Russia - with her fat finger on the nuclear button and US policy to launch nuclear weapons FIRST in her waddling hip pocket. Given her unblemished history of failure, I can't imagine anything could possibly go wrong.

I'm resurrecting this thread as an analysis of what went wrong with Hillary, and the democratic party - which seem like they can get their act together, still.

Susan Sarandon was right: She warned us Hillary was doomed; liberals didn’t want to listen
No, she didn't elect Trump — and it's easier for liberals to hate on Sarandon than to face their own hypocrisy
Danielle Ryan

Remember that time when Susan Sarandon said she wouldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton and all hell broke lose in liberal land?

The actress and activist — who had previously been a vocal Bernie Sanders supporter — told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes in March last year that although she hadn’t decided which person to vote for, “some people” felt that Donald Trump would “bring the revolution immediately” — whereas Clinton was all about “shoring up the status quo.”

This naturally led to cries of outrage from the Clintonista center-left. Sarandon is not a good feminist, they seethed. She’s a traitor to the liberal cause, they fumed. She would put the country at risk. It was people like her, they said, that risked putting Trump in office. This went on for a while, with articles popping up all over the place condemning Sarandon for not falling in line with the rest of politically-conscious Hollywood. Newsweek writer Kurt Eichenwald called out Sarandon’s “narcissistic purity” on Twitter and blamed her for Trump’s win.

Sarandon was back on Hayes’ show recently and was asked this time how she felt now that Trump had won. There was a strong undercurrent of blame throughout the interview: The implication from Hayes was that Sarandon should get down on her knees, grovel and apologize profusely for failing to vote for Clinton. Much to his obvious disappointment, she defended her earlier comments and even doubled down on them.

But here’s the thing: If liberals weren’t too busy tweeting abuse at Sarandon and writing think pieces about her white privilege, they might just be able to see that she makes some salient points about the American political system, the media and the Trump presidency.

So, liberals, hold your fire for a second, and let’s look at this with an open mind.

1. It’s uncomfortable for Clinton supporters to admit this, but the fact is, Sarandon was awake when many Democrats weren’t. She was a vocal supporter of Sanders, the only truly progressive candidate with any chance of securing the nomination. Clinton was a status quo candidate and, as Sarandon has pointed out, if you back the status quo when people are desperate for change, “you’re going to have a difficult time.”

We’ll never know if Sanders could have beaten Trump, but we do know that Clinton could not. We know that the Democrats allowed Clinton to run a status quo campaign when people were hungry for revolution. We also know they schemed and connived against Sanders and paid the price. For that, Sarandon can’t be blamed.

2. Now, how ’bout that revolution? Sarandon was right there, too. OK, “revolution” may be too strong a word. But she is correct in saying that Trump’s presidency has woken up people in a way that never would have happened if Clinton had won. The popular retort to this is: Oh, but Clinton would have been much better than Trump. So there would have been no need for revolution! Therein lies the crux of the liberal con.

While Trump is brash and in-your-face about his awful policies, Obama and Clinton simply put a kinder, sugarcoated face on some of the very same things. Take fracking, for example. Fracking boomed under Obama. At one point, Clinton even tried to tar the image of anti-fracking environmentalists by linking them to a Russian plot to hamper the U.S. energy industry.

“Gasland” director Josh Fox — whose 2010 documentary went a long way toward reshaping progressive consciousness of the fracking issue — said the following in the same MSNBC episode with Sarandon:

Obama is the one that’s left us with the legacy of 300 frack-gas power plants. That’s thousands of pipelines. That’s millions of fracking wells. That was Hillary Clinton’s and Obama’s plan — Obama was the fracker in chief for eight years.

While Clinton’s State Department was promoting fracking around the world, we were reading The Huffington Post’s “65 Reasons Hillary Clinton Is a Badass” and perusing BuzzFeed’s “40 Most Adorable Pictures of President Obama.” Now the media has suddenly cottoned on to how awful this is for the environment and we’re all supposed to dutifully pretend that fracking was invented by Trump.

3. It’s worth including a note here about foreign policy, too. Sarandon has made multiple comments about Clinton’s foreign policy record. She told The Young Turks: “She did not learn from Iraq, and she is an interventionist, and she has done horrible things — and very callously. I don’t know if she is overcompensating or what her trip is. That scares me. I think we’ll be in Iran in two seconds.”

