In a radio interview yesterday, Donald Trump flip-flopped on his call to ban Muslims from the United States:

Politico deployed its policy experts to study a week’s worth of Trump commentary and decipher what he’s saying, how his ideas would work and how far he could really go. Their conclusion for pretty much every Trump statement is that (a) he couldn't do it without congressional approval, and (b) fat chance of that. Trump voters don't care, never cared.

But he hasn’t.

The only Trump attribute that does not oscillate is his $10 billion worth. When his tax returns show he is worth only two percent of his claim, will he die of embarrassment? Sure.

Here is a fact for you: Trump’s fortune is in the range of $150 million to $250 million, which makes him look like he should NOT be President, since he inherited more than that.
www.vox.com/2016/5/14/11671650/how-rich-is-trump

Here is another fact: Trump says he can’t publish his tax return until after his audit is completed, but the old man is 69 and he should have at least 50 tax returns and not every return is being audited.

Poor Jon, he's finding out we can live without him. I'm sure he'll find work in Canada.

JO, the URL that you linked has been removed by the use. It no longer points to anywhere.

Here is the original show from which Jon Stewart's comments on BOTH Hillary AND Trump come from.

Now, having listened to this extended interview of Jon Stewart, I found him dishonest, illogical, smarmy, entitled, and supercilious.

This is the best old Jon can do, guest on a web cast? He's already become a relic of a bygone era. Next he'll be on cable access interviewing cast members of 1970's sitcoms. What is the cast of "Happy Days" doing these days?

Stewart could be a burnout Baby Boomer born 1962. In private meeting at the White House in 2014, Obama encouraged Stewart not to make young Americans cynical about their government, and Stewart replied that he was actually "skeptically idealistic". The idealism just didn't shine through on TV.

Stewart is also 53. Maybe he is having a late midlife crisis? Better than a nervous breakdown.

Or maybe Stewart’s dropping the irreligiousness and becoming Orthodox, hence the beard.

Have either of you listened to the extended interview?

Just as a comment about Obama: OF COURSE he doesn't want young people to become "cynical" about the political process. That might mean that they might see the system for what it really is: a puppet show. If they figured THAT out, they might start looking for the puppeteers!

Obama: such a dick.

Welcome to the real world. That has been his hallmark. He never wavered from it.

It's just something he did, doesn't mean it's "the best old Jon can do." Like him or loathe him, the man has a lot of talent and can do almost anything he wants; although that 1970's sitcoms interviewer gig does sound pretty sweet!

I never watched him before. I take it that what he says is what passes for intelligent thought.