While it looks like Trump might also be salivating for conflict with Iran, Sarandon was not wrong about Clinton. Compared with Trump Clinton is a rabid interventionist. (Trump appears to be at least somewhat more of an isolationist, which is problematic for other reasons.) She is an unashamed hawk and proponent of U.S.-led and -engineered regime changes around the world — under the guise of liberal humanitarianism, of course.

Clinton’s role in supporting the 2009 Honduras coup and subsequent destabilization of that country has been well documented. She led the charge for a failed intervention that turned Libya into a failed state, and she was a proponent of implementing a no-fly zone in Syria, which could have resulted in a shooting war with Russia. As for Obama? Well, he only bombed seven Muslim-majority countries during his time in office.

4. Sarandon has also laid some blame for the current political situation on the media. In one particularly awkward exchange with Hayes, she questioned his journalistic credibility:

Sarandon: You consider yourself a journalist, right?

Hayes: Yeah, I spend 15 hours a day covering what’s going on.

Sarandon: So how many hours did you spend on Standing Rock?

Hayes: Not very much.

A while later, Hayes asked Sarandon to look him in the eye and say whether Trump was as bad as she expected him to be as president. She dismissed the question and asked him this:

Can you look me in the eyes and tell me you were doing your job to cover these issues completely? You just told me that you didn’t really cover DAPL. Are you covering now all of these [pipeline] explosions that have just happened? Because that’s what we need you to do — what we need from you is to allow people to understand what’s happening.

Again, Sarandon is right. The press treated Obama and Clinton with kid gloves compared to the battering they are giving Trump. It’s not the job of members of the media to decide that a president’s policies are less deserving of harsh criticism if he seems like a nice guy. It’s their job to be rigorous in their coverage of every president, with no exceptions.

Democrats who blame people like Sarandon for the Trump mess reveal a lot about themselves. Could it be that the real reason they don’t want to listen, or even entertain her opinions, is because if they did, they’d come face to face with their own hypocrisy?

That’s the crux of the matter. When Sarandon says Trump is bringing the revolution faster, what she’s really doing is pointing out liberal hypocrisy. Far too many liberals who have developed a newfound passion for environmentalism and world peace displayed little interest in either of those things during Obama’s presidency — and very likely would not have batted an eyelid over a Clinton continuation of similarly disastrous policies either.

To say all this is not a defense of Trump, lest anyone interpret it that way. It’s simply to say that nothing changes if nothing changes. If liberals really want to see progressive policies put into action, they’re going to have to open their eyes and vote for actual progressives.

The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old Democratic-staffer Seth Rich (shot multiple times, and not robbed, at 420am near his home in Washington D.C., where no homicides have been reported within 1500 feet) have stirred Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to offer a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction. But it is Assange's comments during a Dutch TV interview that are most disturbing as he hinted that Rich - who was in charge of DNC voter expansion data - was the email-leaker and his death was a politically-motivated assassination.

U.N. Official 'Accidentally' Crushes Own Throat Right Before Testifying Against Hillary Clinton
Quote:

...And as you might have guessed, there are major inconsistencies with Ashe’s death. It was not only conveniently timed because Ashe died just a few days before being set to testify against Clinton in a corruption case, but official reports indicated he died of a heart attack.
The problem, however, is that police on the scene reported Ashe died when his throat was crushed during a work-out accident.

The New York Post’s Page Six reported that after Ashe was found dead Wednesday, the U.N. claimed that he had died from a heart attack. Local police officers in Dobbs Ferry, New York, later disputed that claim, saying instead that he died from a workout accident that crushed his throat.

Adding to the mysterious nature of Ashe’s death was the fact that he had been slated to be in court Monday with his Chinese businessman co-defendant Ng Lap Seng, from whom he reportedly received over $1 billion in donations during his term as president of the U.N. General Assembly.

And then there was this: During the presidency of Bill Clinton, Seng illegally funneled several hundred thousand dollars to the Democrat National Committee.

Time and time again we see you relying on Zerohedge as your news source. It has become your site of one stop shopping. All you are SIG is a mindless Russia drone. You are one of those people who is too weak to formulate their own opinions. Even though they have access to a wealth of information accumulated over thousands of years. The rule of law SIG is what’s important and the civilized world is trying to get synchronized behind that idea. Your country of choice Russia, is falling woefully behind. You need to stop doing Putin’s bidding and get a grip on reality.

How do THEY feel about Trump? Your quick "deport them!" reaction to citizens from foreign countries who may be US citizens - like those that work for you - seems extreme and overly emotional.

With (maybe) one exception (I haven't re-read EVERY post of yours in here, just most of them) every post of yours was a defense of Hillary, because you attacked everyone who criticized her.

And, as usual you didn't attack people on the issues, you attacked them PERSONALLY, on such irrelevancies as their name ("Paul Craig Roberts") or their apocryphal "Mexican servants". In other words, you let your trolling skills shine! in defense of Hillary.

Anyone who bothers to read your posts will see that. I don't need to re-post your posts; your words speak for themselves.

Sure, on topic. I like how in the video Terry Gross tried to hold Hillary accountable for her misstatements (lies) just like I try to hold you accountable. I think once you accept that this is a problem you have and start embracing raw Truth - no matter where it leads you even if it is away from previously held beliefs - you will stop flailing about so much.

But anyway... Hillary's worst attribute is she's a really bad politician. Even terrible imho. Listening to her speak and try and sound presidential is painful. I can't listen, it's too forced, too fake, and I think that also reveals itself in her actions and policies. She is definitely not a sophisticated thinker and has very little charm or charisma, which could have serious consequences internationally. The world is full of immature male leaders and just plain shabby characters.

I am almost equally worried about the people she has around her, advising her though. Her team's lack of will power to tell her "no!" when she made so many bad choices with email was baaaad. Her lack of respect for the medium is pervasive today (heh), and people who know that - as she should have had around her - understand that every day. They really let her down. Every president who wants to excel needs great people around them, and part of that is the need for them to be honest, sometimes brutally so. Hey! full circle!

How Putin Weaponized Wikileaks to Influence the Election of an American President

"Evidence suggests that a Russian intelligence group was the source of the most recent Wikileaks intel dump, which was aimed to influence the U.S. election.

Close your eyes and imagine that a hacking group backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin broke into the email system of a major U.S. political party. The group stole thousands of sensitive messages and then published them through an obliging third party in a way that was strategically timed to influence the United States presidential election. Now open your eyes, because that’s what just happened.

On Friday, Wikileaks published 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee. They reveal, among other things, thuggish infighting, a push by a top DNC official to use Bernie Sanders’ religious convictions against him in the South, and attempts to strong-arm media outlets. In other words, they reveal the Washington campaign monster for what it is.

But leave aside the purported content of the Wikileaks data dump (to which numerous other outlets have devoted considerable attention) and consider the source. Considerable evidence shows that the Wikileaks dump was an orchestrated act by the Russian government, working through proxies, to undermine Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign."

Of course this makes sense. Get ready for the scoffs and outrage.

Talk about a bald-faced lie.

Quote:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_sharing

Nuclear sharing is a concept in NATO's policy of nuclear deterrence, which involves member countries without nuclear weapons of their own in the planning for the use of nuclear weapons by NATO. In particular, it provides for the armed forces of those countries to be involved in 'delivering' nuclear weapons in the event of their use.

As part of nuclear sharing, the participating countries ... maintain technical equipment (e.g., nuclear-capable airplanes) required for the use of nuclear weapons, and store nuclear weapons on their territory. In case of war, the United States told NATO allies the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) would no longer be controlling.[1]

Weapons provided for nuclear sharing (2015)
Country Base Estimated Bombs
Belgium Kleine Brogel 10~20
Germany Büchel =20
Italy Aviano 50
Italy Ghedi 20~40
Netherlands Volkel 10~20
Turkey Incirlik 50~90
5 nations 6 bases 160~240

Those countries might not have their OWN nuclear weapons programs and their OWN nuclear bombs, but they certainly have ours!

Europe is NOT a nuclear-weapons-free zone vis a vis Russia.

When we last heard this story - Hillary Clinton's presidential loss didn't have a bad effect on the Clinton Foundation, due to withdrawal of Saudi Arabia's generous donations.

But the Foundation did record millions in losses in 2017 and 2018. Still, I'm sure there was no quid pro quo.

Clinton Foundation Files $16.8 MILLION Loss

Newly released tax records show that the foundation reported a loss of almost $17 million in 2018, to add to the net loss of $16.1 million the previous year in 2017.

The numbers don’t lie.

Total revenue reported for 2018 was just $30.7 million, less than a tenth of what was being pulled in While Hillary was Secretary of State.

Only $24.2 million was posted in grants and contributions, which constitutes a record low for the “charity.” Expenses amounted to $47.5 million, hence a loss of $16.8 million.

In 2009, the Clinton Foundation hauled in $249 million, and in the four years that followed, another $392.2 million in revenue poured in. In her last three years in office, 2014-16, the foundation raised a whopping $344.4 million.

I'm necroposting because I asked myself in the 'Who Is Running In 2020?' http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?bid=18&tid=62903&p=11 thread what it was that people so disliked about Hillary.

First of all here's my answer - I disliked her because she was a proven war-monger who was jonesing for a war with Russia, our nuclear equal. Before the 2016 general election I posted a number of times that my ONE priority in voting for president was voting for someone who wouldn't be spoiling for a nuclear fight with Russia. But in addition to that, personally, I disliked here because she was bought-and-paid-for, shifty as hell, entitled, and dismissive of us peons.

But that's just me.

Why did Hillary have historic net negative ratings?

Here are some opinions:

#1) Her whole campaign could have been boiled down to “Vote for me because I’m a woman”
#2) Hillary’s entire claim to fame is being married to Bill
#3) She’s hopelessly corrupt
#4) She felt entitled to be President because of her last name

Some of the answer is surely rooted in gender ... it’s unsurprising that many of the pundits quickest to share their latest hot take about Clinton’s failure as a candidate (or human being) are men

- many on the right saw her as unacceptably liberal. She was the poster child for a certain kind of unapologetic feminism. You can see it here in her “could have stayed home and baked cookies” statement
- There were all kinds of right wing conspiracy theories against the Clintons in the 90s. When people are subjected to such a barrage of negativity, a perception that some of it must have been deserved sets in. The barrage of conspiracy theories against Hillary basically never stopped. It’s impossible to be an American Conservative and not have absorbed at least some of it.
- She is a pragmatist. If she supports gay rights but the rest of the country doesn’t support it, she’ll support advancing gay rights as far as politically feasible. She’s not going to campaign on idealism that she has no chance of enacting into policy. Some people view that as exceedingly calculating and untrustworthy.
- She is very pro-military intervention. A lot of people on the left dislike that.
- She is too comfortable with the big Banks. A lot of liberals, especially those of my generation, really, really, really don’t like that.

Prosecutor On Special Counsel Jack Smith's Team Shut Down FBI Investigation Into Clinton Foundation In 2016

A top prosecutor on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team recommended that the FBI shut down an investigation into the Clinton Foundation in 2016, despite ample evidence of suspicious activity related to hundreds of thousands of dollars in foreign transactions, Fox News reported.

In his May 2023 report on the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation, Special Counsel John Durham identified Ray Hulser, the former chief of the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section (PIN), as the official who “declined prosecution” of the Clinton Foundation. Hulser now serves on Smith’s team currently prosecuting former President Donald Trump for alleged crimes related to January 6.

According to Durham’s report, in late 2014, the FBI began investigating a “well-placed” confidential source’s claims that two foreign governments had attempted to make illegal donations to buy influence with Hillary ahead of her presidential campaign.

By early 2016, three different FBI field offices, in Washington, D.C., Little Rock, Arkansas, and New York, had opened investigations into the Clinton Foundation for “possible criminal activity,” but Hulser shut them down, claiming there was “insufficient predication” for opening the investigations. He reportedly declined to prosecute during a meeting on February 1, 2016.

An individual present for the meeting told Durham that the Justice Department’s reaction to the Clinton Foundation briefing was “hostile.”

According to Durham’s report, the investigation out of Washington was opened as a “preliminary investigation, because the case agent wanted to determine if he could develop additional information to corroborate allegations in a recently-published book, ‘Clinton Cash’ by Peter Schweizer, before seeking to convert the matter to a full investigation.”

Durham asked Hulser about his decision to shut down the Clinton Foundation probes as part of his investigation. Hulser told Durham that he thought the “FBI briefing was poorly presented and that there was insufficient predication for at least one of the investigations due to its reliance on allegations contained in a book.”

However, the New York and Little Rock investigations included predication “based on source reporting that identified foreign governments that had made, or offered to make, contributions to the Foundation in exchange for favorable or preferential treatment from Clinton,” according to the special counsel’s report.

Is there any part of you that isn't a warped and sick bitch? I am about finished with my BSW and I currently work in the mental health field. Trust me, you are one sick bitch.

Anyone working in the mental health field would never call anyone a "sick bitch". You're either a liar, or you've chosen the wrong profession!
